Ok there seems to be quite a few character A VS character B threads going on, I'm sure the number of threads doesn't really matter but lets say for efficiency sake, this thread is being created for all the future battles.

Anyone who goes to gamefaqs once and a while knows of their Vs polls they have every year. Maybe for fun in the future members of RPGN could throw in thier fav characters of games and we could set up the fights and vote for em. Meh, it may be a dumb idea but I just thought I throw the idea out there.

Mega Man VS Zero?

I'm thinking megaman. He's got a gun and many many abilities, so he would be able to attack from a much longer range. Granted, zero is definently cooler in my opinion, I just don't think that he'd be able to take out megaman.

I'm gonna have to go with megaman as well, not because he's cooler or anything but he gets so many abilities (double jump, new cannons, better armor, etc..) not too mention the range of abilites he aquires after killing enemies like Woodman. Then there is the fact that in one of the games he gets zero's sword too leaving Zero with nothing over megaman except the ponytail . . .. . .

He might look cool, but as Kai pointed out, Megaman gets all the abilities, zero get's his sword. Really, I can't see zero managing to beat megaman.

Zero helped megaman when megaman was still weak and whithout enhancment however as I recall in one of the Megaman X games zero gets his ass handed to him and dies, so he gives megaman his sabre. In these fights we'll assume each character fights to their full potential (ie: megaman has all his upgrades and abilities).

Well, if they are both fully upgraded, then it means that Megaman has Zero's sabre, and that just makes Zero useless :p (I know that they both would have sabres, but that doesn't matter. The only reason Zero was so good was because of the sabre)

Megaman isn't as bad as he used to be. In fact he kicks ass nowadays. He's technically not Megaman, he's X so he's a lot cooler than original megaman. I'd have to say they'd be about equal strength. If anyone played Megaman X8, capcom finally realized the voice they previously used for the other games made him sound like a queer little child but now he sounds more like a guy. Besides, X has fought longer and harder than Zero. If anyone played Megaman Zero for GBA, Zero got defeated at some point and X had to fight alone for an estimated 1000 years until he stopped caring and then left all the work to Zero afterwards lol. Megaman and Zero can also be compared to Ryu and Ken...anyone else notice the similiarities?

Hadoken (Buster Cannon) greater than Shoryu-Ken (Zero's Saber) ?!!!

Side Note: Megaman also had Hadoken move in Megaman X1 that killed anything in one hit.

Yeah, I'll keep score, I don't mind. So it's 2-1 for sonic right now, methinks.

But Kai, keep in mind sonic with rocket shoes wouldn't do anything. He's already as fast as them, and if they were any faster then sonic's co-ordination would be off and he'd need to retrain himself to compensate for the speed boosts. There's my rebuttal to the sonic+rocket shoes :p ;)

His co-ordinations wouldn't be off, the only reason he does not move faster than he does is that is as fast as his body will allow him to move. If anything if sonic had rocket shoes his skin would simply peel off his bones . . . . . . O_O :knockedout:

Kefka had no minions whatsoever when he demolished the world. All 100% Kefka and his magical powers granted to him by the 3 goddess's and his misalignment of them. Sephiroth had clones galore. Kai. :shame: :p

Come to think of it, as this is a VS thread I don't think sephiroth would stand a chance at all against Kefka. Kefka had the power to restructure an entire planet as he wanted it to be, all sephiroth could do was call down a meteor on the planet to try to kill everything. And FAIL.

Plus, while Sephiroth was mostly insane, Kefka was completely and totally insane. Poisoning Doma, Burning Figaro Castle (attempting to burn it to the ground, were it not for the mechanical genius of Edgar (or his forbearers, whichever it was), the maniacal laughter, sand in his boots, come on now people, Kefka is definently more evil then Sephiroth ever was.

Currently ... 3-2 for Sephiroth over Kefka. :shame:

The clones weren't sephiroths minions, not to any useful extent anyways. Kefka had an army beside him for a lot of the game, whether or not he had the power to accomplish his goal he didn't achieve the power without help. Sephiroth however was born with the blood of the acients in him and was simply a supior life form.

Kefka only had an army on his side for the beginning of the game, when he wasn't the main enemy and he was merely a general in the empires army. When he took over and killed the emperor, he then was alone in his tower.

I'm gonna go with Sonic on this one. Mario was great, but there's no possible way that he could take down sonic. Mario just lacks the speed, and plus sonic even can jump higher, so Mario's jumping abilities just get negated there.

I'm gonna have to say sonic as well on this one. He's got the speed and the jump height not to metion when he does jump he's a weapon himself. Not to mention the power-ups he gets (ex. shield, speed upgrades, super sonic). A plumber vs a mutant hedgehog . . . . I think the answer is clear.

Yes but who would win in a fight, really if we take both characters abilities I think cloud would win, simply because his game allowed him to use every ability materia allowed him to use. Kirby definitely beats Yoshi and his fruityness. Kirby can easily suck him in and start throwing egg grenades lol. Super Smash Bros. is a good measure of their abilities i think...yoshi has a hell of a time with jumping and not falling into pits and cant recover if he gets knocked far.....but kirby can float!

Really they are both poor fighters, even after kirby has absorbed an enemy and stolen its abilites, he's still a little pink marshmellow, and yoshi is simply a little green dinosaur that is unable to eat bigger foes . . . . . . . so I guess one can only pick the greater of the two light weights.

Ok now lets try something different, cast of one game vs. a cast of another game (good and bad). No tag team, no leaders, no rules, just a group of character vs. another group in a bloody slaughter to the death, who would win.

Todays match . . . .

All the gang from Mario (ex. Mario, Toadstool, Toad, Yoshi, Birdo, Koopa, etc..)
Vs.
The cast of Chrono Trigger (ex. Chrono, Frog, Robo, Magus, Lavos, etc..)


Well, I'm gonna have to say Chrono Trigger on this one, sure Bowser has his thousands of minions over the games, and Mario has had his fair share of allies, their number is just greatly superior than Chrono Triggers however nothing they have can stand up to Lavos in the end, even if by some change they overpower Chrono and Magus etc.. there is no way anything from Mario can take out Lavos, in my opinion anyways.

Not just because of numbers but because of abilities look at SMRPG, Mario, Geno and Mallow all had a slew of powerful multiperson hit moves and Peach wasn't half bad (even though she is a princess) and we can't forget Bowser and the Yoshis of Yoshi Island, and and Belome aahh Belome take that Lavos we have Lavos copy and turn you into a scarecrow.:nana: :smash:

I'm gonna toss my vote in for the cast of Chrono Trigger as well. While Geno does have his Geno Whirl attack that can deal 9999 damage, it's still nothing compared to the magical might of the Chrono Trigger staff. Plus, if you just toss them head to head I'd say Robo would be able to take out Bowswer, Mario and Luigi both would fall to Chrono, Marle and Lucca would take down Princess, Mallow is completely useless as he's a cloud, Geno is really the only wild card, and I think Frog would be able to handle him. If frog ran into trouble, that's where Magus would come out. Yeah, I think the CT cast definently would slaughter the Mario cast.

I don't know if there are anymore.... vs. Mario 1 - 3, Lost Lvls, SMRPG, SMW,SM64,SMSun,PaperMario(1+2),Yoshi'sIsland(1+2), Dr.Mario,MarioKart,SSB(1+2),MTM etc. (add more if you can) as you can probably see Mario has the diversity and experience advantage, :smash: eg: Mario and the gang zoom in on karts pop some power flower pills and throw some viruses at Chronos gang, people eat people spray them you know the drill and Mario's team wins:nana: with some tragic losses such as Luigi, Mallow and Peach.... just trying to kill some dead weight.:evilgrin:

One word . . . . LUMINARE, all of Mario's gang dead or blinded by the light. You have to realise that most of Mario's gang isn't in an RPG format, Mario could only take a couple hits before dieing, shrinking, or spinning out. I'm gonna hafta side with me brudder in this one. Snake is awesome and kickass, yes, and that bandana with the infinity symbol is genius, but MC has shields. That heal. Snake would need to have himself some really good weaponry and a large amount of concentrated fire to take down MC. So MC for me.

Concentraded fire? Snake is stealthy enough to strap some sort of explosive to master chiefs back and take him out. MC may have shields but he still doesn't last to long against gernades and rockets and it really doesn't take that many shots to kill him if your playing legendary. I'd say he'd be more hard pressed against an elite seeing as how they have cloaking abilities but even then I'd say snake wouldn't have too much trouble.

Yeah, but master chief only needs to hit snake once or twice and snake's dead. Ergo, that's why I believe that MC would win. Plus the whole being a genetically engineered fighting machine ;)

That is the whole point, snake would be able to kill master chief before MC even knew he was there. The only thing MC might win at is a shoot-out or close range fire fight.

But even if snake were to sneak up behind MC, there's still the shields to worry about. Plus I'm pretty sure that MC would demolish snake. Snake might get the first hit in, but unless it's a sniper bullet taking Master Chief in the eye snakes not going to kill him, only hurt the shields a little bit. And in regards to the sniper thingy, MC is also able to use one. It's not like MC would be standing still for Snake to creep up on, and quite frankly snake doesn't do that much good in a firefight where the enemy isn't standing still or going on a patrol. His stealth get's kinda pointless when the target doesn't stand still or slowly walk in a straight path.

Meh, I say the whole thing is situational anyways. I have just argued the point with skikkles for a couple minutes, and the consensus we were able to reach was that in almost all situations MC would slaughter Snake, as Snake is nowheres near as tough as MC. If both were set loose in a jungle Snake would stand a chance, but in hand to hand, firefights, etc. Snake would be demolished by MC.

And I have played through MG Solid Snake and MG2. So I do know Snake's techniques, I'm not going off random statements. Just because Snake is ninja-like doesn't give him an immediate advantage.

And for the next VS.

Hmmm, I think I'm gonna hold off my vote on this one. Both fighter's have power's, and both could be blessed by their respective deities. Good call Kai, this one would be close.

I'd say that if they're both low leveled palidin/monk's, then it would go to the Paladin, but if it started to get to the higher level's then the Monk would win as they would start to get abilities to allow the monk to do stuff like Blade Grasp, etc. Without something to stop the sword I'd go for Paladin, but if the monk has those abilities it would be Monk. I dunno who would win in the end.

That's basically what I was thinking, both have there own unique abilities and both suffer pending on their range in levels. I'd say it would all come down to what abilites each fighter had . . . . .

Just one more thing about the Snake vs MC. Snake is invisible with his optic camouflage. And it lasts forever, unlike MCs invisibility. It doesn't matter how awesome the MC shield is, how can you beat something you can't see.

Well, in the Dragoon vs Knight one I'd say that Dragoon would win, as it's basically just an upgraded Knight.

Now, in Tree vs. a Rock.... I say the rock, as it would both last longer then the tree (and so would win by default as it would be around long after the tree was reduced to dust, and also because the rock could smash up the tree :evilgrin:

Why does that matter? Sure Ginyu was nothing compared to Goku but compared to humans well there's not comparison. And if he doesnt' get his team should team rocket really get their pokemon? And would they have the ability to have any pokemon or just the normal crap they use on the show? And even they we're talking planetary destruction compared to bubble beam, smog, and pinecone blast.

Really though Kai, Ginyu was pretty useless except for his Body Change ability. So, Team Rocket (including their pokemon, as Jesse and James are pretty completely useless) therefore would be what I'd put up against Ginyu. Personally I'd love to see who would come out winning, Ginyu or all of Team Rocket's pokemon.

Ginyu was useless compared to Goku however he still had more power than the rest of the Ginyu force who as I remember defeated Gohon, Krillan, and Vegeta (at his older weaker stage). Whether or not he was easy picking for Goku he was still able to do some serious damage. His body-change ability was more of a last chance, kamikazee move.
