Can you connect to any FTPs at all? Try ftp.sunet.se (anonymous/21). Got a firewall? Turn it off. Got a router? Unplugg it, connect the computer directly with cable to your internet source.
Work on ISP-Helpdesk for two days and you'll also learn not to trust routers/firewalls (specially not D-Link and Norton Internet Security).
Oh and as a side note, I can't connect to it either :nana:
Does anyone know if Ethryn has been active lately? Laban, would it be possible for you or Locke to turn all ftps offline so to speak, and email each mirror op in their contact mail to turn the status online. Would get rid of the ghost onlines in a snap.

Yes that can be done. The mirror system is now changed so that we can see when an operator changed status to online last time. Lots can be done during working hours ;D
3rd edit: As of now it means nothing, but it can be used to check if an operator is active or not. So say that if the status has not been changed for X time (saaay... once a month), an offline-warning is mailed to him/her. If the status is still not updated, the server goes offline. How does that sound?
Well, that would work, atleast for me. Have a link in the mail to 'activate' the account, so to speak. No need to change anything on the mirror page, just re-activate it. But I think that we should do an initial "all mirrors offline" deal to lose the doubt on some of them before enabling this kind of check.

I agree with the "all mirrors offline" bit. We should see who's really online after a week and then get rid of the mirrors that stayed offline that whole week and afterwards.

Not sure about getting rid of them alltogether, but putting them (mirrors that have been offline x amount of time) on a separate 'inactive' list would what I'd do.
