After watching a lot of anime just lately, I thought there was something missing from the forum. Then wham http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/smash.gif I realised we didnt have an official anime review post http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/eyepopping.gif. In a way like with most things, it will give visitors and ponderers a bit more info about the anime etc. And hell why we are at it we could post a link to the official fansite etc for each anime review we do and so on.
Over the next few days I will get my act together and write the reviews for my completed collections:

Ah My Goddess The Movie
Angelic Layer Series
Arc the Lad Series
Cardcaptor Sakura Series
Cardcaptor Sakura The Movie
Cardcaptor Sakura The Movie 2
Chobits Series
Final Fantasy Unlimited Series
Magic Knight Rayearth Series 1
Miyuki-chan in Wonderland OVA
Paranoia Agent Series
Rayearth OVAs
RG Veda OVAs
Star Ocean Ex Series
Tokyo Babylon OVAs

X The Movie
Xenosaga The Animation Series

If anyone adds a review before me, thats fine, I may just add a little note to what I thought. By all means feel free to post any anime reviews you like.

Hmmm my first review O_O.

Arc the Lad
Episodes 1-26

For the very few that don't know this is based on the Playstation games 'Arc the Lad' and 'Arc the Lad II'. I have personally only played a few hours of each game so I cannot comment too much on how they translate from the games. My understanding is that they are based around the second game whereas the first game is obviously the background story.

I decided not to rate them as we all have different opinions etc. What I will do is give a brief to the story, some of the characters and how I personally felt with the story/animation and direction it went.

The main character as with the second game is Elk. He witnessed his family and entire village burned when he was a young child. The image he remembers of that fatefull day is of the Silver Noah. A large ship from the neighbouring nation. This ship is owned by Arc and his companions, whom the majority of people believe to be a dangerous outlaw, killer and thief. Elk had been taken to White House, an experimentation compound for children, after this fatefull moment in his life. But mentioning more of his past may spoil some of the story. His past does create his character, although at times he shows to be arrogant and childish. But he is only young anyway lol.

Shu is a member of the Hunters Guild, really a sort of mercenary group. They go after bounties etc. Shu finds Elk wandering in the desert at a time before the series begins. He takes Elk in and brings him up as a younger brother in a way. They are close friends with great respect for each other. Shu is a well known figure in the Hunters Guild, possibly the best there is. Elk is also known but more for the fact of a unique ability that he has. They seperate there own ways during the series but do become colleagues towards the end.
Lieza has an ability that is given fruition towards the climatic end of the series. Both Lieza and Elk meet for the first time in the first episode. They become friends, and as you may of guessed lovers in a way. Lieza is a kind of balance for Elk. She helps him mature throughout the series. Although light on a background of her she is integral to the series.

Arc, well he is seen as a bad guy for quite a time in the series. Those that have played either of the first or second game know the truth and what to expect from him. A very well balanced character, whom shows a lot of passion for his fellow people towards the end. Another character that I cannot mention too much about as it will upset the rythm of the series if you watch it and haven't played the games.

To be continued when I have a few minutes.

Edit...Removed image links to free up space in my album folder.

I have abandonned this thread, shame really, if I had more time it could have been half decent. If anyone does wish to continue by all means feel free :).
