If any of you guys have noticed whenever you download songs from my server, I usually erase the ID3 tags. This was because I prefer to see the file name than the ID3 tag. It became a problem with my old MP3 CD player because it would show the ID3 tags first on its display and you couldn't change that. Also, Winamp and Windows Media Player did the same.

Now, my current MP3 CD player has many options as to what you want to see on the display (I usually leave it on track number and time of song) and Winamp can allow you to turn off ID3 tags being shown on the playlist.

So now, I have to go thru the long and annoying process of adding all the ID3 tags to all of my songs (especially after learning that Capcom allows mp3 downloads of their songs as long credit is given). Is there a good freeware ID3 tag editor program that can do groups of songs at a time (like a whole album)?

I haven't actually tried this one, but I have heard that it's okay. ID3 Intelligent Tagger (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=563&package_id=581).

It can lift tags from filenames and fill the rest with mass tagging options. So, for example if you have album called Final Fantasy and all the files are named ## - title.mp3, you can tell it to get the title and tracknumber from the filename, and tell it to fill all the album fields with Final Fantasy and artist field with Nobuo.

Seems that it only tags version 1 tags though.
