WHY DID I BOTHER?
It is important to understand that in alot of cases music to a particular game (that I like) does not exist on CD i.e. it has never been officially released. People often just go for inferior sound formats such as PSF (playstation Music Format) or record the music themselves using crap soundcards, poor quality cables, bad software or analog connections in cases like the Playstation and PS2 where optical cable recording is an option using the PS2 optical output.
I was absolutely sick and tired of finding crap recordings, crap rips, crap encodings and then I decided that I would sort out the mess.
First I will go through the games that I have DONE OR WILL BE DONE SHORTLY and why I decided to record them etc. If you know of a released CD that I do not know about please correct me
Also I did this to give back to rpgamers what it has given me and many others thanks locke cole:)
I have a largish amount of VGM (10-11 GB) that I did not rip etc, mainly from RPGamer mirrors (though there are more and I tried my best to keep only good quality rips). A special thankyou mainly to Bamatone/Reth/Mithrandir and the rest. THANKS
And 1 further Special Thanks to EvilAshe who saved me alot of time by generously allowing me access to his server.
--------------------------------------------------------------
KEY
Because not all soundtracks are obtained in the same way indicators are used in the folder name. I have labelled all of the soundtracks I have in my position as follows, I hope you find it easier for you understand this way:
[Emulated] - The musics have been obtained using emulators such as ZSNES/SNESAMP (SNES/SNES Music emulator). As such the music may not sound exactly like the game music. However sometimes it is actually beneficial to do it this way as there is a percieved "increase in quality" over recording them from the actual console. Other times it is simply because I do not have the console/game and never will (In my case this applies to everything apart from Megadrive/Genesis, PSX and PS2).
[Recording] - The musics obtained have been recorded from the actual console. They will represent the total accuracy of the game audio but are usually inferior to an offcial release soundtrack (due to expert remastering and use of the master copy).
[Game-Rip] - A game rip is a soundtrack that has been ripped from a non CDA (Compact Disc Audio) compliant game disc. This usually involves the use of game tools that can extract the audio from custom made formats (like XA for playstation etc). A game rip will sound exactly like the game audio but is usually compressed (etc) and as such will not usually be as good as a CDA-Rip or an offcial release CD.
[CDA-Rip] - This is a rip from a game CD which contained CD audio. As such it will be of higher quality than a Game-Rip and will represent the original sound in entireity. It doesn't follow that this is better than an offcially released CD though.
[ALCA-####] - Catalogue numbers are used when it is an offcial released game soundtrack. You can put this into google etc and usually find the soundtrack listed for sale.
[None] - Soundtrack was officially released but not given a catalogue number.
[NA] - Non Applicable. Soundtrack is from an amateur source, such as amateur remixes etc.
Remember certain soundtracks have to be recorded, ripped or extracted simply because an offcial release CD is not out, never will be out or does not represent the actual music of the game in question.

MY RELASES, IN THE FOLDER "My RELEASES" ;)
Soulblade [Game-Rip] (Playstation): Otherwise known as Soul Edge has an officially released CD of the Khan Super Session. Arrange mode was not released either which is a pity. Some other tunes were also missing.
Bitrate: 224 CBR
RELEASED
Sonic The Hedgehog [Emulated] (Master System): No released CD.
All original music composed by Yuzo Koshiro (i.e. Streets of Rage). Yuzo remixed some musics from the Megadrive/Genesis version like Green Hill Zone (these wre composed originally by Masato Nakamura)
Bitrate: 224 CBR
RELEASED
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 [Emulated] (Master System): No released CD.
Tomozou, Simaghan and Ray composed. No idea who they are or what they are up to now. I find it hard to believe that the above were used to compose the soundtrack to a sonic game seemingly from nowhere. The names aren't helpful or real probably..loads of people are called Ray.
Bitrate: 224 CBR
RELEASED
Sonic The Hedgehog [Emulated] (Megadrive/Genesis): No Released CD.
Composer: Masato Nakamura
WAITING UNTIL I CONSIDER EMULATION READY
Sonic The Hedgehog 2 [Recording] (Megadrive/Genesis): No released CD
Composer: Masato Nakamura
WAITING UNTIL I CONSIDER EMULATION READY
Sonic The Hedgehog 3 [Recording] (Megadrive/Genesis): No Released CD.
Composers: Brad Buxer, Bobby Brooks, Darryl Ross, Geoff Grace, Doug Grigsby III, "Scirocco"
WAITING UNTIL I CONSIDER EMULATION READY
Sonic and Knuckles [Recording] (Megadrive/Genesis): OST not complete or accurate. Official release all remixes (and awful at that) ALCA-5015. Composed by Howard Drossin
WAITING UNTIL I CONSIDER EMULATION READY
Sonic 3D: Flickies Island [Recording] (Megadrive/Genesis): No released CD.
Composed by Jun Senoue
A Sega Saturn version (Sonic 3D Blast composed by Richard Jaques) was released but this great music soundtrack was sadly not.
WAITING UNTIL I CONSIDER EMULATION READY
Goldenaxe [Recording] (Megadrive/Genesis): No released CD.
Composed by David Whittaker
A great soundtrack...
WAITING UNTIL I CONSIDER EMULATION READY
Greendog [Recording] (Megadrive/Genesis): No released CD.
Composed by Matze
I recorded my favourite ones only.
Bitrate: 320 CBR
WAITING UNTIL I CONSIDER EMULATION READY
Final Fantasy X - Unreleased [Recording] (Playstation): Officially released CD was superior in quality to the actual output of the PS2 but 3 musics were for some reason left out of the OST, so here they are. Includes the nice tune 'Nostalgia'
Bitrate: 224 CBR
RELEASED
Metal Gear Solid 2 - Unreleased [Recording] (Playstation 2): You may wonder why the heck this one is here after 3 officially released CD's that covered all the musics perfectly? The thing is.....they didn't. The released CD's of the music composed by Nobino (MGS2: The Other side and MGS2 Substance Ultimate Sorter) are wrong and alot is missing too. The released CD's are still good but if you want the accurate sound and all them other tunes that are left out including the Olga Boss battle music, then this is for you.
Bitrate: 256 CBR
RELEASED
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance - Unreleased [Recording] (Playstation 2): No released CD.
Also note, people keep thinking that the Ultimate Sorter CD and 'The other side' are accurate to the actual PS2 music. They aren't, some are superior but I really don't go for remixes. Bottom line: download and tell me what you think. Also if you spot any I have missed drop me a line. Includes Snake Tales and Skate Board musics.
Bitrate: 224 CBR
RELEASED
Super Mario Brothers 2 (NES) [Emulated]: No released CD.
The game was not really supposed to be a mario game but the soundtrack is good and was composed by Koji Kondo
Bitrate: 224 CBR
WAITING UNTIL I CONSIDER EMULATION READY
Street Fighter II [Emulated] (SNES): No released CD?
Lots of music out there on the net with Street Fighter as the title, sadly they are the crap versions like Alpha. This soundtrack is a timeless classic.
Composed by Yoko Shimomura, Yoshihiro Sakaguchi, Tetsuya Nishimura, Isao Abe
Bitrate: 256 CBR
RELEASED
Super Mario Land: Overworld [Emulated] (Gameboy): Official release CD out but I like this one also from the emulator, especially since the one from the offcial release seems a bit clicky.
Bitrate: 224 CBR
RELEASED
Road Rash II: Main Theme [Recording] (Megadrive): No Released CD.
An ok tune....maybe I should have done the whole OSV.
Composed by Brad Buxter
Bitrate: 224 CBR
WAITING UNTIL I CONSIDER EMULATION READY

I would appreciate it if you do not alter the MP3 tags or the Readme if you download the OSV's from the MY RELEASES folder. Remember that alot of time and effort went into recording and ripping them - altering is a big crime in my book ;).
