I'd like to know how many hours have you played in a row.I have played for example FF-games 21 hours in a row. It would be nice to know whether this amount of hours is freaky or not.

I find 21 hours rather hard to believe. That means no breaks just straight playing no food breaks or anything? I'm pretty sure you'd have to be on cocaine to stay up 21 hours straight just looking at a TV.

Nah I don't think that's what he means... I've played for long amounts of time but stoped for food and washroom n' what not... He could have just let the game run while doing stuff too... The longest I've ever played... well 5-10 hrs I guess I never play too long or sit around a lot... heh heh ^o^

I'm pretty sure you'd have to be on cocaine to stay up 21 hours straight just looking at a TV. I don't know about you but I don't need drugs to stay awake 21 hours. That 21 hours felt like it was nothing but this has happened only once or twice and the game was the legendary FFVII. To add to this eating matter, in the army I spent couple of days without eating, so eating is not a problem.it isn't that I'm recommending 21 hour sessions to everyone or something. When playing it felt nothing but after ending the session I slept 15 hours.
My longest is probably around 16 hours or so :) With occasional 5 minute breaks to take a leak or something. This my first run for Secret of Evermore, which hooked me from the start. But that's about it.

Good to know that someone else has same kind of experiences. And hearing that from the Kilu is something fabulous because I know that this guy is smart guy rather than a freak.
Haha. Since when I became a smart guy

Impossible for me to say, but definately over 15 hours (perhaps over 20) It would have been FF7. I stayed awake not playing games for 72 hours non stop not so long ago too...its no good playing games for extreme long times...you are not at your best :)

i would say about 12hrs, i remember doing it on FF9 because i didnt have anything to do so i continued my game for 12hrs until i was totally wasted and had to go bed.
its a great feeling to stay up playing a game because afterwards you get the reward of a huge sleep, i dont recommend to people who have school or work the next day, believe me its not nice to wake up at 6am and you cant open your eyes.

I totally agree with Grey Fox on that. Especially FF-serie has been addictive for me. I don't remember playing any other game more than 5 hours without breaks. Final fantasy serie instead has made me play several times over 10 hours.

I play many over 5..metal Gear series always from start to finish in 1 go. Breath of Fire 3 was very addictive too:)

yes i recently play MGS3 all in a row. some games though like FF7 are hard to put the pad down but you know you have to go to bed sooner or later, and i hate it when that happens because you get scared of forgetting the storyline

12 or more hours depending on the game. The hours sometime fly by. No hunger, sleep, only washroom breaks the cycle.
Spent many hours on ff8. Isnt it great?

It would have been nice to see your face after you had noticed that you've lost your memory card.:D I bet it was something pretty horrible.:biglaugh:
I've also lost some saved data once but it was because my memory card broke down. I had luckily just started the game so no harm done there.
Just played some Tetris but there's no way I could play that game more than an hour at a time. It really debends on the game you are playing whether you play it over 10 hours or not.

i sat dow and beat SoM in pretty much one sitting when i first got it, i was younger and much more hyper, couldnt say for sure how long that was, it was a while ago (back when the super nes was new)
done some insane D2 sessions as well back when i still palyed online, from avt one to baal in one go, that includes doing all of the quest in each act, not jsut rushing someone.
of course thers minor breaks in between for taking a piss and grabbing munchies, i like munching on grapes while i play :P
evermore was cool, but alas quick, it is very beatable in one go if you have all day, i think a couple extra worlds were in order for that game. (though if you dont have a good memory a couple of the mazes are pretty nasty

I don't want to start a new thread for this one cause it's so close to this thread.
Well, how many hours you spent daily on the internet. Those hours doesn't have to be in a row just make an approx estimate.
During last weeks the time I spent on the internet has been inreasing rapidly.
It is moslty because of this site. I really like to view those opinions of yours. The time I don't spent reading your posts, I usually spend browsing sites related to my other hobbies.
And despite that you all have read the rules I want to remind you of this particular rule." all site vs site posts will be edited or removed"

gaming: i don't remember how long, but i know doing the 100 level dungeon in x-2 and dodging those damn lightening bolts in X both took a while. (i'm not even going to say how many times i got like 190 and blinked at the wrong time or something)

is that FFX your talking about there? if so then i didnt think it took that long to dodge 200bolts in a row, sure it was nerve racking but still it took me 30min or less all to get a stupid Venus sigil.

Today I have spent 12 hours on the net and that I think is the avarage time I spent on the net. Naturally there's days when I just don't have time enough to check out sites. Mostly it is because of the studies that sometimes take the hole day. O_OBut when I have some spare time I usually spend it on the net.

Yeah, I'm not sure why, those bolts took me a while. The butterflies and the chocobo racing was easy, but the bolts got me. I guess it's different for each of us.

Well considering I have dial up I spend quite a bit of time online. On avrerage bout 5 hrs a day.... somtimes in one sitting... heh heh tying up the phone lines go me! ^o^

Geez...I thought the Chocobo racing to get 0.0 seconds was much harder and took me longer than the 200 bolt dodges. But perhaps that's just me...
bjp4444
03-24-2005, 04:23 PM
with the bolts, i would keep getting pulled into a lull from the repitition, and zone out. at least with racing, there were those damn birds to keep me awake.

You remember on FF7 you could press all the L and R button to get stanima to rise....well the same trick here on FFX gives you control over the chocobo and it is then much easier. The first time I played the game I did not know this and it took ages. I kicked the TV screen :wall:
Lightening dodge was easy....just took time. Butterfly quest took patience and some skill:)

1 thing on FFX that did take time to master was the chocobo race under the 'Remiem Temple', and also if your talking about things that took a lot of time i believe you have all forgot about those blitzball games and battles to retrieve wakka's Jupiter Sigil, now that took FOREVER.
bjp4444
03-25-2005, 12:32 AM
the blitzball was random. you could just keep going in and out until you got the prize you wanted. just an FYI for your next adventure.

sorry BJP your wrong there. if you want to recieve the Jupiter Sigil you must first win all wakka's overdrives, and to do this you must play loads of blitzball games with 700 battles against fiends in between.
bjp4444
03-25-2005, 12:20 PM
found this online, for what it's worth. i guess i should have clarified that when you can earn them, just keep going in and out until you see the top prize that you want. 50 blitzball games is all you ever need to play to get jupiter sigil. beacuse once i did that, i never touched it again.
-bjp

I started playing Secret of mana today and it hooked me immediatedly. I've spent the hole day playing it. Something like 8 hours or so. This is the first game I've played this long in a day since final fantasy 10. I do hope that this game doesn't get me to play those over ten hour sessions. I really do.
I've managed to cut down those hours I spent on the net though. Playing has increased a little but not too much. I really have to blame these Easter holidays for making the playing possible.

well i remember once when i just bought Super Mario 64 (one of my best games btw) and i spent hours on end trying to retrieve every last star, i must have been on it for atleast 20hrs in a row, and still to this day there is 3-4 stars i still have to get.

For me it's actually so that I can play those longer sessions sometimes but then I can be without playing couple of weeks. I probaply should share those hours more evenly but there really is nothing to do when FF-game takes over.http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/wink.gif

When I got back from my mission, I think I played 12 hrs a day for maybe 3 weeks straight... wow... maybe more. Internet? I do internet tech suport, so maybe 9 hours a day when I work, 1/2 hour when I'm at home, can't stand dialup, it's like I'm http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/knockedout.gif dead.

Never counted properly but I guess ALOT especially on that damn game FFVII what a game!
Not the hours that matter, what you do in those hours is what counts
Yes dialup sucks :smash: but compared to data transfer across a normal network so does broadband. Roll on fibre optic Internet

How could that be considered cruel in any way? http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/confused.gif Anyways, I'll let Ephraim respond regarding his own religious beliefs, but yeah, topic on hand. I think the longest I've ever played a video game would be Final Fantasy XI, where I sat down and played it for 3 days straight, getting up only to use the bathroom. I had my roomates bring in cups of water every now and again when they wandered in, I may have eaten, I'm really not sure. But after 3 days (2 days and 19 hour's, I think was the official count), I passed out for 2 days. That's not something I would recomend to anybody.
Moral of the story is, the warning at the start of that game is there for a reason. Heed it. http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/evilgrin.gif

How could that be considered cruel in any way?well... if someone's not gay... and you ask if they're gay... then there's a chance they'll get mad at you.
i suppose the same principle could be applied to religion, maybe. >.>
