For anyone like myself with the newer, slim PSTwo [only in North America, I think, but perhaps all with the newer model should check to be safe], I urge you to follow the link as a precaution:

Thanks for the heads up bud, I'll be checking my roommates PS2 when I get home from work now. Thanks :)

This is not the only problem I have heard that the slim models have had. I've heard that it's core, psu, bios, whatever, is the worst of all the ps2 models so far. It's life isn't as long as the other models would be the best way to put I think.

Yeah, I'd heard that before too. I've also heard you need to be careful of the new one's overheating too, but I've never firsthand heard of anybodies ps2 dying from overheating, so I dunno. But I've heard of it though....

That's funny, since my new one is working way better than the old one ever did. Stuff seems to run faster, although maybe that's just skewed perception on my part. And my AC adapter was in the clear.

And I'll just trade it in towards a PSThree one day, anyways.

They do run quicker from what I've noticed, there's just more of a chance they'll overheat then the other's due to no fan in them :p
