View Full Version : Lost
I just finished watching the first season. And damn, I really like it. It's definitely well written, and the cast is damn fine. I know that atleast one person in the forums also watch this, so I'm expecting some discussion! If you bring up something worth discussing that is. :p I can't think of anything more right now to say. :D

I guess maybe I will have to try it out. I've heard a bunch of people tell me it was great. I usually get into things late anyway, so this is no different. (Took me three years to catch up to 24 so I could watch season 4 on tv like everyone else, haha.)

It is a great show. I watch every week. There is wayyyyyyyyyy too much I could bring up, but I might start talkign about season two stuff, and I'm not sure if y'all have even got that far. When y'all know what's in the hatch, then we can start talking.
Glad to hear there are some fellow Losties here! A message board I like to frequent from time to time about the show is The Fuselage (http://www.thefuselage.com). It's sponsored by the creative team behind the show, so I think it's allright.

I thought about watching it...
Couldn't find it anywhere. ;)
HA!
Watched three episodes of the second season today. What I really like about it is the concept of small world, and how it's written in it.

I've seen a decent amount of the show, and I gotta say from what I've seen I've rather enjoyed. All in all a great show in my opinion, if I could get myself to be not working when it's on I'd watch it more, but meh, no worries. I'll probly end up downloading the whole thing when I get high speed at home.

I enjoyed the first season. I'm currently waiting for the second season to air in french (If I had cable I could watch it on NBC).
I still don't know where the story is going though. If it doesn't get anywhere soon I think I'm going to stop watching it.
The story went all over the place on the first season already. :p
I'm waiting for abc to resume their broadcastings, I think 11th of Jan is the date they'll continue. Can't wait!

watched an episode last night and at the end it said there is only 2 more episodes left....so it doesnt last forever, might watch em next wednesday
They are still making it. So they probably talked about season finale or a broadcast break or something.
Less than week to a new episode on ABC I think.

Heh! Actually it's right in the middle of season 2 at the mo. *has never missed an episode yet* http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/embarassedlaugh.gif
It's a pretty cool show so far, but admittedly not easy to get into if you haven't been watching for a while. I tried to get my mom to watch it once, about halfway through the first season and already at that time there was too much backstory to try to 'splain so she could watch it with me. You'd really have to watch the whole thing from the beginning to know each character's story.. but hey at least the first season dvds are already out!

I refrained from watching season 1 on French TV when it aired, because my best friend said he had it all in DivX on a friend's comp, original language (as non-English-speaking people should know, dubbed series tend to stink ^^)... So I missed the first episodes on purpose, expecting him to give me the originals from 01 to 25... And this idiot (ok, "idiot" in a friendly way XD ) never managed to get the files from his friend's comp or burn them on a DVD for me ! So I missed season one on TV and off TV ! (>_<);
Then a couple of months ago, I decided to get the stuff myself (BitTorrent magic ^^). Got it, watched it all in a week with my girlfriend, and we definitely enjoyed it ! :D In the end of the season, I think we've watched like 6 episodes a day... Good thing I knew the last episode ended a damn steep way (so I had time to get over it), otherwise I would probably have exploded in frustration. :p
Anyway... Now I'm gathering season 2 (with French subs ^^) as it's being aired and seeded, and man am I really a nice guy : I keep myself from watching anything for now, so that we can keep on watching the series together next time I visit her (800 Km don't help) !
So I have them, from 01 to 11 (freshly arrived :spin: ), and I can't watch... I can't know... Arrrgh ! XD Bah, I guess I'm still luckier than those who can't watch it other than on TV ; season 2 hasn't yet been announced on French screens...
Yeha, they just started airing the first season on the finnish channels, god bless the internet. :D And god bless the sane people of finnish tv who decide never to dub live action series.

Do they ? Guys you're lucky ! Here they dub everything ; you have to pay for special cable/satellite channels if you want original voices... Heh, for Buffy they had even dubbed the musical episode and got the French voice actors to sing too ! (o_o); I must admit they did a fairly nice job... But nothing near the excellence of the original songs ; as you say, Kilu, God bless Internet which let me get that particular episode un-dubbed, so I could compare and enjoy. :D (Not to mention the several times when it saved me to download some Buffy episode I had missed on TV. ^^)
Yeah, we have never had dubbed live action tv or movies. Subs has always been the way. Once upon a time I was at our Grand Aunts place and they had some of german RTL channels in there. It was very amusing to watch some movies and series with dubs. :D

did you know that LOST is the second most popular show in the world, based on the number of territories it is shown in? At 210, it is second only to the CSI franchise. i could not find a total for that series of shows.
exciting stuff, i'm sure....season three starts back up tonight. how fun!

WARNING!!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!! SEASON 3 -EPISODE 7 (NO LESS)
Yes, my new theory concerning the island is that it is some sort of black hole as http://losteastereggs.blogspot.com/2007/02/only-fools-are-enslaved-by-time-and.html
(http://losteastereggs.blogspot.com/2007/02/only-fools-are-enslaved-by-time-and.html%3Cbr%20/%3E)
this site points out in the weird video that was shown in the last episode. This has definitely brought more attention from me to the series.

last night....freakiest episode ever. gave me the cold chills. especially the end.
lost is picking back up. i love it! razzle dazzle!
Oh yeah, that was one messed up ending for the episode.
In the last weeks episode there was a little easter egg for friends of Medal of Honor. Giacchino inserted a small melody from the first MoH game in to the part where Locke climbed into the sub. That was pretty awesome thing to do.

i just think it's pretty sad that the fans couldn't give these new characters a chance. i think they could have been pretty interesting.
unless, of course, they are they way they are for a reason. maybe it happened for a reason, to teach us something about an island? and what about locke's cyptic line about buried objects????
loving it!

For all those interested [i'm guessing kilu for one], the latest LOST video podcast, which is available on LOST's page on abc.com, is all about Michael Giacchino, and how he makes music for LOST. I thought it was all-right.
Could be interesting, though I have an inside source for the man already. ;)

Locke as a character is becoming more and more intriguing in the sense that he has changed. In The Man From Tallahassee, it was kind of weird to see that
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
Locke blew up the sub. Why did he do that? Did he really do it or was this a plan to turn everyone against him? And what oes Ben mean when he said that Locke's "in communion" with the island; and that makes Locke "very, very important."
As I see it, Locke did indeed blew up the sub, because he doesn't want to leave the island, afterall, the island took away his need for the wheelchair. Which might just have something to do with the "in communion" part as well.

....it's been confirmed that harold perrineau, who plays micheal, will be back for season four. looks like those coordinates ben gave him weren't that great. or they just ran him into "not penelope's" boat. i, for one, will be happy to have him back. i always enjoyed his character, giving us a realistic representation of how i think most of us would deal with the same situation.
I hope the 4th season will be better than most of the 3rd season was. I mean, aside from the beginning and a few golden episodes, season 1 is still the king. Season 2 was mostly a bit lame, and while season 3 was better than season 2, there were still too many fillers.

07-27-2007, 09:36 AM
....well, with the shortening of seasons to 16 episodes from 22, i think it will create tighter, more concise stories. which i think is a good thing. i though season 3 was like the month of march in reverse...."in like a lamb, and out like a lion" i though the second half just kept picking up more and more steam, until the great finale. but that's just my opinion.
....at last night's comic-con panel, they had a new orientation video for "the orchid." apparently involves dr. candle, a bunch of bunnies that go mad, a jacob subliminal, and some guy on a bicycle, upside-down. sounds interesting. something about "casmir effect." here comes some more science!
EDIT: video from comic-con here. (http://darkufo.blogspot.com/2007/07/lost-orientation-film-station-six.html)

Only few shows I have seen end at the right time (fawlty towers, babylon 5 spring to mind). To be honest that is why I wait til the end, when it is finished. I think shows like this can burn themselevs out, even the simpsons has gone a bit silly and kinda plotless.
It is a shame too, because if you have 2 good seasons it will becoem a classic anyway, just a good ending needed. But most shows suffer from this problem that they must carry on and on. puts me off watching because I don't like seeing shows weedle down to nothing.
Still, I haven't seen lost so I can't really comment on the writing or how the seasons trend is going. I will make sure to watch one or 2 from season 1:)
Well, season 4 has been good so far. Actually answered a few questions already and while there are new ones (surprise!), I'm once again totally hooked.

I still haven't seen a single ep. I'm thinking I should put it on my Netflix queue. Hmm...
It really depends if you like tv that leaves you wondering things, or if you want quick resolutions. :p

It doesn't matter, since I'd be watching off the DVDs anyway. :p
Sure it matters. Even if you watch it from DVDs you still won't get answers all that much. :P We are on season 4 and lots of stuff from season 1 is still a mystery. :D

....season 4 has been amazingly great. and last night's episode was no exception. claire in the cabin was just downright freaky-looking. and has the island always wanted john there? it certainly seems that way.
can't wait for the beginning of the three hour finale next week!
Yeah, the whole time business is starting get really interesting. I mean, the guy who was behind the window when John's mom ran away, and came to see John when he was a kid and did the 'what do you own' test, he was one of the others, and hasn't like aged a day? And the whole thing with the doctor washing up on the shore.

I know I'm probably one of the few, but I have never seen a single episode of Lost. In fact, I rarely watch TV at all anymore, but I hear so many people talk about this show. Maybe someday I will download a few and take a peek.
