Hello everyone,

Yes I am still alive! As you all know, I have been a bit out of the loop recently with RPGN events, and I have been slowly bouncing back. However, to help keep things in order, some changes need to be made. I can no longer maintain the coding side of RPGN on my own, and have been getting a great deal of help with the conversion and further development of the site from one of our wonderful users. You all know him as the admin of Mirror 27. Laban!

I have promoted Laban to full administrator here at RPGN, and wanted to formally announce his promotion. He will be assigning tasks and helping keep RPGN moving in the months to come. I will be remaining on as well, we will work together to try and make RPGN the best it can be.

Many changes are up in the air right now. We are working on everything from new methods for you, the users to help update and submit content, to basic changes in design and adding new features even.

We are currently lacking design talents, graphical wise. We are seeking anyone with exceptional design and image editing skills. Knowledge of PHP is not required, but HTML and CSS would be a major asset. We can help with that however. We would even consider a team of designers, who can combine their talents to create the new face of RPGN. I can't offer much in the way of compensation at this time, other then full credit for your work, and maybe a few dollars from the advertising we do have on the site.

If you feel you have what it takes to fill this need, please contact Laban or myself. If you can, provide some samples of previous work experience.

Thank you, and have a great weekend everyone. :)

Well thank you Mr.Cole and hello everybody! As Locke just said, we are in need of a designer over here. If you've got some neat ideas on how to make this site brighter and more modern looking, let us know. The current layout has been around for close to a decade now.

Further more, it would be nice to hear some opinions about what we should expand with here on RPGN. There's a poll (http://www.rpgamers.net/Polls/) going right now with a few suggestions, but if you can think of anything besides that, don't hesitate to leave us a note. There are no stupid ideas :]

I have given thought to this and really I am stuck....I dont think it really needs more mirrors or similar. As for the design, yes I guess that has got to be updated with maybe extra modern day RPG characters and stuff....

Maybe you could the main section flash based and do some groovy entrance animation.

Dunno...I will think more of it, but I am not a man of good presentation, but I can tell you whether an idea looks crap or amazing:)

Congrats Laban for the official admin position.

As far as design goes, we really do need a new one. It's unfortunate that the wayback machine goes back only to year 2000, but in case anyone is interested this is what rpgn looked like Aug 24, 2000. (http://web.archive.org/web/20000824091734/http://www.rpgamers.net/) Aside from those few missing images of course.

I think we should go back to the LFW-2000 design.... or at least keep it as a theme :tophat:

HUZZAH!

Since Locke Cole and Laban are hopefully busy coding the main site, I will do some minor things in the forums. Adding few emoticons and things like that.

I could help, in my spare time. I've been doing web design for 6 years now... I run Hexify.com, if you guys want to take a peek at *some* of the things I can do. I'm also fairly good with PHP, Mysql, and javascript so I know the ropes well.

What kind of work were you guys thinking of?

Looks nice, only problem I have with it is that it makes my browser lag. Evil flash or something.

Must have been the ajax running the shoutbox, or maybe the few adverts. There is no flash.

Ok. Something made the computer lag.

Something made the computer lag.
Oh silly Laban, it's called Linux. xD

The site looks very slick I think. Now, who volunteers to kick Locke back in action?
