Default Final Fantasy: Your Favorite Is...

A typo pretty much ruined the old poll, so I'm starting a new one.

Locke, would you please lock the old one?

It's 5 for me! The job class system rules, and the music and storyline all blend together fabulously.

i enjoyed ffx and x-2. i don't think ffx has little, if any, replay value but i enjoyed it the first time through. and ffx-2 has huge replay value with the costume/class system. but that is just me o_o

anyways my favorite ff game would have to be ffV/IX/ or X-2. ffv for it's class system and hilarious dialogue. IX simply because it is my favorite plot and i think the most indepth. and x-2 for the class system and modern twist . . . . .

You certainly don't have to - but then, most of us like posting our opinions, which is why we post in the first place.

just because you like something doesn't mean you want to repost it over and over again . . . . . for example this cute fellow is rather entertaining but i am sure after a while i will tire of his hypnotic stare and . . . . . .

FF7 is my favorite because i say so.

i liked FF5 because it had the class system i liked so much in tactics, plus the walking around the world i liked so much in every other final fantasy.

1 i just thought was awesome... the character upgrades were cool... i was amazed when i figured out you can use weapons as an item and have them cast spells... i liked how it reduced the size of the explorable world without leading you along on a leash. etc etc etc...

FF4... the end kinda spoiled it for me a bit... but i liked it a bit better than 6, i think.

Yeah, one of the more important part of RPGs.

I voted for 9. As far as 1-6 goes, haven't finished none of them. 6 didn't get me hooked, and after a long struggle and boredomnes I got to the last fortress, I needed to divide into groups, and I had only 6 decently leveled characters. Haven't touched the game since. FF7 had this covered, because every character, eventhough they weren't part of the fighting group, followed 5(right? maybe 10, can't remember) levels behind the leader. I have only finished this once, and it doesn't make me want to finish it again. Big part of this is Uematsus music and how I have grown so bored with it.

FF8 was decent, but the whole experience was ruined by DRAW! which I hated. Junctioning was cool and all that, but to junction magic one needs to DRAW magic... And not to mention the small fact that I hate it when angsty teenagers are the last and only hope of earth (or whatever). However, strangely enough this is the only FF game that I have finished twice. FF9 was more fun game than any of the previous ones. The plot was a lot funnier and characters were wacky. Though there were some darker parts, in total it was full of life and happiness. And even Uematsu didn't ruin it Though he used lots of lead synths for this one, the musics were very fitting and is the only FF album by Uematsu that I like to listen outside the game.

FFX, haven't finished yet. Fun game, and blitzball rocks. Though voice acting is below average, and I often found myself to push button as soon as I had read the subs, it didn't ruin it. Only reason I haven't finished this is a scratch on disc And I should mention that Hamauzu kicks ass. Nakano has also some fine pieces in here, even Uematsu has few, but Hamauzu whoops ass.

As for FFX-2, haven't touched the game yet. I know I hate the music, but I'm still planning to play it.

I'm almost certain that FFT will claim the top spot as soon as I get into it though. I know I love the music, and so far I have enjoyed other tactics games I have played.

And this is my longest post these new forums. Hoorj!

What the crap...You took IV off this one ¬_¬;

FF1 through 3 haven't played.

FF4 -

FF5 - Haven't finished. . .¬_¬ I like the class system, but since you get all the classes on the first world, I get pretty bored soon after.

FF6 - Teh Sabin! It's a great game with a really in depth story ^_^ Definetly a classic. . .even if I haven't finished. ((Same thing as Kilu sadly...))

FF7 - ~_~ I'm just not impressed. . .never was either.

FF8 - I liked it. . .I have no idea as to why, but it's an overall good game for the most part, and some of the music is moving.

FFIX - ¬_¬; The only reason they shouldn't erase the exsistance of this game is the great Soundtrack it has going for it, and Beatrix.

FFX - >.<; Besides playing Blitzball((I don't like the concept, but the game was fun)) I just don't like it. The character designs were unmotivated, the music certainly wasn't anything special, and the story just irked me for some reason.

FFX-2 - I've been told it's a fun game. However the music burns, the character design burns, the story burns. ¬_¬; What the hell did they do to the Bard class!?!?!?!?

FFT- Whooo~ Addictive as hell. Deeeeep story, great music. The job system kept things entertaining. Basicly everything up to Orlandu was fun!

FFTA - It was quite a dissapointment. Since they'll be using some of the design concepts for XII I don't look forward too it one bit. >.O; They beat moogles with the ugly stick. . .multiple times! The story just wasn't entertaining in the least, and none of the character were that inspiring. . .though Ritz was kinda cool, even though she has the same name as a Booby Bar near where I live. . .

through most of the game, i was loving FF4... but then at the end, all the characters suddenly sprout back to life.

it came off a bit too contrivedly sacchrine for me.

Well it's like how in some of your favorite Anime((Well half the storys in exsistance)), the hero of the story is near dead. . .the he's reminded of his/her reason for being wherever they hell they may happen to be, and they regain the will to fight~! On another note they weren't dead...merely unconsious...

Iunno...Still my favorite

My favorte Final Fantasy would have to be the one that got me into the series. That would be FF6 / 3.
It was by far quite good. And for the SNES was a very well accomplished RPG.
I rank it #1 on my list, While Final Fantasy 5 ranks as #2 then comes final Fantasy 7 after that.

You have no need to crucify people who don't share the same view as you. Let's not go there again.

MY favourite would be FF1, I actually like alot of the older games like FF1 - FF6, once they started 7 and up, everything seems to be more graphics heavy and less story....alot more is needed than good graphics in an RPG, actually a good RPG doesn't need ANY graphics at all

(Note: this was basically a repost from the other thread, slightly modified.)

i always thought FF7 was lacking in graphics... aside from the cut scenes, that is. i mean, just look at the overworld models...

several months ago, someone managed to convince me the character development was subpar, but after playing it again, i see that even in the relatively underdeveloped characters, it is still quite excellent.

My vote went to IX. I won't explain my reasoning again as thoroughly as in the previous forums, so here's the rundown . . .

I bonded with many of the characters. They were so beautifully crafted, so natural-seeming in such an advanced, broad fantasy environment. While the music was full of synth, I never felt it to be out of place (maybe I just connect with Uematsu a bit too much) . . . it's my favorite FF soundtrack, with VIII and VII tying for #2.

Anyway, after downloading the PSFs and listening to them again, I am as impressed as ever with this game. Thanks, Square.
