Well considering Locke has shut off all feeling....

heh heh heh *realises that yuffie was using a porter potty not a meat grinder*

The one thing about pirates better than nijas that I can think of right now . . . . . they can enjoy a good time :drunk:
Locke
08-10-2005, 02:00 PM
Pirates better then nija's eh :wonder:
Thank god a ninja can kick a piratey types butt then :p
Yes, but a pirate would be too drunk to care. :pirate:
Me . . . . I'm neither pirate nor nija, just a simple creature composed of energy.
How can energy be life? Well here is a simple explanation :
Particles such as the photon are complex DNA springs already, and 1/2 of a photon is a neutrino, just like splitting a DNA down the middle. Only
the photon DNA is perfect DNA. And these cosmic particles have
this enormous energy (10^17 MEV) to convert that perfect DNA, when
stopped, rest massed, convert it into living less-than-perfect DNA,
resulting in a new living creature. (ex. me)

I see Ninjas are still winning. That's all I need to know for now. I'll be back once somthing goo dhappens in Naruto to boast about how Awesome Ninjas are. Untill then all you Vader haters out that oughta wacht youselfs or We;ll blow you rplanet up... (Aww crap wrong thread...)
Well it would depend on how dense I choose to be while projecting an image on the material world. (at the moment I've only had one cup of coffee so it would more than likely hit me)
*gets hit in head with rock*
oww, no more late nights at the tavern drinking for me . . . . .
*phases out*
Locke
08-11-2005, 12:27 PM
So, now that Kai's unconcious, who feels like tying him down and tying him up to a cross in the middle of a corn field? :p
*hears locke and mentally broadcasts a message throughout the material world*
i'm not unconscious, i simply lack physical form at the moment
*travels to Guam in search of beings similar to himself*

Here's a few good reasons to be a pirate:
Here's my daddy as a scruffy young cabin boy/cadet thingy.
http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/9335/29xe.th.jpg (http://img242.imageshack.us/my.php?image=29xe.jpg)
Here he is shortly after. He's the one with...the box on his head.
http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/1993/77db.th.jpg (http://img242.imageshack.us/my.php?image=77db.jpg)
A few years, some boot polish, a couple of exams, a lot of stormy waters later...
http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/7788/43bz.th.jpg (http://img242.imageshack.us/my.php?image=43bz.jpg)
On a side note from pirating, nowadays he is content merely reliving his youth and impersonating posters.
http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/4140/55fp.th.jpg (http://img242.imageshack.us/my.php?image=55fp.jpg)
Dressing in tights as Lord Blackadder and racing go-carts...
http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/428/63kc.th.jpg (http://img242.imageshack.us/my.php?image=63kc.jpg)
And occassionally joins the army...this was taken shortly after he accidently drove our car through their firing range (no kidding).
http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/3299/32ix.th.jpg (http://img242.imageshack.us/my.php?image=55fp.jpg)
Here's my father in the latest pirate fashions (note, not all pirates find the makeup necessary).
http://img159.imageshack.us/img159/4764/17gv.th.jpg (http://img159.imageshack.us/my.php?image=17gv.jpg)
Plus you get one of these when you join:
http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/2923/ship7bl.th.jpg (http://img242.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ship7bl.jpg)

Ok so most of that had nothing to do with pirating. I just thought they were cool pictures I recently found. :)

I especially like the bond impersonation one and the bit about driving through a military firing range :biglaugh: :w00t: . I salute the man (meaning that in no way sarcastic, that's awesome) :D

Well we go to quite a few fancy dress parties but I don't think we've ever been to one with a pirate theme. :p
Plus my mum's pictures are all unorganised and in a big old box....effort.

i love the way they look, so pwerfull and elegant....but pirates still suck
Yuffie

Makes me want a pirate boat... Can I get a black one?
Depends. Can you afford one? :p
I have a blue and white one...slightly smaller but it's roomier inside... :emlaugh:
The Mask of Zorro was on tv just now (the 1998 one) and then coming here got me wondering...what the heck is Zorro?
He uses stealth and acrobatics like a ninja...but his sword technique and use of pistols and slashing wenches clothing is most definately a pirate trait.
Blade Tanaka
08-14-2005, 07:52 PM
Well I think I mich just a second. (looks through pockets) Do you except Visa?
Lord Draud
08-15-2005, 10:18 PM
a freind of mine perfectly discribed a pirate "A angery british person with even worse teeth then normal, nothing romanicic about a man that has not have a bath is 2 years and prolly has at least 2 STD's" and i find Zorror's sword style to be more french raiper style then the cutless style, since the cutless made to be a heavy bladed slashing weapon (1d8 19-20 x2) and is not ment to be used with any style what so ever in the movies they make it look like it takes skill to use it does not its a club with a blade
Yuffie
08-16-2005, 05:46 AM
So....if he's not really a pirate or ninja, then what is Zorro classified as?
And must pirates be British?
Although I'll admit, the pirates are always more glamourous, romantic, dashing and pleasant smelling in the movies than real life. :p
Locke
08-16-2005, 02:57 PM
Zorro is the american version of a musketteer, right down to having very similar fighting styles, with the main difference of Zorro fought for freedom and to win the affections of the lovely ladies, and the musketteers fought for, well, freedom and to win the affection of the ladies :wonder:. It does occur to me that zorro is really only a spanish musketteer.
Yuffie
08-16-2005, 03:16 PM
But...wouldn't musketteer kinda imply that they use....a musket?
Not that I'm complaining about dashing young men in masks who can dance like that.
Locke
08-16-2005, 03:31 PM
 Watch the movie "The Musketteer", you'll see what I mean. :P
Lord Draud
08-16-2005, 07:47 PM
lol its true, he is ntohing more then a spanish musketteer but if your gonna watch the movie i sugest the one with keif sutherland and to qoute "what do we do now?, WHAT DO WE DO NOW!? NOW WE GO WENCHING!!"
Locke
08-16-2005, 08:08 PM
True, I laughed my ass off at that scene.
Yuffie
08-17-2005, 05:47 AM
I think the only musketteer film I've seen other than the Mask of Zorro is the one with D'artagnon in it. :p...although it wasn't "the 3 musketeers" I was watching...I only saw him in "The Man in the Iron Mask" :spin:
Was Batman a nija?? Black suit, stealthy style, fighting capabilities, bat stars . . . . . the only thing I'm wondering is if nijas can use cars???
Yuffie
08-17-2005, 10:38 AM
I daresay it's possible for them to use cars...but it does kinda ruin the image. :p
Kinda difficult to quickly hide your car before you slither out of the shadows and take the bad guys by surprise! :amazed:
I could see a nija on some sort of stealthy motor bike (not a Nija). It would allow quick dismount and pending on the location easily hidden.
Locke
08-17-2005, 02:22 PM
I could see a ninja doing that as well. Could be a productive way to get around :p
Lord Draud
08-17-2005, 06:02 PM
modren ninja's can use what ever things they want to compleat tehre goals, ninjas are spys first assassins second so they can be load and act drunk so that people will ignore him whilerealy he is seting up hidden cameras
Yuffie
08-17-2005, 06:09 PM
I still think Ninjas should use hoverboards...
I spelt ninjas wrong when typing this post...which led me to wondering....how cool would nunjas be?! :amazed:
Stealthy nuns, dedicating their lives to fighting evil and protect religion! :D
Lord Draud
08-17-2005, 06:28 PM
and never geting laid....arg the horribleness of the church, we will take your best and brightest and never let them breed making your entire population dumber every year!
Locke
08-17-2005, 07:21 PM
Now now, you gotta give nun's credit, they're a version of buddhist monks who study a book for their life as opposed to self enlightenment. I'll take buddhism over christianity anyday, but still, to completely devote your life to something like that, you get kudo's for that one in my books. :peace: I respect someone who has that kind of dedication.
Yuffie
08-18-2005, 12:52 PM
Even if I was religious I think I'd make a terrible nun.

Locke
08-18-2005, 01:38 PM
Religious people can be some of the nicest but dumbest people around. Great people, but they tend to not be able to think outside the box, which stifles their creativity and ability to learn new things. Rather unfortunate, really.
Blade Tanaka

Locke
08-18-2005, 03:30 PM
You're definently the most un-Aitken of the Aitkens Blade :p No worries, my comment wasn't in any way meant offensive to religious types, I was just expressing a personal observation about religious people as a whole.
It's true there are some downfalls to being somewhat religious (I myself don't suffer these) but I will say I believe that without some sort of beliefs to restrict the free will of the weakminded that society could not support itself. To me religion is like a buffer to seperate the fearful from those who like to control their own lives. Keep in mind this doesn't apply to all religious types just the majority of . . . . . "pawns" (lack of a better word) just floating through life until completion.
(I may have worded that wrong but hopefully my view was made without being overlly offensive)
Yuffie
08-19-2005, 09:10 AM
I believe too much in logic and science to be religious myself, but I don't put down people who are religious.
No one really knows if there is a god or not but everyone gets a vote. :spin:
Locke
08-19-2005, 01:54 PM
Wow, this is a very accurate poll :D Kai ran this question around the living room last night while everybody was sitting around watching fear and loathing in las vegas (or maybe during pink floyd - the wall, I'm not to sure on the timeframe) and it came out 5-1 for ninja's. Mind you, the poor guy who said pirates stood his ground through some heated discussions, but I'd say roughly 2/3 of all people would choose ninja or pirate :D  Go people

08-20-2005, 12:37 PM
5-1 eh? Was that taking into account the mighty Shirt Ninja?
jetblue
08-20-2005, 02:20 PM
Im watching that samurai movie again with that white ninja. Hes cool. And there was another ninja standing by the entrance of this gate throwing ninja stars at approaching guards. I want some throwing stars. Real ones not those dull thin metal ones they sell in china town.
Locke
08-20-2005, 05:36 PM
5-1 eh? Was that taking into account the mighty Shirt Ninja?
Unfortunently, there was no shirt ninja action going on at all in that discussion. On the flip side of things, I talked a buddy of mine into becoming a shirt ninja for the first time the other day too. Mostly just because he was constantly running around yelling ninja * (*=whatever random ninja type attack he was doing at the time). Made for an interesting evening.
Astrolounge
08-21-2005, 11:19 AM
I'm going as the shirt ninja for halloween,
got the sword and everything.
Pirates because Luffy (One Piece) kicked Nauto and Sasukes ass in Jump Super Stars for the DS. Besides Pirates are cooler because they have more freedom, Ninjas are bound to thier clan whereas pirates are free to go about the sea however they want.

Hey now, you gotta stand your ground in a debate. Either that or twist things in such a way that in switching side's your winning a victory. One way or the other, you still shouldn't be wishy-washy. :p
I have to keep switching sides because it's uncertain when this thread will die and the winner will be announced! There could be a dramatic change in events!!

08-22-2005, 08:18 AM
Unless spontaniously there is 20 new members who join and all vote on Pirate, then I think it's pretty clear who's gonna win this one :p. Plus, you gotta stick to your guns. And if your side loses, you gotta make sure you lose with class :D

Now I'm sorry to do this Kai but would you mind handing over your vessel so I can steal the treasure and possibly kill you..? ....Please?
Astrolounge
08-22-2005, 10:57 AM
Are you sure you wouldn't be more happy roaming the high seas in a dinghy?
I need no vessel and as for treasure I simply take what I need from others to get by. You can't kill an ethereal being.
Astrolounge
08-22-2005, 11:25 AM
Actually... You can.
Locke
08-22-2005, 12:54 PM
Yeah, that's true. You really really can
*Remembers that vorpal blade of ethereal creature killing that was hidden in a compartment of backpack*

08-22-2005, 01:59 PM
Fanktastic eh, well it's a good thing I have a fanktastic sword of Kai slaying ;) :D
. . . . what?
When you say pirates we assume boat water etc. . . However what about other pirates?
Astrolounge
08-22-2005, 03:11 PM
Like ski pirates or something?
Locke
08-22-2005, 03:27 PM
What about those dreaded pie-stealing pirates. You need to be a ninja to defeat them :amazed:
All valid examples . . . . .:pirate:
Astrolounge
08-22-2005, 05:14 PM
The ski pirates could be successful, if only it wern't for those damn snow-snakes.

What about FACT! The Federation Against Copyright Theft! :shades:
Because Video Piracy is a crime! :shame:
Locke

Egads :amazed:
Oh no, I feel like such a crimianal, fact is gonna be after me  :p
And of course we can't forget those poop-shoot pirates :pirate: , damn squid-jiggers :realmad: .
So ninjas are suppose to be stealthy . . . . so how come they can't use sleak guns? A nice little handgun with a silencer or something? Or if that is not honourable they could use a tranq gun and then run up and slit their throat while they sleep. I know that sounds dishonourable but if you think about it, it is more work than running up from the shadows and just doing someone in. You'd have to aim and what not . . .
Locke
08-23-2005, 01:11 PM
You lose the personal touch when a gun is involved. You just don't get the same effect :p
Astrolounge
08-23-2005, 03:15 PM
Besides, have you ever heard a gunshot through a scilencer?
It's still pretty damn loud.
And a ninja could make a blowgun if he needed it.
Not personal???? I think once you shoot them with a tranq. gun you can get as personal as you want with them . . . . :shame:
Yuffie
08-23-2005, 03:41 PM
I'd have said using a gun would be more efficient than close combat...and quicker.
Locke
08-23-2005, 04:07 PM
Yes, I'm not disputing that it'd be more effective, but the point of it is that it's also dishonourable. You don't know who killed you with a gun, with swords or whatnot you at least stand a chance of living if you're good enough.
Lance Alvein
08-23-2005, 04:14 PM
Though many ninjas would kill from the shadows, before their targets even knew they were there :p
Locke
08-23-2005, 04:24 PM
True, but when the ninja attacked everybody knew it was the ninja, and the purpose of it was to instill fear in the public and the belief that the ninja's were invincible.
Pirates did nothing but sail the seas and rape, pillage, and loot everything. Ninja's had respect, pirates had nothing but disrespect :shame:
Personally I think pirates created fear within people far more than nijas. Pirates will mug, rape, and mutilate you while nijas just offer a quick death from the shadows. WHO'S HIDING, I ASK YOU . . . .WHO'S HIDING?
Locke
08-23-2005, 05:00 PM
You Kai. I say you're hiding yourself from the world in a cloak of self mockery.
Yuffie
08-23-2005, 05:20 PM
I think ninjas must be pretty full of themselves to not use guns. They'd rather potentially endanger themselves in close combat instead of just shooting the target and getting the job done. :D
Or they can't see very far through those masks they have and to actually deal a fatal wound they need to get up close so they can see their target . . . . :amazed:
Locke
08-23-2005, 05:28 PM
Pride and Honour Yuffie, pride and honour.
Lions and Tigers and Bears . .. . OH MY!!!
ummm yeah . . . . So at least nijas can jump higher than pirates. I know that could come in handy in a fight. They'd all be like "yo, I'm on my boat and you can't get me" and the nija he'd be like "oh yeah well, HUH" and he'd jump at the boat because that's what nijas do, they jump.
Edit: and on a side note . .. . lady liberty is a nija

Locke
08-24-2005, 08:04 AM
See, look, another reason why Ninja's are better :D
Yuffie
08-24-2005, 10:23 AM
1. Pirates DO NOT say yo! Unless it's in an exciting sea shanty.
2. Lady liberty looks kinda scary...but not as scary as she was in ghostbusters.
Why can't pirates say "YO"? It's a perfectly common greeting pending on your location.
Well combine the two, a giant nija statue with a torch roaming the world, giving a quick stealthy death to whoever stands against her.
Yuffie
08-24-2005, 10:51 AM
Yo just doesn't sound piratey enough!! It needs to be things like "AAARRRR!" and "YE BILGERATS!" :D
Now now let's not let sterotypes define our views on pirates. Newage pirates might not speak old slang. Instead of "AAARRR" it could be "BAAAAAAMN" and instead of "walk the plank matey" it could be "jump the water's non-bones, squid jigger". :biglaugh:
Locke

What about mexican jumping beans. Beans are a vegetable... sorta. And mexican jumping beans are vegetationable.... sorta.
And let's not forget about mighty beans .. . . .

Hey Kai, guess what, you're a trainer :p
Yes I know, I went to the temple to smoke a bowl and realised after I posted it I changed rank so made changes to better describe the transition. Though I don't like the outfit too much, meh knights up next.
What makes someone a nija? Do you need some sort of varification of training or something . . . . .though I suppose your abiltity to kill from the shadows would tip people off. Are modern day assasins nijas (assuming they use a knife etc..)?
Locke
08-26-2005, 10:57 AM
Hmmm, I just figured out another plus to ninja's. Pirates do nothing but drink, ninja's make use of hallucinogens. Which would you rather have at your disposal ;)

On another topic entirely my dad bought a plastic sword while I was away which makes clanging noises when you swing it about.
Unfortunately it also makes clanging noises at random in a still room...with no off switch...
But it's still damn funny. :)

you can take out the battery, or even try and put it in a room with no windows or air current....
Locke
08-30-2005, 03:39 PM
You could, but it's alot more funny to randomly hear a clanging noise. Kai has a talking stuffed version of Gary from spongebob squarepants that's taken so much abuse sometimes it takes it 5 or 6 minutes for it to clue in it's been hit and then make a mewing sound. Tends to be really funny when people who've never heard it before experience that for the first time :biglaugh:

Well I have one with no windows so...
...I could take out the batteries...but it was a kinda cheap sword and I can't find any part that seems to open...it all looks kinda glued shut...
So I put it in the garden shed. :D

Well done Yuffie. Personally I'd rather set it leaning against the wall beside someone's head while their asleep. That way, when they wake up and hear a clanging noise they'd be really really confused

Hehe, I played a similar trick on my boyfriend's little brother...
You see, James is a sound technician and as such has some fairly hefty speakers which we planted under his brother's bed (his room is such a state there's no way he'd see them anyway).
Then we hid a webcam.
Then when he was asleep we messed about talking to him with a mic from James's room. :D
Had he been wide awake he would have been confused (just how he is) but when he was mainly asleep it was better.

evil! and funny, thats something that ninja's would do, make noises like throwing a rock then when the gaurds turn to look the would stealth by, te would not kill he gaurds cause to many body means a greater change of being found

I concur Draud, that's definently a great trick Yuffie. Well done .

But...but...but...that wasn't for the ninja-....well yeah of course the ninjas are winning because of my cool trick!! :D
On a side note, my . key keeps sticking. :(
Locke
09-01-2005, 07:00 PM
Well, sucks to be you Yuffie. Use some of those mad ninja skills to fix you . key :p
Yuffie
09-01-2005, 08:23 PM
I used a damp cloth.
Now I have a sticky and wet key. :(
Locke
09-01-2005, 08:45 PM
Try blowing the dust out from underneath it, that tends to help. And be careful with wetness, that more often then not tends to break a keyboard ;) Just a little fyi, you know :p
Yuffie
09-02-2005, 10:38 AM
My keyboard is pretty resilient, it's got dust, lucozade, tomato soup, some kind of candy and a shattered AOL disc inside it. I'd say it's doing pretty well. :D
The stuff sticking the key looks like pink crumbled bits of candy...but I can't identify them and they don't seem to budge. :p
Lord Draud
09-03-2005, 05:21 AM
remove the key in question unplugg key board then clean with a damp cloth, wait till dry and restart
Locke
09-03-2005, 05:31 PM
Good call Draud, that should do the trick. Assuming that the keyboard has keys that you can remove from it, anyways.
Yuffie
09-04-2005, 04:40 AM
Well I kinda beat you to it and just flicked off the key and attacked it with the wet cloth without the whole switiching off and unplugging process but it seems fine. :D
But the key's still sticky, I think the gunk has moved deeper than I thought. :(
But when I go to uni I'll take my nice shiny new keyboard. :D

Sooo, 27 to 12 eh :p I think we all know that pirates just can't compete with ninja's. Personally I wonder if this will keep going till either pirates or ninja's makes it up to 50 votes for one of them :wonder: Could be interesting, methinks.
