I know Epology has seen it. What about the rest of you?

I thought it was rather cheesy in places, and obviously their "hacking" was overly stylized to make it interesting, but I enjoyed it. The music was spot on, I bought the first two soundtracks, and plan on nabbing the third sometime soon.

You mean the '95 film with Crahs Override and Acid Burn? Yes, I have seen it. Many many years ago.

Are there multiple films entitled "Hackers"...?

Are there even any other "hacking" movies? I know there was that "Wargames" one in the 80s. Er... I think. Other than that, I haven't the slightest.

Yes, I did see a movie called "Hackers", but how can you tell? I didn't tell you, did I?

Anyway, if we are talking about the same one, I got to say that I really enjoyed it. It was certainly exaggerated, but you can't make a movie without stereotypical parts which can be enjoyed by a wider audience which does not have any clue what hacking is all about.
The credits said that it is based on a true story. Do you know anything about that?

Heehee. I wondered if you would ask that. Check your danasoft signature... You used a quote from there, which reminded me that the movie existed.

As for being based on a true story: Eh, maybe.

Robert Tappan Moris III (Or, known by his hacker alias, "rtm") did something similar, where his college-brewed worm took out a crapload of computers on the fledging internet (Okay, so the network the colleges and [some] government computers were plugged into. Not ARPNet, not sure if it was the "Internet.") in the late 80s. Basically, he was the first person to write a program that self replicated across a network. Unfortunately (from a destructive stand point), some errors in his logic caused it to replicate like mad on the host system as well, slowing the spread.

There seems to be a tv series by the same name.

I didn't even edit those lines on the sign. They are the default ones, given by danasoft. But I still did watch the movie. ^^

Besides, there is a movie called "Avalon". It is made in a rather strange style, but includes hacker ethics as well. Have you seen it?
