View Full Version : FlashFXP doesn't seem to respond to many ftps

Hi, I'm using FlashFXP, and I can't seem to log on many of the servers... to name some, Ethryn's and Marona's. I can log on few others though, like Celeri's or Laban's. No error message is given, it simply acts as if the server is offline (even though it's marked as online on the servers page). It tries to connect and eventually times out.
It didn't even get to a state where passive mode was to be activated/de-activated, but I changed it anyway and it did no good.
Any ideas about hat could be causing this?

Hmm, it's been a while since I tried FlashFXP so I can't really help you with that. But I can suggest Filezilla. It's free and easy to use. Just remember to turn off the option that has it connect more than once per site (it's on by default). http://filezilla.sourceforge.net

Some of the servers are marked as online but they've been offline for long (e.g. Schliky / Gusto). Blame lazyness instead of FTP programs ;)
...as a side note, I second Bama : Filezilla is good :)
Yeah, don't trust the Online/Offline text next to the server name. It isn't necessarily correct. If some servers don't respond at all, it's sae to assume that they are offline even if they appear online. Sadly the status doesn't update automatically.
And I third the Filezilla suggestion. :D

Well that helps :P I guess they're really offline then. So it looks like few servers are actually active. I'd set one myself, but I'm behind a LAN and can't get it to work :/

FlashFXP is a good FTP client for many reasons but FileZilla is really good. Infact I will also recommend it for FTP usage.
