First and foremost, browse the forum for a bit. Someone might have asked the same question/had the same problem than you, so there might be a fix in one of the older threads.

Secondly, make a new thread for your problem if there isn't an active thread for the problem already. You can determine whether a thread is active or not from the date of the last post. If the last post is older than week, it's probably not active anymore.

Thirdly, we need info. "I got an error message, what do I do?" isn't enough information at all. If you can't login to an FTP, the more info you can provide us, the better are the chances for us to help you.

A quick fix on surprisingly many cases is to change your active/passive mode. If that doesn't help, create a new thread with a good title. "OMG help me!" is a terrible thread title. "Failed connection on Bamatone" for example would be much better.

What we preferably need are atleast the following.
Whose FTP server it is.
Your FTP client.
The complete error message, most clients let you copy it directly from the connection log.
Has it worked before with the same settings?
Did you try the active/passive mode fix?

Help us help you.
