Hey guys, what's up?
I stumbled across this site a few days ago and all your FTP mirrors are great. I was wondering, those of you who don't use the default FTP software that comes with Win XP, do you know of any decent freeware for setting up FTP server? I'd love to help out, that is if this computer is capable of running an FTP without killing itself. All it usually does is have text files open and have music running.
Anyways, I'd like to thank you all for what you're doing. I though I'd never find some of these Suikoden Albums. . .Now that every single album released is right here I think I could cry.
((xP I hope this is the right area for this thread))
((>.O; Moved.))
You could try FileZilla Server, open source FTP server. I have no experience of setting up a server myself, but FileZilla Client whoops ass, so I'm assuming server does as well.
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=21558
Browse down the page, you'll find the server.exe in there.

I can definately agree with Kilu about the FileZilla FTP client, however I too have never used the server. I use G6FTP (Bulletproof FTP), an older version before they charged for it.
Default one with XP? What do you think we are, Microsoft goons? :p

Hell if I know where it's at, it not installed at default I know that. I don't know much about XP though. . .I really don't like it as much as 98. Too bad 98 was retired >.O;
*found the info on it when he was looking for way to set up an FTP earlier*

Kilu> FileZilla client kicks ass, but FileZilla server isn't that great :/ Granted, it's very stable and efficient, but the options are very limited :wonder:
I recommend GuildFTP if you're looking for an OpenSource FTP server :shades:

He must be talking about Windows 2003's FTP service...
default FTP software that comes with Win XP
You must be talking about server 2k3's ftp service it's ok but not for what we do
Should clear things up.
And btw, my XP Pro didn't have any FTP software in it. But I might also add that there are numerous different version of XP packs out there. Maybe the Media Center Edition has FTP software in it. Regular Pro or Home Editions don't. Unless it's DOS?

*shrug* Like I said, I only found out about the XP FTP when I was looking for a way to set one up. As I run on '98 anyways I only skimmed the article. . .Didn't much bother to read into it. Being that there was a Windows default FTP out there somewhere, I was just looking for a way to not use it since bare '98 doesn't have anything like that.

-uber edit of doom-
It seems my FTP has decided not to show the main directory >.O; If ya'll are getting anything at all when ya log, please tell me ~_~; *can't figure out what the hell went wrong*. . .Zeugma brought to my attention that you get a blank folder when you log. This should be fixed. . .but my FTP won't recognize it for some reason. . .
-Edit of niceness-
Well it seems to be in working order now. It's not giving me any trouble, and all the files are there. . .Hopefuly things'll stay this way.

You seem to have enough music to become a mirror. Have you emailed Locke to become one? If you're interested, you might spread joy and hapinness to people who are looking for vgm.

Actualy, yes I have >.O; I sent an e-mail a while back, and it never bounced. I dunno if he got it, or if it went to a wrong account. That's the whole reason there is a post here, with server info, though, cause I don't want to send another e-mail quite yet, if he's already got alot of back logged e-mail ~_~;

Not bad Kaze. I dunno what I want now game music wise I have everything on my list. I just need to back them all up on 2 dvd's :)
I now have 10 GB of game music mp3 but that is just covering my list and downloaded off other people, mainly Bamatone and Reth.

Thanks :D; I'm still workin' on what I have, missing alot of album that I want though ~_~ It's hard to find some of this stuff other places than these servers. I can happily say I'm not looking for anymore Final Fantasy music though :D; I missing one album, and that's cause it was a duplicate of another albume! Though I think that may have been an error on where I had downloaded it from.

:D One thing you could do would be to create an upload account and submit requests. That way, people could give you what you want instead of you having to seek it. :spin:

Actualy there is an upload account :D I just haven't submitted any requests. To be honest, I haven't even thought about that, XD;

Hey, thanks!
Well if it isn't any trouble I'd love for you to upload:
Genso Suikoden Ongakushu - Produced by Hiroyuki Nanba
Genso Suikoden Ongakushu - Produced by Kentaro Haneda
I'm a huge Suikoden fan :D It's a pity how hard it is to get some of the albums.
