Hello, all. I'm new here, and am having some trouble logging on to Bamatone's FTP.

First off, I've used an FTP before. I just haven't had this sort of trouble before.

I use Core FTP Lite, and I got this error while logging on:
530 PORT command only accepts client IP address (66.61.28.141!=192.168.0.12).

I've looked up the error (530) on the FAQ, stating something like "not logged in." That just seems a little vague, and isn't helping too much.

After getting this error, I get the following messages:
timeout
Error loading directory...
426 Cannot retrieve. Failed. Aborting
421 Connection timed-out !

So... now what? Can anyone help me out?

Yeah, I get the same error. Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to fix it. Have you tried passive mode?

Yeah, I tried using passive mode, but I get the same result. Then again, it says to avoid using passive mode on the ftp.

Well 2 options, you can B patients and wait until Bama Answers you or you can talk to him via AIM, BUT!!!! If he is unavailable of the moment dont leave a lot of message just one and soon as he gets over what he is doing he will answer you, I would like to help you but I myself had the same trouble and search in other FTP ( but to b honest Bama has a good Collections) :D

Hmm, sounds familiar.. like a guy I talked to on AIM and mIRC tonight, heh. Anyway, what you can try to do is find a place in the FTP client settings that allows you to type in your real IP address. What is happening is the server software asks for your IP, and in return it's getting your router internal IP - 192.168.x.x. I know Filezilla and Bulletproof FTP have this option to input your real IP, so I guess others do too. I have never tried this method, but it's worth a shot, right? Good luck!

That works... to an extent. It then proceeds to time out after the LIST command. Hmm... I'll try to think of another solution.

I'm using some different server software now (Filezilla Server) and I've had some success using passive mode. Hopefully most problems should be ironed out now!

Slight trouble...
After the first successful connection, it said 'no connections allowed from my IP' when I attempted to log on later.
I don't recall hammering at any point (in fact, I tend to be somewhat paranoid if I need to shut it down for any reason, making sure I go well over 60 seconds.)

Any other problems might be causing this, or did I accidentally hit it a little early and get shipped to the ban list...?

which client are you using?.... When i begin using Filezilla, I didn't know that it came with the option of multiple connections enable by default and for that reason many server ban me, so maybe could be that.

I'm currently using SmartFTP.

Don't worry, no one is banned. When you get that particular error message (no more connections allowed from ip), it means you are still connected to my server from before. I don't know how SmartFTP works, but if it's like Filezilla by default then it tries to log onto the server twice at the same time, which the server software won't allow. Try to change this in your SmartFTP settings. Otherwise, you just have to wait until your other connection to the server times out (2 minutes).

FYI: My IP address has changed. I have no idea why. First time it's been changed in a couple years or something. See my server page for the new address: http://www.rpgamers.net/Games/MirrorPage.php?userid=3.
