Mario or Link?

Okay, We may have been arging quite some time about Peach, Zelda, Gannondorf, and bowser, but waht about or two main fronts to Nintendo? Mario and Link?

I have to go with Link, He has more moves than Mario, (even if he can't jump up walls) and, I think he's cooler looking. But enough about me. What do you think?

I say Mario gets my Vote. Link is nothing but a faerie boy. At least Mario is a fat plumber who doesn't try to be anything more then he already is. Plus Mario was hilarious in Mario RPG :D

I'd have to go with Mario, if not just for the creativity of the character. Link is what? An elf/knight like character . . . . it's been done in books and movies and whatnot . . . but a fire shooting, mushroom eating plumber . . now that's good stuff.

It bugs me that you never see Link talk...but he looks better in tights than Mario...

Plus, I generally don't like Mario because I used to die really quickly in his games usually by one slip like pressing the jump button a little late and plummeting to my doom. :p

At least Link does all the jumping for you. ;)

You just need to master the mario games Yuffie :p. I've sat down and played through them all without dying once before (though I doubt I could do it right now, it's been too long), all it takes is practice. And as for Link, Mario would so definently kick his ass :chair:

Characterwise I don't really prefer one or the other, I think they are both original in there own ways, Mario more so at base, but the three alternate Links in Majora's Mask were pretty cool.
Then there's the flipside, my inherent dislike of feyish creatures from years of playing D&D, and the fact that I know Mario creators were on something when they came up with him.

In the end I went with Link, because as a friend of mine pointed out,
"He's not technically an elf, he's a Hyrulean." And I have no personal vendetta againt Link because, unlike elves, it's very difficult to come off as an arrogant prick when you don't talk.

I figured I'd test this in a more practical way...

So first I played super smash bros and battled Link and Mario together. :D
Link won.

Then I got 2 budgies, one for each player and got them to race to a treat. Again Link won! It's fate! :amazed:

Mario will always be Nintendo's Mascot as we will never see a Hyrule Party or Zelda Kart. Link however will always be able to kick mario's butt and is more popular amongst the populace...
