No, I am not asking to learn how to make them, that is what Google is for! I am just curious, can anyone upload a torrent to the tracker? I have several albums I grabbed off the most excellent FTP servers here, and would love to contribute my 45 kB/s upstream to RPGamers!

Speaking of which, is the goal of the torrents to serve music that is on the FTP servers, or give people a chance to share more music? Is it okay to say, create a torrent of music I pulled from Celeri?

For some odd reason, my email address was on RPGamers' newsletter circuit, but my registration for the forum was lost. New forums, I take it?

Anywho, this has always been one of my favorite video game music websites, and looks like it will continue to be one of the best for quite some time...

Yep, anyone can upload to the tracker. Just create a login and make sure you read the directions.

I think the goal of the torrent tracker is mainly to get more people in the door. Once that happens, we'd love to see them come to the boards. A bigger community helps us all. I think we all just want to share music. There aren't really any kind of restrictions. I don't see why it wouldn't be alright for you to create torrents of Celeri's music. (Though if they are Celeri's own rips/encodes, maybe it would be nice to ask first.)

The forums are relatively new.. They've been up for a good 6-8 months though, I think. Are you sure you mean forums? (Since you're posting on them now.) I never got a confirmation email when I signed up on the tracker.

Glad you're having a good time! :D

Edit: So according to my forum account creation date (July 2004), the new forums have been up much longer than I thought, haha. Time flies, you know.

Yes, I had to register again. *shrugs* But it's all good. =)

Thanks for the answers, Bamatone. I went ahead and used my newfound knowledge to fill a request! Huzzah!

Thanks. Hey, would any of you happen to know what is the optimal piece size setting? I tired Googling for it, but they all assumed I was using Azerus, and I left it on default. Any thoughts on this?

I left the first two torrents I made as 256K pieces, and I don't think there were any negative side effects.

I just use the automatic value in Azureus. I doubt that in the end it has a big effect in the torrent, unless you purposedly would make it big, like over a meg per piece or something.

256K sounds okay to me. :)
