Is the site down or something? I get errors when trying to visit the tracker, saying I may've misspelled the website address.
Yes, the tracker is down. Reason unknown at this time.
This just in, Locke Cole says that the computer that the tracker runs in has become very unstable, so it's down for now. No ETA, but he'll do what he can as soon as he can.

You could just have read the RPGN news and you'd know... I posted it at the same time I took the tracker down. :nana: :wall: :knockedout::smash:

I was planning to put it up on an alternative server, but now it seems that the server might be going down so I'll have to re-schedule that. There is still hope though. I'll let you know.

Is there any chance one of us can volunteer a PC to act as a tracker?
I miss the ol' tracker. I think it was a much better way to get music than the FTPs. Not enough people used it though, which is why I thought it might have been shut down.
I long for the days when I was uploading more music than Kilu! (I think it was him. Did you ever use a BG&E Alpha Section avatar, Kilu?)
Oh, well.

I have no problem with that solution. Grape, what say you?

Yes indeed. It was me!
If the tracker makes a comeback we should have somekind of suggestion box for it as well. I remember there were a few suggestions before as well, but Locke was being lazy as usual with the coding and none of the ideas saw light.

After all of this time, the server is finally going to return to service. I know we will pretty much have to start over, but its a fresh start that I think we need to try and get some users rolling back over to us. Be patient as it may take time to get people to notice our services returning to order.

Luckily, I still have all the torrent files I created. Otherwise I'd... do something. Nya.
I changed the ETA back to unknown, because that's what it is.

Was the tracker used enough to consider its revival? We do have the server up and running now, and it has the resources to bring the service back to light. Is it worth putting the effort into, to bring it back online? Feedback required, considering returning it to service.
Well, I thought it was pretty active, considering how short while it ended up being in use in the end. I say it may be worth the trouble to bring it back. It's a fairly easy way to fill requests and let those who didn't request get the stuff anyway.

I have spoken to Laban, and we are going to work on getting Apache and MySQL all dolled up for the install tomorrow. So fingers crossed, we should be able to test it out sometime soon. I'm probably going to wipe the database, and just work from a fresh batch. I did like some of our customizations though.
We didn't have too many customizations though did we? Fresh is always great though.

Most of the request system was customized, as the default tracker software has no requesting functions. It had some bugs, but overall worked alright. I may just use the old configs, and wipe the users/torrents from the database, then work from there. It depends how far along the actual development has come.

As some of you sneaky chatroom folk already know, the tracker is back up and operational. We have been working out minor fixes with some of the old code, and trying to get everything running smoothly. You can pop on over and sign up! (Yes, we wiped the database... a fresh start!) Same URL as before.
