Locke can move this to the right area. Just don't start a new thread, or you'll get spanking

Some games don't have cheats, only walkthroughs so I'd rather not use either.

I'll try my best with a game, then I'll probably get angry with it, THEN I'll cheat.

I quite like the idea of some games where you have to complete it once before any cheats can be activated even if you know the cheat codes.

And now that this has been moved to right place...

Nope, I don't cheat. I play atleast couple times the game through before checking out what I may have missed, and mess with cheats. Of course, if I have been stuck on some game too damn long, I will probably go and hunt down some advice from somewhere.

i usually don't cheat, but i don't hold any moral objection to it... if i cheat, it's only because cheating is fun (rather than for the purpose of winning, that is).

i was intending to hack conquer online, but i ended up getting too preoccupied with other things... i'll get back on it before fall semester, i think...

I am much against cheating in most games, however some games I am for it. Example: cheating in an RPG, rarely if ever do I see a suitable need for it. However, cheating in a game like GTA3, now that adds to the enjoyment. Flying cars, all guns, weeeeeee!!

The Boy and I usually don't seek out cheats, codes, or secrets until after we've beaten a game - or on the rare occasion that we get stuck. Once you've beaten a game, codes and glitches and the like are perfectly fine - I see them as another way to add to the lifespan of that particular game.

However, cheating in any way during multiplayer games, be they sports titles, fps, rts, or whatever, is extremely lame. Only the bottom feeders need to cheat to win.

I prefer to use cheat codes once I have completed the game without them (Duke Nukem 3D was so cool whith cheat codes on ^^).
However, if I'm stuck for too long in a game, I tend to peek into a walkthrough to get me out of the situation. That would be the same if you talked about the game with a friend who has already completed it... Just a piece of advice

if god didn't want you to hack, he would have made games unhackable.
...the same goes for sodomy and killing people as well.

I won't comment on that SD but for me I will only cheat if it has gotten to a point that it is not fun to play the game as it too hard or too time comsuming. take Ninja gaiden, it is hard but if you do the right thing you will get through an area. Walkthroughs are the same as cheating but with two differences: you have to have the skills to do what the walkthrough ask for and you can flip to the part that you are having issues with and resolve it and then put it away.

I used the Guybrush Threepwood cheat on my Indiana Jones game so I could use a chicken thingy....does that count?

If my memory serves me the cheat was something like "Iwannabeapirate"

I cheat only when I've played the game enough and just want a few kicks, or when I'm feeling lazy. And even then I make a copy of my gamesave before I cheat, so that I can rape the game on one of them and play it the way it was meant to be played on the other. That way I don't lose sleep feeling like a cheapass.

Well I'm basicly against cheating, unless I'm bored on a rainy day, and I've beaten the game. As for walkthrough, I really don't like using them, unless it's 3:00AM in the morning and I'm too tired to think any harder!
I'm mainly against cheating because of games like Ragnarok online, where there used to not be enough GMs ~_~;

Hell, if on Contra you mean the continuation or ammo codes, or whatever they were, you almost had to use them. Or at least, I did when I was little.
