Are there any rpgs (that look like they might be good) coming out soon?
Action games and all are fun but I havent played a good rpg in a while.

Have you played Disgaea: Hour of Darkness and La Pucelle Tactics? Both PS2 RPGs, both strategy RPGs like FF Tactics, very good games. La Pucelle Tactics is Disgaea 2 with a new name.

Though you should definetly play La Pucelle first, cause Disgaea is by far the better game. Of coure even though it was released first, La Pucelle is obviously the older game, cause Disgaea uses the same battle style, attacks, and menu options, but with improvments!

:D After those you'll be ready for Phantom Brave when it comes out!!!! ((currently slated for prerelease at the end of the month, right?))

Besides that, the only two RPGs I'm looking forward to come out, on in Novemeber wich is Suikoden IV, and one in February wich is Xenosaga Episode II.

Xenosaga .. I have the first one but I am stuck. And for some odd reason I am just now thinking about the hundreds of online walkthroughs to get me unstuck. I'm at that big tower thing with all the stairs on both sides. I played not too long ago but I cant remember if I got through or not. Oh well, and I havent played Suikoden at all.

Anyways, I'll have to look into those other rpgs (Disgaea and La Pucelle), they probably arent for rent are they?

Xenosaga. What a joke. Atleast for us Europeans who don't have NTSC (or modded) PS2 and money to import games. One of the games I will play say, probably in 10 years. Unless there is a miracle and it's actually released in Europe. Which is more than obviously not going to happen.

Be forewarned, Disgaea is a powerleveling, must max everything, RPG of godness. You can level up to like 19998, as well as level up items, etc. Its an insane game. :o

:D If you're more in the mood for an rpg/adventure hybrid, Kingdom Hearts was pretty good. It wasn't the best rpg I've ever played, and it seemed a little on the easy side overall, but I and The Boy both enjoyed the concept and implementation. :bouncy:

well then Disgaea sounds like a cool game and Kingdom Hearts was ok, the story was good and gameplay was somewhat different, so i enjoyed that one.

Poor thing. You should look into playing Suikoden! Great story :D Though. . .¬_¬; If you're looking to play the first two, hope a friend has them because the games are going to far too much right now, used.

oh.. i'll have to ask around then

Unless you happen to find a place that doesn't compete with their proces, GensoSuikoden goes for $35 to $45, wich isn't too bad. GenoSuikoden II goes for close to $100 though ~_~; Myself, if I didn't already have a copy, would probably pay it out of obsessiveness...*is going to be so broke when he leaves home*

Maybe i can try to control the urges.. but i'll just give in eventually.. XD

summoner is a good game if you speed through it it only takes a few days if you do all the sides quests and such it takes months, i am not shure how good the second one was but i have it some where....

Every time i go to rent a game i see that one but i never get it.. one day i might just rent it........

I don't rent games, I like to do them in my own time, can't just start one then not play it for a while. :p

I usually restart a lot of my games after getting near the end then getting stuck....so I leave it for a while. Then I go back to it and can't remember why I stopped playing so I start again.

It's a viscious cycle. :p

:D I can't remember if anyone (namely Kilu ;)) has mentioned these, so I will; Dark Cloud 1 and 2 are fun games, though if you classify them as rpgs you'd also need to mention the strong adventure and sim elements. :bouncy:

Yeah, Dark Cloud 2 (Dark Chronicle in EU and JPN) is a fun game. Eventhough, at some point, some of the battle musics may start to annoy you, that is not a valid reason to dismiss this game. There is lots of things to do and couple of fun minigames as well. And you have a mecha that's body is originally made out of barrel. Yes, a barrel.

Inventing stuff (new mecha part and weapons) is quite fun. And yeah, it's not turnbased FF copy. That is a good thing :)

Boring a crap. I just gave up as the story was too slow to progress kind of like Elemental phantasha, Man was a waste. Tales and XenoSaga II are the only ones that I will give a go but try Baldur's Gate 2. it fun. ;)

Ok i am back.. man in that short time you all offered several games.... If i went out to find them all I'd come back with some debt... lol. Well, i'll look around and see what i can find.

How much would you sell that game for? Lucky 7

:D I'd rather want more games than I could afford than have only a few games worth buying. :bouncy:

Legend of Legaia was an aquired taste. Is 2 anything like the first? I found it a fresh break from your everyday RPG. :)

No, I'm not THAT mean. Let me check what Game Crazy says its worth, and I'll knock off some $$$ from the price and get back to you.

I am currently playing Disgaea 3 (aka Phantom Brave).

Its an excellent twist on the other two, with all kinds of new things to level. Items, skills, characters, monsters, titles, then combine, mix and match! What a crazy game :D

I have to restart since the memory card I used to have crapped out, and now all of my older saves are gone. Gone, I tell you! I'm just too lazy right now to replay them. But DC2 is great, great stuff.

Down***d it. There are plenty of places the full bin / iso DVD/CD file can be downloaded. I find a lot on bittorrent sites. I need a modded ps2 thpugh aswell. A soldering iron and 50 pounds for the chip is worth it :)

Last time I looked they were releasing Xenosaga 2 in Europe, but hell why not the first also?

Well I quickly add this too because of course wrong area for this.

I was a bit pissed off that I had to chip, so I went to a forum (cdfreaks) where a load of computer boffins were trying their best to make bootable games. The problem is that the bootcode on the PS discs is actually in the very inner part and no conventional PC writer can reach that part of a CD/DVD in other words....the perfect copies can only be made with the press.

These guys actually trying to work out a new way of doing it and they were real intelligent. Expert programers these dudes I was astonished:)

Expert programers these dudes I was astonished:) There is supposedly a way of booting PSone backup games on a PS2 using a program called 'exploit', without modding your PS2. If it does work then surely soon they can incorpate that method into booting PS2 games?

For some reason the links I keep putting in dont work but do from my favourites. Oh well, if you are interested you will have to do a search, sorry.
