i suppose the ending of FFX was a little emotional too, but no game makes me physically cry, sorry to disappoint :D

i second geosgaeno. However I suppose getting tears and feeling emotional is kinda the same so I voted yes.

I have not physically cried at any film, game or tv programme since I first watched Bambi when I was younger.

Bambi is the best example of emotional excellence I have ever seen. The scene where the mother gets shot is prob the most harrowing scnene in history of viewing. I believe in a nationwide poll here in the uk it was voted as such which came as no surprise to me.

Come to think about it the scene with the mother and son elephant on Dumbo was pretty bad, my uncle cried at that;)

So no not cried but held back from...yes;) [runs away before he gets beat up by rpgamers male populous]

Lol. Lesse. I cried at the end of FFX, Rhapsody, Legend of Dragoon, and ... I think threads of fate. xD

I have no idea about the game itself, but the staff roll music of Devil May Cry 1 ("Seeds of Love") moves me everytime I hear it.

One couldn't imagine such a perfect ending for such a dark game : after two hours of battling and gothic music, hope and human emotions can finally be heard ! It almost makes me shed a tear at every listening...

That is the oly reason why I dis;ike Sephiroth. And the closeest reason as to hating FF VII But I don't and Arith is still alive through Kindom Hearts. I think that game may have made me cry a few times. Or at least move me to tears. ^o^

I cry in the Lion King, of course I cry at video game endings! :p

By cry I mean...I get something in my eye...

Sometimes I just cry because it's the end of a difficult game or because I don't know what I'll do when I'd normally be playing that game.

you dislike FF7, thats....weird. FF7 rocks and the character of Sephiroth makes the game that little bit special, and the killing of Aerith is cool too.

well FF7 was my fave game so maybe thats why i argue against youhttp://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/wink.gif

FF 7 is what got me back into RPG's after a long hiatus from them, but Vandal Hearts is what got me mind bogglingly addicted to the genre.

What if you play so long your eyes start bleeding... Does that count?

I don't cry at certain games but it'd be nice to think I could. :p

By certain games, I mean games like Kingdom Hearts where Sora has to leave his friends and home for the better good and you know they'll be reunited and they'll always be in each other's hearts.... :bawl:

I like endings with hope, love and future. :)

That's not quite what I ment. FFVII is one of the best RPG's I know. I meant that if I were to hate it. It would be because Arith dies and she was my favorite character. ANd the most usefull too.

I can't say I've every cried from a video game. I'd say the closest I've come would be in FFVI when Locke's past is revealed as to why he's so protective of the women that he meets. Wow, how touching :o

Hum... Can't say. When Aeris died in FF7, I was enraged... :realmad:

I can imagine there have been games making my sad, to the point of tears...

I just saw anime called Grave of Fireflies... Did the trick. :bawl:

It's cute how you all rush in to defend a game if it gets insulted (even if it wasn't really getting insulted).

Very touching guys. :p

I thought the ending of FFX was also emotional probably because all the people looked real. :P

I cry at most endings. Happy, sad, hopeful, tragic...I either cry because I'm happy about it or because it's so sad it deserves tears.

But most of all I cry at endings where the two lovers overcome everything and can finally stay together. :D

I can't say that I've ever cried from a video game... Unless you count crying from playing tetris for 3 hours straight and not blinking enough... then I would have to say that I have. http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

....crying for tetris...so horrible it must have been >_>

I've changed a lot in a few years, I used to be terrified of simple things like climbing trees because of the risk that a branch could break but at the same time I never cried about anything really, even if a pet died.

But now you can't really stop me taking big risks and dangling off of trees and things but I cry at really wussy stuff. :)

Lance Alvein
06-15-2005, 04:11 PM
It wasn't really crying, it was just that my eyes had tears in them from not blinking enough. :p
And Yuffie... I don't think i was ever terrified of trees... even after falling out of several... or of biking... even after getting stitches.... or... *the list goes on* :p

I just used to think about risks too much.

Although having said that, I never cried when I did get hurt. :p

Now I'm normally the 1st to test if I can hang upside down by my toes on the monkey bars.

Lance... Get a life my friend.. Either that or you should go to rehab for you tetris addiction... You scare me.

I was never a tetris person...it's like a game that requires thought, speed, intelligence etc...not my sort of thing. :)

Lance Alvein

I've got a life... it may not be much of one, but it's mine :p ... and they won't accept me at rehab for my tetris addiction. :p

Well Lance, if you can somehow talk your way into rehab, whatever you do, remember this. Do not, under any circumstances, chug a beer just before going. When they make you take a breathealizer and you fail, you get in big trouble. :p

Note: I have never been to rehab, but a good friend of mine had to for something or other and he pulled that trick. Wasn't a good idea :P

Also, I've still yet to cry from a video game. :p

I've teared up over some beautiful arranged rendtions of video game music, but never from an event in a game.

>.O; My eyes watered pretty good at the end of Chrno Crusade, but I guess that isn't a game.

-Semi spoiler for Tales of Symphonia-

Uhm, I was depressed if you got the the part where you get Kratos instead of Zealos in ToS. I liked Zealos by that time ((Second time through))

It has to be a nice blend of music, graphics, story etc. to make a really emotional moment.

For instance, imagine the cut scene in FF7 where Aeris dies and her hair ribbon falls off etc. without the music or if it was just shown in normal game mode without the nicer graphics.

Hmm, is this topic still on? so long since last post..oh well, I'm noob poster here so might as well.
Yes I have cried and yes I am a guy.

Suikoden 2- When Nanami dies (no I wont spoil by saying more)
ZOE- during the telling of the main character's past
FF7- godammit and Great gospel was so good too.
Disgaea, Hour of darkness-Iono, some parts just made me laugh soo hard.
Star Ocean 2- well after the fiftieth ending or so getting one that you already have hurts.

Hmm, there are more but I think the Suikoden 2 one was prolly the only emotional one.

Emotions can run high while playing any good game, but I get choked up just thinking about the Pandemonium scene in FFIX, where Zidane has that epiphany at the end of Disc 3. Killer music. I hardly go a week without listening to 'You're Not Alone!' just once.

Also, the opening to Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is has a moving score.

Lowest emotional point for me in a game would be when Locke reveals the whole Racheal thing. Highest emotional point would be in Mario RPG when you find out for the first time that bowser is joining your team.
