Ganondorf. He was pretty lame in Wind Waker, but before that

Yeah, any pig/goblin/troll/whatever hybrid with mean pitchfork throwing skills is A-OK in my book. Bowser's just a whiner with a clown fetish....http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/knockedout.gif

I only remember Ganondorf from the Ocarina of Time and he seemed a pretty standard bad guy in that...although he wasn't very evil as far as bad guys go. :p
Bowser...I just can't take him seriously as a bad guy when he's so cute!
Hmm...but Ganondorf has to change his look, the whole red but receding hair look is not him.
So to answer your question I dunno :D
Edit: Ok I'll go for Ganondorf

Me, I go with bowser. I mean, classic mario, and bowser get's credit for never giving up. He just keeps stealing the princess, and she just keeps on getting rescued by mario. You gotta admire his determination ;)

Well, playing devil's advocate, could you not say the same about Ganondorf? It always seems as if he keeps on trying to gain the Triforce of Power, or kidnap Zelda, or whathaveyou?
I say they are both extremely tenacious, but Bowser still his clown fetish and WAYYYY too many bratty kids. [Where in the hell is his wife?]

yeh that too
I'm going with my homie Ganondorf. Yeah he did suck in Windwaker. Because he was big and stuff.

Went with Ganondorf, I suppose he is just better in my book.

I have to go with Bowser. He's only gotten cooler looking as time has gone on. I hate the new look Ganondorf took with Ocarina. I knew him to only be a monster pig, not a monster pig that is a Gerudo on the side.
Yuffie
07-07-2005, 09:47 AM
I found the whole Gerudo concept somewhat disturbing...a whole tribe with only one guy? It must be like a dream for him but that turns into a nightmare when he realises there's no escape! :amazed:
The red hair suits the women much better than him as well. :wonder:

I go with ganondorf cause atleast fighting him is long, hard and takes more than jumping on someone's head(Super Mario Bros.), sprinkling somebody with water(Super Mario Sunshine), or swinging someone by the tail(Super Mario 64)
to beat him.
I say they are both extremely tenacious, but Bowser still his clown fetish and WAYYYY too many bratty kids. [Where in the hell is his wife?]

jumping on someone's head(Super Mario Bros.)
In Super Mario Bros., if you jump on Bowser's head, you die, not Bowser. :p

Ganondorf all the way. In Mario RPG, Bowser went soft and joined Mario's side. If Ganondorf ever did anything like that to Link and friend(s), he do it in disguise and then slit Link's throat nine ways to Sunday as soon as Link breaks the seal or retreives the amulet or some such plot device.
I say they are both extremely tenacious, but Bowser still his clown fetish and WAYYYY too many bratty kids. [Where in the hell is his wife?]
Sorry, bjp, but she's in another castle.
Yuffie
07-19-2005, 06:16 AM
That place sure has a lot of castles...
And they always seem to be decorated in the same rather drab way.
Astrolounge
07-19-2005, 11:38 AM
As opposed to real castles which are just BURSTING with decorum.
Except the royal ones, they're fancyesque.

I used to have a my little pony castle, it was pink and purple and quite frankly rocked. :)

07-19-2005, 04:21 PM
... Now me, I had those lego castles. Knight Kingdom all the way :p
Yuffie
07-19-2005, 05:32 PM
I wanted one of those but never got one... :(
The most nifty kids toy I got was a remote control motorcylce for Barbie :p
Locke
07-19-2005, 06:08 PM
I got tons of those when I was little. Now my youngest brother has all of them and has moved on to getting his own Lego Knights sets now.
Doreagarde
07-20-2005, 12:42 AM
Lego Knights ruled! I collected a ton of those soldier guys with the lion on the shield. I even bought the King of the Lego Knights, and his name was King Johnathan Poptart II (his father was a pirate)! That's not actually true of the Lego Knights story line... I was just a lonely kid...
Anyway, I voted Ganondorf, but I have one beef with the pig-man. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, he would always pose with that enormous, Buster-esque sword, which was prooty cool, but it wasn't a usable weapon. What's the point? He never had a sword in the games; if anything, he should be given a trident, like in Zelda 1 and Link to the Past. So infuriating!
Yamauchi is such a tease...
Locke

I remember King Jonathen Pop Tart the second. We had numberous Lego misadventures, as I recall, right up to creating a Lego movie with stop animation. The good old knights of the breakfast table..... Ah the memories.
Bowser all the way :D
I'd have to go with Bowser, common now the reptile king has his own castle, empire, army of minions ranging from goomba to koopa to boo etc....
He doesn't have to do anything and yet he still puts in his own time to get the job done . . . . . even if Mario undoes his work time after time after time .. . . . .
Locke
08-08-2005, 03:16 PM
Gotta give him credit for being persistant
You kind of have to think that had Bowser wanted to kill princess he could have. By the time Mario gets to the final castle all would be over.
Maybe we should be comparing their foes??? Mario vs Link . . . . . ?!?!?
Locke
08-10-2005, 03:47 PM
I vote for Mario. Mario was nothing but a fat plumber tossed into something completely bizzar (maybe a bad mushroom trip where the mushrooms attacked him, who knows), wheras Link is nothing but a little faerie boy. Mario at least is human (who can throw flaming balls of snot in the first couple of them :p)
umm . . . . Link had more abilities and what not (magic, sword, etc, etc..) but then so did Mario in some games (RPG, Sunshine) err. .. I don't know it's kind of apple and oranges.
Locke
08-11-2005, 01:20 PM
Come on now, Mario jumps on things and link is accompanied by a ball of light that yells "LISTEN"
Yuffie
08-11-2005, 08:10 PM
It kind of bugged me that you never see what Link says...
And are those tufty side hair bits really necessary...? They're not exactly sideburns...just....tufty bits.
But then I'm also creeped out by short fat Italian plumbers with moustaches...
Personally I'd have to say Sonic is better than either of them. :evillaugh:

The Mario characters all have a strange bubble like quality to them...you can probably draw each character only using circles and ovals. :D
Although I didn't much like the Windwaker Link...it's like they got lazy and didn't bother with the detail.
Sonic's ok until you watch the cartoon...there's just something wrong about a talking, racing blue hedgehog that can have perfectly normal chats with humans.
Doreagarde
08-16-2005, 11:47 PM
What did you say, Yuffie?! Are you insulting the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon? That was one of my favorite shows, ever! Mind you, I was only, like 6 at the time, but it was still awesome! I always demanded that Mom cook hot dogs whenever she made chili, so I could have chili dogs and run really fast! It rocked!
The games were great too, for the Sega, but the 3D Sonic games have been diverging too much from the origional formula of running around and going thru loops. I miss the good old days, whe Sonic would move so fast you couldn't see where you were going, until you were tricked into falling into a pit or missing out on a truckload of rings. Level design in the 90s was unreal.
p.s. ganandorf is teh c00l3st
Yuffie
08-17-2005, 05:05 AM
Level design in the 90s was cruel!
Although I did watch Sonic on tv the other day. :D
It just...happened to be on...
But anyway! I was kinda freaked out by a girl hedgehog with a heart who kept hitting on everyone...she's a hedgehog dammit!! Can't anyone else see what's wrong with that?! :amazed:
Locke
08-17-2005, 03:54 PM
Yeah.... that's just one of those things that happens.
Now now Yuffie, we all know you wish you could be the girl hedgehog ;) :p.
On a more serious note, Bowser still kicks Ganondorfs butt :D
Yuffie
08-17-2005, 06:24 PM
I can curl up in a ball just fine and I don't need spikes to protect myself! Plus I don't need to be hedgehog to hit on guys. :D
Although I would like the ability to fly...so let's find another animal. :p
Locke
08-17-2005, 07:38 PM
Look, an Eagle  (sorry, referance to a John West Salmon commercial)
Blade Tanaka
08-18-2005, 07:30 PM
Hmm where did that come from, I know the commercial... But still... WHAT!?
Locke
08-18-2005, 07:57 PM
Well.... Yuffie said she'd like to be able to fly, which spurred my thoughts towards things that fly, which made me think of an eagle, which made me think of that commercial.
I hadn't slept in a while when I made that post, sorry
Bowser still kicks butt :D

08-19-2005, 08:54 AM
Eagles can fly...have great eyesight...can kill harmless ickle creatures...but can they swim? I'd like the best of both worlds. :D
Oh, yeah, and go Ganondorf! :p
Locke
08-19-2005, 03:54 PM
Bowser's still winning ;) You can go Ganondorf all you want Yuffie, but Bowser's still winning.
Ganondorf. proof? Super Smash Bros Melee. longer reach, more power, slightly faster but most importantly better taunt =]
Locke
08-26-2005, 08:30 AM
Ganondorf is just a pansy that needs the triforce to be anything. Bowser uses his own strength to get the Job done. I say vote for Bowser  not for Ganondorf
please. Bowsers got no reach and just lacks the evilness that ganon has. besides ganon doesn't need the triforce of power to kick butt.
Yuffie
08-30-2005, 08:39 AM
And Ganondorf looks cooler and more agile whereas you can just run round in circles to confuse Bowser. :D
Locke
08-30-2005, 03:16 PM
But bowser has class. Come on people, it all comes down to bowser being Classy :p
Yuffie
08-30-2005, 06:42 PM
Well Ganondorf is more of a gentleman than Bowser. :)
...well I can't prove that but it's still true.
He just seems more sophisticated and sociable.
Locke
08-31-2005, 01:29 PM
Bowser captures a princess because he thinks he's better for her then mario. Ganondorf is a murdering theif who's trying to steal the triforce. And you call that a gentleman :shame:
Marona
08-31-2005, 06:07 PM
better...pfft...gentleman?http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/biglaugh.gif
AHAHAHAHA XDDD OMG U WISH!!!XDDD
I like Ganondorf better. An evil, power hungry warlock sounds like a better villian than a giant firebreathing turtle. Not to say Bowser isn't awesome, but Ganondorf is just all around cool.
I don't think either is a real gentlemen, what with kidnapping princessess and destroying everything. :D
Yuffie
08-31-2005, 08:23 PM
I'd say a gentleman is a man who holds open a door for a lady. :D
Admitedly Ganondorf tends to try and crush the ladies by dropping castles on them with his last dying breath now and again but it's close to opening doors. :)
Plus Bowser could do with losing a few pounds, it's not healthy in a super villain when he has so many demands.
Locke
08-31-2005, 08:36 PM
I think you're biased against mario and bowser because they're both obese yuffie. Don't judge a book by it's cover :shame:
Yuffie
09-02-2005, 10:22 AM
But what sort of image is that doing to the world's youth? ;)
I just think muscley people make better super villains because they must be working so hard at being evil to stay that way. :D
Whereas Bowser just shuffles after you and knock him onto his shell and the poor guy's stuck. Although now I feel kinda guilty for every time he gets knocked over... O.o
Locke
09-03-2005, 07:27 PM
The worlds youth is wrote off anyways ;)
For that matter, who do you think the worlds youth would relate to more :p
Yuffie
09-04-2005, 04:26 AM
Well I'd say the typical English youth would be more like Bowser:
No brains, clashing outfits, too much junk food, stupid hissy fits and daft ways of walking.

Y'know, suddenly I had a new thought... I don't really like EITHER Bowser or Ganon... However I must make one complaint about the shooting down of Ganon eirlier in this thread. A few people said they didn't like Ganon in Windwaker, personally he was my favorite version so far... I've yet to play Twilight Princess... Y'see, when you fought Ganon in windwaker, the battle was amazing, he had tow Katanas and it was actually hard to hit for the first while because his patter kept changing and if you used the same move more than a few times he'd start to block it and not let you get any hits through... Saying he was big and stuff is kinda a lame excuse for not liking a boss...
As for Bowser, I agree with Doregarde when he said, bad move on joining Mario, even if it was for profit and the caption said that you joined his side. That and Bowser never really got more and more challanging.. I mean come one, Mario 64 you grab bowser by the tail and toss him into things or off of things... Mario Sunshine, again you spin him around and toss him into or off of things... At least in Zelda they took a twist once in the four sword series, Vaati, and made a new enemy for once, as well as in Link's awakaning for the GB, the dream thingy... I don't really remeber.
What we really need is fresh bosses, Give Ganon and Bowser a brief intermission of the sorts... It's kinda like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their never ending quest to thwart Shredder.

I also enjoyed Bowsers replacement as lead bad super villian in Super Paper Mario, by Count Bleck. The game was rather entertaining, and hillarious!
