He looks cool. Im just glad there making more movies. Jude Law would of been a good one if they dyed his hair and put more meat on his bones. I always thought they should of gave Timothy Dalton more movies

i think dalton got burned out, that is why he parted ways.
and, if he's good, then he's fine with me. it's interesting, as almost all the main characters (bond, q, m, moneypenny, etc.) are all in a new era of sorts. it's like bond, version 2.0.

all these new Bonds will never compare to the old Bonds, nobody can beat Connery and Moore.
also the bond films of late dont even compare to the old Bonds, they are too off the rails. the storylines a frankly turd in comparison, let them try and beat the films like 'Goldfinger', 'Man with the Golden Gun' and 'A View To A Kill'
i wont watch another Bond film in my life because they now suck, before i watch a new one i would watch the old ones another billion times.

well, i could undertsand how one could like a view to a kill. i liked it the first time as goldfinger. think about it, it was just updated for the eighties, with a few subtle changes:
In Goldfinger, the villain's scheme is to irradiate the entire US gold reserve, making it worthless, causing financial meltdown in the West plus Auric Goldfinger's personal gold stocks will increase in value tenfold; correspondingly in A View To A Kill, Max Zorin intends to destroy Silicon Valley by triggering a massive earthquake, thus leaving his company with a monopoly on the microchip market.
As in Goldfinger, one of the business partners in the scam gets cold feet and would rather take the money and run. While Mr. Solo was assassinated by Oddjob and his body disposed of in a car crusher, in A View To A Kill, the dissenter in the ranks is dropped from Zorin's airship and into San Fransisco Bay.
Both Zorin and Goldfinger are being bankrolled by the Communists: in the former case, Zorin is an ex-KGB agent, while the atom bomb intended to destroy Fort Knox is supplied by the Chinese.
i mean it's not exactly the same story, but it's close.
i tend to agree in that my favorite bonds are probably all of the connery bonds (except diamonds are forever and never say never again, which i don't even count), but the brosnan ones have been pretty good also, IMO. they've been trying to bring bond back from the almost over-the-top comedy hour that moore brought, and the over-the-top seriousness of dalton (who really got some great stories/scripts, too bad they did not work out). i think it's working, and i've enjoyed them.
but then again, this is just the opinions of a james bond slappy who watched all twenty films in one weekend. i've been reading that the next film will be the first bond story of all, casino royale. should be interesting to see the bond/ le chiffre torture scene. especially with the repeated abuse of bond's junk. HA!

ps-now i've been reding reports that this new guy is in, clive owen may be bond, or that, in fact, brosnan is coming back. i'm confused.

He looks a bit old for the role, but I'ts going to be more than the actor that I'm worring about for Bond 21.
Connery rules.

i agree with Grey, that post did not make one bit of sence, they are nowhere near the same or they wouldnt have brought the second film out, incase people believed it was the same like you (the minority).
We'll see how it turns out.

hey, i never said it was fact. it's only my opinion, you all are certainly free to disagree. they are just similarities that i have seen and have seen others write about, that's all.

in that case im sorry, i thought you was trying to say that the producing team did it on purpose or something. well i still disagree with youhttp://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/nana.gifhttp://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

no, not or purpose, but with twenty bond films, i'm sure it can get perplexing at times to come up with some ideas that are different that past films. but sometimes that nostaliga can be fun. it was just my opinion in a view to a kill, the similarities just got way too common for me. but hey it's still abond film, and i can't fault anyone for enjoying them, i certainly do!

Has any one read any of the James Bond books by Ian Flemming.
Before you even think of saying you don't like books based on movies I'll tell you that the Books came first.
If you had of said the comment I would have been forced to kill you.

i havnt read one of the books, but Ian Fleming got very angry when they started making the films, apparently the films were not sticking to his storylines. also Fleming is against the idea of having a woman Bond, he thinks it is ridiculous.

Well Fleming died in 1964, so I really don't think they were ever thinking about a female Bond at that time, with Connery on top of the world and just finishing up Goldfinger (which, ironically, Fleming never saw)
I guess Fleming also was very "so-so" the two Bond films produced before he died. His quote after seeing Doctor No was somehting to the effect of, "fans of the book will be dissapointed, but it's still a good movie." Apparently, Fleming wanted to keep more of the sadistic and dark elements of the novels in the movies, which virtaully all production companies said no to, because they felt they would not be profitable (probably might be today, but not in the 1950s or 60s). Therefore, I would guess Fleming got caught in a bind which might have eventually led him down a path, if had lived longer, to despise the Bond films.

jeeesh i didnt know that, (slap on wrist), i thought from all the choas over letting them have a female Bond that fleming had mentioned something, i was clearly wrong, not unless i was told by someone else that he opposed it if that is the case they bneed a slap on the wrist also.
anyway im also against a female bond, if they put a female in James Bond would lose all meaning.

Really, I hadn't heard anything about the possibility of a female Bond. The idea seems a little out there, given the history of the character.
Could this possibly be a spin-off series, or a new line of films to mimic the Bond ones?
-bjp
Bond, James Bond Junior! Oh jeez. Considering that horrible animated series, I don't doubt for a second that someone actually might consider female bond spinoff. Maybe Bond marries some agent, and thus the name. Or maybe it's Bonds bastard daughter.

Well obviosuly, the new Bond is out. And if you ask me it's WAAAAAAY better than Die Another Day which was real crap IMO.
This time Daniel Craig takes the role of Bond and he does it well. A new Bond, more arrogant takes the job.
PLus, if you like poker, this will give you lots of fun.

To be honest I am dreading it. A common criticism seems to be the writers have made it into a pandering action movie complete with typical braindead and unneccesary violence. I will judge when I have plucked up the courage to see it.
I think anything is better than Die another day lol. It was god awful. (though I did like the villain alot, he is a great actor)

i saw it. i thought it was the best bond film i've ever seen. so faithful to the book, it's scary. jokes were well placed, and it was just a well-acted, well-written movie. i really enjoyed it.

It was a really good movie. Daniel Craig may not look like Bond, but he's a better actor than most of the others...and Casino Royale was better than those Pierce brosnan films. =p
