#gamemp3s (http://www.skylagoon.com/gamemp3s/)

This is one of my favourite places to get vgm. I love bittorrent. They also have a irc channels, which are located in irc.xelium.net. Remember to read the rules, just in case :)

And when you torrent, remember to share back :)

Yep, I agree with Kilu. Also remember to check out the section about VGM Central, the Direct Connect Hub. If you can deal with the mods being on a power trip 24/7, it has a huge amount of vgm (and other stuff).

I have decided to give this strange thing called bittorrent a chance. Yes I have never sued it before but i have just dl'd the client so we will see how it goes:) thanks kilu for the link;)

EDIT: I would never sue it! I meant 'Used it'

What client you got? The official one? It blows. I mean, it gets the job done, but if you are really demanding, like me, you'd be better of getting BitTornado or Azureus. Azureus is a great client, probably the greatest right now, if you can get it to work. It's in Java. BitTornado is what I use, stable and easy for beginner to use as well.

The official client has no upload stream limitation : it means that your upload stream can actually block your download stream !!

I highly recommend you Azureus : it has cool features and works veery well :spin:

I use bittornado for all my bittorrent needs, and it works good. The only real problem I have with it is I find sometimes it just won't connect me to enough seeds. I mean, if a torrent is reporting 300 seeds, why cant I get a connect to atleast 10 or so? I always end up with like 2 seeds and 50 peers on big torrents. Bleh

This could be a problem on the trackers end as well. I'm not claiming to be any kind of authority on torrent issues, but I recently downloaded from a torrent with 3000 seeds and 6000 leeches... I could only see couple seeds though. It is possible that too many seeds may choke the tracker. Sort of overloading the tracker, not enough power or whatever to forward all the datarequests and whatnot.

Just a guess though. No actual fact to back this up.

Yeah, I also vote for Bittornado. And yes, I've noticed that issue with the seeds as well. But the download always completes, so eh.

The reason I don't like Azureus is because after I dump all the channel releases from "xx-xx-xxxx" into the main #gamemp3s dir, Azureus no longer allows me to seed unless I reorganize those particular albums into the "xx-xx-xxxx" directory. No thanks.

Azureus eats my IE, I still use it though, 'cause you can still go through and select certain files you don't want, or priortize others.

Tornado can do this as well.

Only thing that Azureus, as far as I know, has it that Tornado doesn't, is queued (I think) and multitorrent gui. Multitorrent support will be added in Tornado sometime later.

*shall haved to give Tornado a try then* and hopefully it won't be hungry and eat all the sites I try to open...

I can't remember if this was discussed or not, but #animeongaku is hoted on the same irc network that #gamemp3s is on, and managed by a few of the same folks. They have a pretty decent selection of anime music (of which I have contributed Cowboy Bebop CD-Box and Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust). Anyway, their web site address changed a couple times, so I wanted to post the current one. Check it out.

Edit: I forgot to mention I mirror almost all of their albums on my RPGN server. However, I do not index them in my server files info.
