I have fallen into playing Sonic again. I think I'm going to go through all Sonics actually just for the old times sake. It has been something like 13 years or so since I last played these games. It's about the time to polish those rusty Sonic skills.http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/biglaugh.gif

I'm playing those older games again.:D It's Bubble Bobble's turn to get me to my gamehistory. It's about 14 years since I last saw this game. It makes me wonder how could I manage those years.:amazed: I just simply have to play trough this game during this day. No matter what.
If you get the best ending in Bubble Bobble during this day, I salute you :D Because, it's rather hard.

You're right it is hard. Have been playing over five hours now and the game over comes every time when I have played 80 or so levels. I suck, 120 levels to go. Haven't even reached the halfway yet. It's going to be a long week.;)

Unbelievable noone has posted here since my last post. Well, I've been playing Soulcalibur II today. Also played some Secret of mana.:p
Two different kinds of games but I enjoy playing both of them. Soulcalibur II is a game where you just fight like a maniac. Ok some kind of technique is suitable but anyhow. Secret of mana needs more gentle touch and gives me a completely different feeling.

GOD OF WAR
this game kicks major ass. i'm really impressed. nice fighting and combos, GREAT music (the instructions claim a free download of the soundtrack, i'll have to check it out), and the graphics look really nice too. I guess there a reason why EGM picked it as their game of the month.
\
I'd recommend to anyone, especially you DMC fans. And maybe all you folks in the evil club, also. (You do have the opportunity to kill civilians for health and blast minotaurs with a huge-ass crossbow)
-bjp
Yeah, I have heard only good things about that game. May need to check it out at some point.
bjp4444
04-01-2005, 12:55 PM
yeah, it think it's sorta innovative. little things stand out. for example, gorgons. to kill them, you jump on top of them when weak, and the turn the controller in circular motions to rip the head off. that's thinking smart. when the gorgons do hit you with thier stony glare, you have to rock the controller back-and-forth until you break free (or any shattered, what i wouldn't do for a soft....http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/wink.gif) cyclops have weak eyes, and etc. the team behind this put some real thought into it, I believe.
oh yeah, and there is the threesome scene after the end of the first level with pixelated boobies! and not those gta ones either. those under 17 (at least in the US) you better not be touching this. (that's what the ratings say!)

You can't build your own house or invite 6 people to live with you and stuff on the DS version so once it's finished you're pretty limited :p
I played Grandia aaaages ago....it's the kind where I get to the end, decide I don't fancy getting killed by a random boss and stop playing then forget about it and redo the whole thing to remember the story :D

Oi, Grandia is so awesome. Stick with it! :)
I've been playing Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon lately. I'm kinda disappointed that the game was made in console terms (as in, no traditional mouse control) but it doesn't bother me much.
I'm also glad that this game made me check the latest Logitechs Gaming Ware, which now has the option to switch the analog and digital pad :) This is a reasonable solution for everyone who has ever bought the Dual Action pad only to find out that it's analog is pure crap and it doesn't take it long to lose the calibration completely to the point where recalibration is not possible. It's a type fault apparently, as I'm not the only one to experience this.
In any case, now I can use it again :)

The money grabbing company didn't include the whole game, just the 1st half, to complete it you need to buy the sequel and carry on from where you left off. It doesn't mention that in the manual at all. :wonder:
Which is rather annoying as the 1st half is lacking storywise. :p

Another Code: Lost Memories
A new DS game based around puzzle solving with a sort of overhead map on the lower screen (similar to FF7/8 world maps) and the actual view your character is seeing on the top screen.
It's a pretty cool game although some of the puzzles can be a little easy but seem to be getting more difficult and I'm not that far into the game so it looks promising. :D
Another cool feature is how the game starts when your character receives a package with a machine in it called a DAS which looks identical to...guess what?! The DS! :amazed:
So you have to do nifty little things like touch an area of the screen as if it's checking your fingerprint and if you've entered your birthday on the DS it will incorporate that into your character's profile. Of course none of this relates to the game but it does give it an added realism which is nice. :)

It's an ok game apart from not being able to save every 2 seconds (which is another natural habit) and you can't always understand the location on the screen....by which I mean it may look like a platform but you actually plummet to your doom as you realise it's just a pattern on a wall panel.

I just conquered Bad Mojo for the PC. It was an interesting little crawl-through puzzle/problem solver game where you play as a man who gets transformed into a cockroach. Apparently it came out way back in 1996, but they recently released a "Redux" version of it, so my dad and I picked it up since it's considered a cult-classic... it was fun!
Right now though, I am playing HAUNTING GROUND! *points at sig and avatar*
To fans of survival horror games, I can't recommend this game enough. Especially for female gamers. It adds alot to the creep-out factor if you're a girl playing it... can't say why though because it'd give too much away. http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/wink.gif It's an extremely unique game, as well. I'm a few dungeons into Estpolis Denki II, Lufia II's Japanese incarnation. The idea being that my knowledge of Japanese grammar and kanji are both at a decent enough level now, and I ought to work on just building up my vocabulary. I figured playing games and looking up the words I didn't know (a worryingly large amount, sadly...) might be a good way =)
With that in mind, though, I've only finished maybe two entirely Japanese RPGs before this one (unless you count games played with a translated script to hand, which I don't...). So I figured I'd play it safe and go with something nice and easy that I've played several times in English ^_^
Aside from that, I'm nearing the end of Shining Force III: Scenario I on the Saturn for the second time. The console's accursed internal memory gave out on me when I was levelling my three forces for the very last battle of Scenario III...so I had to start over. =(

Don't know if I want to play TIE Fighter. Got some mental adversity towards playing as the "bad guy".
Trying to play X-Wing Vs TIE Fighter: Flight School, but the controls seem a lot slower and the difficulty a bit harder, even on Medium. Not that many missions either.
May start X-Wing Alliance though. I want to fly in the Battle of Endor.
Other than that, don't know whether to replay Xenogears (which I finished first time last month) or replay Final Fantasy VII (due to watching Advent Children and haven't played in years, though not my favorite FF).
Anybody got any ideas?

I'd recommend going through FFVII, then through Xenogears. Both excellant excellant games.
Played burnout 3 for 10 straight hours on wednesday and got it to 3 races left to get gold's in before it's at 100%. One of my roommates beat on of the 3, now there's just a grand prix race series and then the final race after that and we've gotten 100% on the game. I also never want to touch single player burnout 3 again. Ever.
Moved on to Gran Turismo 3 again, and after I get myself to 100% of that game I'll float back to Front Mission 4 again. Eventually I'll get through them, and by then I'll have some more games to play. Should be fun :D

Currently I'm playing GT3 some more, eventually I'll get far enough in that I'll start to win better races and get some better cars. Till then, I'll just put away at it.
I like the GTA series to an extent. The freedom allowed in the later games was good for a killing spree every so often but the storylines always lacked the intensity to keep my going from one point to another when there were inocent civilians just waiting to be mowed down by my uzi.

Currently I'm busy playing Need For Speed Underground 2. A buddy of mine lent it to us for Burnout 3, so we've been sitting down and playing it pretty much non-stop since it arrived at my house. Such a fun game
I found NSU fun for a while until you get to the later parts and it just become repetitive. Of course it's one of those games that you can go back to after a few days (or weeks pending on how long you've had it).

Its been one year that I play Final Fantasy XI online and still on it. Its a wonderful game, the environment is BBIIIGGG and you have always something to discover in the world of Vanadiel.
I play Call Of Duty sometime too :)
Currently playing . . . . . well nothing at the moment, I don't really have that much time to play videogame now adays. I usually have something better to do. There is the occasional race or fps I'll pick up when at a friends but at home, until I get another PS2 I'm pretty much off games . . . .
Started Legend of Kay today. So far seems nice. :)
Fun adventure platformer thingy. :D There is also another thing about the game. The music is composed by Jake Kaufman. Most of you probably don't have a clue who he is though. :p

Well, I finished Burnout Revenge, so I picked back up FFVI and discovered the saved game of mine and the saved game of Kai's had been erased. I was rather irate, but at least there was a saved file of mine I made about 6 or 7 hours in, so meh. Picked that up and started playing it again this morning before work.

Finally got my hands on a copy of Shadow of the Colossus. Not too far into it, but I think it's breathtaking.
And Kilu, remember what I said that I had heard about the soundtrack? From what I've heard, I'd tend to agree. Pretty good stuff.

My roommate just picked up a copy of GTA San Andrea's, for the sole purpose of getting me to play through the game until he can pick it up and wreak havoc on San Andreas. Man, that just kicked ass :D
I am currently playing a flash version of speed racer. Surprisingly it is a lot like the original playstation version.

I'm kinda scared. I seem to have lost all interest in video games. Maybe that's becuse I have no consoles around to tempt me? I think I've spent about 10 hours on video games in the past 2 months. A bit of Halo, and some good ol' Secret of Mana. That's about it.

not played this game yet but i have been told it is really good, to be honest i should have heard of it but havnt.....it is 'Morrowind Elder Scrolls 3'
i dont know if i should start it because it is a massive game????? any suggestions or reviews anybody?
If you like RPGs then I'd say it's a sound game, though I must also mention it is far better for the PC because of the various expansions that came out for it. If you are getting it for the xbox then it should be reasonably priced as it is by no means a new game, and in my opinion a good buy.
The game plays kind of like Dungeons and Dragons, you create your initial player and choose what your primary and secondary abilities will be. Because of the near endless customization of your character the game has great replay value, though more so on the PC becuase of the new weapons, armor, quests, etc . .
I will mention that the graphics on the Xbox version are also quite a bit less astectically pleasing. Though that doesn't seem like a big issue, when we're talking viewing distance it does make a little bit of a difference.
The plot line in the game is also a little choppy. You can follow what they have laid out for you or attempt the numerous missions provided by guilds, random characters, etc . . .
Overall I'd say the game is worth a try, though becuse of its age you could buy it at a local game store for the same cost as renting it.

I know I played it to death on Lance's XBox, and I know for sure that I had a blast. Being able to create your own spells and affect how strong, duration, range, etc. is quite fun to do. Plus when you get to high level's the abilities you can pull off are rather fun. See if you can find the assassins (Morag Tong) guild and raise yourself to the rank of Grandmaster :D I did :D
Man, that just makes me want to get an xbox of me own and start to play morrowind again. :D
Currently right now I'm still playing through FFVI, and once I finish that I'll move on to FFVII.
Currently playing Fahrenheit (aka Indigo Prophecy in the Northern America). Unusual and so far pretty awesome game.

I found Shadow of the Collosus to be a very good and creative game, although I think it pushed the PS2 too much. The graphics suffered some from it. Still a good pick-up. Interesting story as well.

Ninja Gaiden Black for the X-Box. Ninjas rock. And I don't care what anyone else says, Ninjas are better than pirates...
Currently playing need for speed : most wanted. Not a bad game over all, you can't really compare it to underground 2 because of the different modes, cars, and gameplay. If you like the street racing type game I'd go with underground 2 as it allows for more customization however if you like cop chases and causing chaos and destruction at high speeds then I'd go with most wanted.
