lmao, in one hundred years, Nintendo consoles will still feature games with Mario, that's unbelievable ! I know that Nintendo's policy is to keep its good ol' idols on every system they make, but after years and years, it looks insane to me :p

I was a Nintendo fan when I was at the 15's but now I grow and have a better taste and my love for rpgs has grow and see that the only thing that nintendo has for RPG is Zelda I get tired of it it might have the coolest graphics but if the game is another Mario Sunshu¡ine or moonshine or SPace GOlf or mario Basketball or Zelda Kart or metroid space dance, I really prefer to have my PS2 or the next PS3 hehehehehhe but thats my 2 cents

Well with word of the new zelda they will be releasing. Should be within 5 month or so from the original planned release date I heard for the GC.

It looks pretty sweet. I will always buy nintendo consoles for the slim hope of another Zelda games and another 2D Metroid. But I doubt I will get another 2D metroid >.> I really hate the 3d move.

Like you say Razgriz, the only hope for nintendo is Zelda and Metroid out of those two, nintendo is out of Ideas,well no nintendo, his only developer or producer I dont remember, Shigeru Miyamoto (its that his name? I used to remember his name but not anymore :) ) well hope this new consoles bring new Ideas and explore more the Grown-up-games-ideas so we the older gamers have some reason to buy that console :D

Isn't it the complete opposite? Nintendo is almost the only one who actually has new and original ideas and has the balls to try and pull 'em off. Everyone else is just copying already existing stuff with new graphics and more stuff to tinker with. Sequel after sequel after sequel.

When I said they are out of Ideas I was meaning that only think in games with Mario, Link, and recently metroid, I belive they finally growing in one way, that them are letting companies like Capcom and Konami and other make stuff with more content and letting do some "grown up games" like RE, but Im still think that they still need evolve a little more to let all the gamers, not only some kind of themenjoy Nintendo consoles, Like I say I really enjoy SNES and NES cuz they have a lot of variety of game for all likes, but then comes N64 and NGC (with a little more variaty) but not enough, Maybe I wasa little wrong saying that they was out of Ideas, but I hope they realized that, all the gamers are not child, some of us, have different tastes and not all of us like the Mario stuff, and about what other are doing jus copying everything its right but at least are making an effort to make us enjoy a variety in games a bit differents but not only Crash or Jak and dexter......thats my 2 cents

I don't think it's about "Nintendo not letting other companies make grownup games" but more about "how the other companies don't want to make games for Nintendos consoles".

Nintendos problems is that they are too afraid of piracy. They keep everything regarding the game making in their own hands, starting from cartridges and minidvds, which they manufacture themselves. It's too strict in these days, and companies don't have the recources to buy Nintendos lisences anymore. Making games for PS2 and XBOX is cheaper.

Also, some companies don't probably want to make games for GC because of Nintendo strict policy on demo versions of games. Sony and Microsoft both have plenty of regionfree consoles provided for all the gaming media, and they hand out demo games to magazines and tv programmes to get it out there on peoples minds.
Nintendo on the other hand doesn't do this, and while PS2 and XBOX games are reviewed before they hit shelves, GC games are reviewed only after the release. This is bad marketing.

Unless that changes, Nintendos console business will die out. Good ideas and good games aren't just enough these days. They need more hype to accompany that to even stand a chance at competing against Sony or Microsoft.

I do hope that Nintendo can work their stuff out and stay on the business, because their games just own. And from the current consoles I like my GC the best :)

I don't like how both companies try to make it for their games can't be hacked. I mean no Action Replay or Gameshark. Seems like a waste of time, if someone wants to hack a game once they beat it why shouldn't they be allowed too?

ive never played Halo going through the game alone because it is crap, but i do really enjoy playing it over the with 16 other people at one time.

I think the fact that it will be backwards compatible to NES games is sorta neat. Other than that, I don't know too much more about it.

And although it's not a Revolution title, Zelda with Link as a werewolf? For at least part of it? I'm very, very curious and very, very scared at the same time.

To put my 2 cents in, I grew up with the NES and SNES, so I believe that Nintendo will steadily increase the number of games released for older audiences. It seems to me that many of their older games sold best with E or T ratings (on the NES/SNES), and so they thought that that was a formula for success. IMO, they are now realizing that those people who bought the E/T games are growing up and they want games with M ratings. This may be completely false, but as I said, this is what I believe.

Personally, I think that the reason why the older games with the E and T ratings were so good is because back in the day of the NES and SNES, the graphics were terrible (great at the time, mind you, but compared to nowadays, terrible) which allowed the developers to spend more time on plot developement, character depth, music, etc. which made them such great games. Nowadays for the older gaming audiance to be entertained with the graphics level we now have it needs to have excellant graphics and a fast paced gameplay. In gaining this, it seems to me that we've sacrificed much of the quality of the games we had in the old day (take FF6, Chrono Trigger, Mario Kart, The Genesis Era Sonic Games, etc.). Such is the way of modern gaming, I guess.

But nothing shown at E3 so far would indicate that. All of their games are still, at best, at a T level [other than RE4, but that's already out]. I'm not saying that's bad, I still enjoy the oldies as much as the next guy, but Nintendo is very quickly putting themselves into a niche market as the perfect second console. You'll have your PS3 or XBox360, and then get a Revolution because it will probably cost less than the other two, and it will have a small core of dedicated, great games. If that's what they want, then great.

But they are still lagging behind Sony, and I hate to say it, Microsoft, when it comes to third party games, and current technology. I mean, to watch DVDs on the Revolution you'll need an add-on? That's not going to work in today's market if you want to be on top.

Their creativity and uniquness is very nice, and I relly like that about them, but it's time for Nintendo to decide if they really want to make the push towards the top, or specialize at what they can do best. I hope they do, beacuse [i]Zelda games are ones that I always strive to play, and enjoy tremendously, I'm depressed I haven't been able to play WW yet [poor, cannot justify the GC purchase at this time].

well if you want to look at the ff7 opening fmv as normal relatime ps3 graphics look in the ps3 thread. Its 1 of the best things I have ever seen. MAN they even got the detail of what time it is (theres a clock in the opening sequence) at the start of FF7 right (9 past 12...good reason for that but i can't be arsed explaining).

From what I can gather sony is going to continue its dominance. The revolution and Xbox 360 are no comparison in terms of spec.

ok I agree with you Seymour about the coolness of FF/ PS3, but about Revolution and Xbox360, I think both have potential, but they need to Open to other resources and games and made proposition to all the game producers, so they can have more bussines, We have seen thes days, Tha as same as Gamecube X BOX only realease games that for microsoft are sales in computer unfortunely, they dont open to new games or like someone says before, the game producers, dont want to do games, so I have good expectations for all 3 consoles but especially for my fav. PS :D
