:D Locke said this area of the boards would be an appropriate place to take requests for smilies to be added to the existing database. However, bear in mind that not every emoticon put on display here - indeed, probably few put on display here will be adopted for use, as RPGN has an already broad set of smilies. It should also go without saying that offensive or overly lewd emoticons will likely be ignored (or at best, chuckled at. ;))
[That OK, Locke? :D ]

Sounds good. I try to add only the best smilies, ones that everyone can make use of. I haven't had time to sift through this new site I found, but when I do, I'll be adding probably 50-100 more. :o The smilies need to meet certain standards:
- They should not be too big. We want them to enhance a post, not distract/ruin it.
- They should be decent. A smiley giving you the finger and telling you to f-off, is not quite what I'm looking for.
- They should not be overly large in filesize. Most smilies are under 2KB in size, for fast loading.
- There should not already be one like it in our database. Try to add to the variety.
I can create categories, and may add "violent" smilies next. I just finished updating the signs section, with a bunch of different sign-carrying smilies to help get your points across.
I -am- working on getting the popup smilies box to open larger by default, alas the code in vbulletin isnt always right where you think it should be. Finding it is becoming a challenge.

i got a good site... they're not really smilies, but they're small in size and look original. this is a link. (http://www.pata2.jp/77/pata.html)
you might want to just take a look at a few... i kinda doubt you'll add them, but they're worth a peek.

You did find it, it seems. Hooray for Locke, finder of the code.

Finder of the code.. lol. Yeah, thats me. It should be a fair size now.
Yeah, it's brilliant now. And it is enough, unless someone comes up with a new spoiler sign that's even wider than the current one :p

:D Personally, I like the current one. Though I wouldn't mind one of the single smilies holding up a Maroon! sign. ;)

That's an easy task to accomplish. Give me a smiley that is cool enough and has a sign and I'll make it marooning for you :p

:D I like this face http://home.triad.rr.com/codafett/gifs/disgust.gif , though I'm not sure how well it would lend itself to a Maroon! sign... And perhaps whichever smiley should actually be colored maroon? *shrug* I dunno... show me what you come up with. :bouncy:

*posts a sign* Kilu's custom emoticon shop!
You should make up a custom zedie emoticon too, being the top poster on our old forums, I think you've earned a :zedie: :)
But what kind of emoticon :zedie: would be? It should look pervy atleast :)
And what exactly does maroon represent? As in, sort of a funny insult perhaps? Not to be taken too seriously? So what kind of face goes along with that?

Heyyyy, speaking of maroons... Zedie, I meant to tell you this last week or so but you're never around and I forgot to post: I was in English class and there are a lot of blackboards. There is one on the front wall, one on the side wall on the one side of the door, and one on the side wall on the other side of the door. Well, it was on this latter board near the back of class that I was gazing - nothing was written on any of the boards except this one word: Maroons.
I am not making this up, heh. Just the word "maroons" on the board with no explanation. And I know it wasn't my teacher who put it there. I'm unaware of any other classes going on in that room before ours, but I suppose it's possible. Strange, huh.

Simple smiley with sign. Now, I can easily write the maroon text in there when needed. However, I need the face confirmation :) What kinda face will maroon be? Dammit Zedie :)

 Mwahahahaha! The world (or at least the classrooms ;)) are filled with maroons!
:wonder: I like the face you've got on there well enough if you prefer it over the blue one I posted. Perhaps the blue one is too frowny? Did I ever send you that Comic Book Commando font? It might be a good choice for the "Maroon!" part. Oh, and did you try it with the smiley colored maroon? ;)
:amazed: Wow... my very own :zedie: after all this time?! I'm not sure what that should look like... Suggestions? :spin:

I thought so too, that the face you posted was a bit too frowny. And colour part. I'll post here another example later.
edit: I made some changes, but it seems there is something messed with my connection, can't upload to the hosting space. And btw, you must remember that smileys are small in size, and it may not be possible to use that comic book commando font without making it look like garbage.
I would have posted this yesterday already, but there is something wrong with my connection at the moment. I changed the face to the other one, but I can change it back or to something else as well. I think this a bit too frowny. http://personal.inet.fi/musiikki/mika/maroon.gif
Now, are you sure you want it with maroon colour? I mean, sure it would be funny, but to me for example, maroon looks just brown, and it's quite possible that not very many people actually know the colour maroon, thus making the joke about marooon text with maroon coloured smiley quite useless. And besides, it may be ugly :p

:D Yeah, I think you're right - too frowny. And maroon would probably be overkill. :bouncy:

So I changed the face back, and moved it a bit to the right :) Does it look okay now?

:D Yes, I think I like it, unless you think I big smile would be better on it. :wonder:
As for a :zedie:... maybe we should just take the frowny one and smack a Z on its forehead? :knockedout:

I was thinking of a big smile or funky face from the beginning, but you seemed to be obsessed with frowny 'meh' and 'bah' faces :p
I personally like this quite a lot :p

But would that be really a :zedie: then. I have always thought that :zedie: was meant for... well, different situations.

How goes the emoticon making process, folks? :p
Well, I don't know, I made the last post and Zedie hasn't replied to it. What a lazy bum he is.

:D I like the :maroon: smilie you made just fine; I guess we only need Locke's approval for it now. ;)

What version? :) :D This? http://personal.inet.fi/musiikki/mika/maroon4.gif
Or some of the earlier ones?

:D That one, I guess. The face is a little goofier than I actually make when I say it ;), but I suppose the sentiment is still close enough to being the same. ;)
