Whenever I try to download something from Celeri server, via CuteFTP, I always get an error saying I don't have permission. Help?

at least you can get in celeri's server, i've tried for the past few days and there are always "too many people on".

there are other servers that have been giving me the "No permission" crap too. What's the secret to getting in Celeri hmm? slavery? :p

Well, I was able to get in fine for a while, then it was harder, now it's ALWAYS full. I figured out my problem. You just leave your FTP client reconnecting every few minutes.

I can get into the server, but I can't seem to see any files. http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/sad.gif

I alwasy get this message:
< 530 PORT command only accepts client IP address.
~ Could not retrieve directory listing for "/"It seems I need to tell it which directory to look in, but I've got no idea which one I need. :(

I'm using Leech btw. http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/smile.gif

I don't know what that error message means exactly, but I am pretty sure that you don't need to tell the client to look into a specific folder. This is also with Celeri's server then? Right now I would suggest checking that passive mode is on, and also verifying that all the server/port/login/pass data is correct.

Hopefully Celeri will chime in and have something to input :)

I'm not sure how to turn passive on exactally...but I know the password is correct, as it logs into the server fine, but it just doesn't know where to look.

Thanks for the help though, I'll have a look around in my settings. ;)

EDIT: Damn, after finally logging into Reth's server, I get the same error!! >_<

I also couldn't find out how to turn on Passive mode.(once again I'm using LeechFTP)

It's been a while since I used LeechFTP, so I can't recall where to turn the passive mode on. But I'm sure it's not hidden anywhere.

Or you could just change to a different client alltogether, like Filezilla. When I started using LeechFTP I thought it was pretty good, but after a while it started to freeze and shit on me. Now I use Filezilla. Open Source kicks ass.

I think passive mode is hidden somwhere in the options/config dialog. But I agree with Kilu : try a more advanced free client like Filezilla client or SmartFTP, you won't regret it :spin:

Celeri's server is working fine. I am using Bullet Proof at the moment. It does take time for the opening but these servers are very popular. To try another check, use the viewing/look option. You can see what celeri has at the same time checking your settings are correct.
Obviously you won't be able to d/l anything but its a start :).

So I made small test with anonymous login Celeri has. As it has unlimited look access, there is no way the server could be full or anything like that. First I tried it with active mode on. I got that exact error, < 530 PORT command only accepts client IP address. Then I turned passive mode on and tried again, and it worked perfectly.

So yeah, you just have to locate the option to turn on the passive mode and use it to make Celeri work for you.
If you plan to change your client to Filezilla (for example), I can help you out if you still need any.

Glad I could help in the little way that I did. Hopefully you can get running smoothly soon enough as Celeri has some good tunes on the server! Its a slow connection around 2kb/sec but some things are worth the wait ;).
