In the old movie the part that gave me the jitters was when the lights went out and the watches became magnetized.

for some reason, i suspect my memory to be misleading on that one; i bet it sucked. >.>
It probably did. But man, I have never seen those. I would also like to see any of those Zelda cartoons that there used to be. Maybe also those Super Mario Bros. shows :D
I have couple old Nintendo magazines where Captain N is kicking :D It's brilliant.

...my favorite video game cartoon was the sonic that used to come on saturday mornings here. sadly, only eight people watched it the first time around.
i remember missing a couple of episodes and panicking for a little bit... but then i assured myself that all i'd have to do was wait for the reruns to come around.

Yeah, I remember that old Sonic cartoon. It did better than the SMB, LoZ and MM cartoons did, that's for sure.
I remember that Beetlejuice cartoon! That was awesome! XP
As far as I remember there where two sonic series. The first one was very old but got a pretty nice anime style. Thats the one I loved to watch all the time. The second sonic series got worse drawings and a crappy story.
I'd also like to re-watch Super Mario Brothers and the Legend of Zelda cartoons. Argh.. may it be that there was a Legend of Xanadu cartoon? I remember in something related to Xanadu...
One of my greatest wish's in my youth was that there'd be a Mega Man X Anime and not such a crap series with blurry and noisy drawings http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/embarassedlaugh.gif. A Mega Man X cartoon exactly how the game was/is *sigh*. It wouldnt be sooo extremly hard to make and many people would love it. There are so many MMX Anime arts around.. would be the best way to find a style for such an anime, since many people love those great arts :)
Oh, I forgot about rockman.exe. Well, it isnt old but at least a little amusing.

I'm probably the only one who'll remember this, but I remember that Captain Power show. I just remember buying those ships that you used to shoot at the TV to score points or whatever (using special VCR tapes). The show itself was a bit too mature for kids, from what I've read, so it never made it past one season.
I actually bought the TV shows on CD a few years ago. The guy who made that show was the same guy who created Babylon 5. And I can see how kids may have gotten confused with it. But it had, in my opinion, one of the best season (series) finales of any sci-fi show.
I must be a geek for remembering this...and admitting to having the shows...

Without a doubt let's discuss Outer Limits, I only saw a few but man what programmes. 1 in particular a two-parter starring Robert Patrick (the T-1000 in Terminator 2).
Part 1 (Quality of Mercy) Storyline was about a guy who has been dumped in a prison cell by aliens (because he is part of the uprising during a war between us and them) with a female who is being slowly turned into an alien, he comes to the sorry realisation that he will probably never be free but worse *SPOILER* (highlight space below)
The woman in the cell with him is not really being turned into an alien, she always was one and is now being turned back, She has coaxed information out of poor Robert and now the aliens know where our last stand will be.
Part 2 (The Light Brigade) shows mans last stand against the aliens as they prepare to drop a bomb that can wipe out the aliens entire planet, sadly there are a few twists and the ending is one of the best in TV history in my opinion. WATCH THESE EPISODES.

I remember when i was a small jetblue in the 80's there was a show called Robotech about this singer girl in the future that got invaded by these giants and there were mech's and blood and killing. It was one of my first tastes of anime. And there was another show that I cant remember the name about some battle ship in space with a big lazer in its hull and they were fighting some aliens. I wish they would re-run these shows.

Ah ...so no new eps =( , augh well the thought was nice while it lasted.
With Farscape having ended and Enteprise ending im quite beside myself, though farscape was a brilliant and unique show i also loved Enteprise, it was so cool and the styling was awsome (you know the chunky/bulky starfleet tech), you got an awsome sense of adventure and in which anything was possible ...greatly misintepreted by a majority of the fans for the most part.
oh yeh and peacekeeper chicks rock ;).
So any new sci fi about?
Battlestar gallactica: the series has just gone into weekly syndication over here (australia) though it feels like a cliche, much prefer enteprise or farscape.

Such nicely dressed manequins. So cool the way there hands became weapons.
It brought back lots of memories of childhood. How I use to fight with my brothers to watch it on PBS at 11pm. And when I saved my pennies to buy a cheap 10 inch black and white tv so I could watch it in peace. Brothers could be such bastards especially when there already older.

Just stayed up all night waiting for the download of Dr.Who to finish so I can see it. Its 5:21 in the am chicago time.
It was good. The Aliens costumes were great. I wish they would of elaborated more on some of them. I like the trees. They look like they can be mean and conquering. And what a freaky human. Funny what rose called it a bitchy trampoline.
I remember from old episodes about a war that Galifrey fought against the Dalek alliance or something like that, cant really remember. Need info. And the timelords did something wrong and they were hunted throughout the 12 galaxys. Damn I wish I can remember. I wonder if its part of that.
But still a good episode in the classic form. Needed more spacey ballroom musichttp://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/wink.gif. Rose of course was so beutifulhttp://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/love.gif. That song toxic coming from the jukebox, was that her singing?

There's a residue of an april fools joke about the BBC working a deal with Paramount Studio's to make the new Star Trek in the UK.
If its true that would be great. It would be great if they made it kinda like Blakes 7. The BBC has good writers and a great FX department. What would be even better is if they join up with that german company like they did with Lexx. I guess Im dreaming of a fantasy land,Dr.Who meets Star Trek.

Love the old series. I will one day have all the episodes on DVD. Tom Baker and John Pertwee were my favorite doctors.
The new doctor still reminds me a bit of the Master(the black clothing)
I am so hopeing they bring back some of the old aliens. Like the Sontarans,Movellans,I think the cybermen were extinct since the Mcoy episodes.
The first new episode with Rose and the manequiens and the nesters is from a old one with the Master and Pertwee with the Autons that also had weapons come out of there hands with the assistance of the nesters. Took me a while to remember.http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/wink.gif Because those hand weapons seemed very familiar.

Lord Draud Im having trouble separating individual pages so I can post them so you could see the ones I downloaded, so I googled some. And while googleing I found these RC daleks. I must have one!!!
Im searching the web for a seller. But this is what they look like. Ill explain in breif about them:
http://www.starstore.com/acatalog/radio-command-daleks-L.gif
They were created by a scientist named Davros.
I could'nt find a good picture but you can google and see how the cool evil scientist looks like.
He was from the planet Skyro were a world war had been going on for ages.
They were made to turn the stalemate around.
There mostly machine but have some bio matter to give them an edge. 5 and a half feet tall. There heavly armored and have anti grav skids to move around. They have a ocular unit,magnetic/grav cup hand and weapon. There weapon is a energy beam that can be adjusted to cut thru steel or its main use,Gamma magnetic photon beam. Deadly to all organic life.
They turned on there creators. And began to spread throughout the 12 galaxy's enslaving and destroying all that opposed them under the war cry of "Obey or be exteminated!"
In the Dr.Who universe, they are destined to be the dominant lifeform in the universe. And in the BBC radio episodes of Dr.who (yes I listen to them to when I can get them)they are held back by a psychic able to destroy there minds.

I had a talk with my friend today and somehow we end up speaking about animated series. I remembered that I used to watch a serie called Bikermice from Mars. It was quite popular those days. I would like to see it again and check if it really was so good. Among my friends it is usually considered as a joke these days but so are many other series.http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/biglaugh.gif

also has anyone seen a programme called 'The Trap Door' i think it may have only been broadcasted in the UK im not sure, its about these plastercine models which live in a castle somewhere, and it has a secret trapdoor which has like monsters inside.

I have been watching two episodes of Bernie Mac Show now. Both them were great and the next episode is today. I can't wait to see what will they do next.
The first time I watched this show the dad in this show was teaching his son how to defend himself against bullies. The boy learned those tricks too well and begun to bully other kids.http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Can't remember the boys name who played the son but his good.

just treated myself to all the episodes I missed of Dr.Who. The only one I could'nt get a good copy of was world war 3. Mabey theyll make one later.
In Aliens of london I thought they were gonna bring out Brig.Leftbrich Stewart of U.N.I.T. or something.
That dalek was great. That was cute the way it looked at its busted lazer. Excellent display of the daleks superiority. It had the sheilds and antigrav skids from the last episode. And I guess the war was a success and they eradicated the daleks. The series made it seem it was a faliure because the daleks acheived time travel capabilities.
Dont really have much to say for the long game. They should of kept adam around.
And fathers day was alright. I know a few freinds and family I liked to save if I had a tardis. Screw the timeline. What has it ever done for me?
Cant wait for the next episode.
Whats this Dr.who confidential they speak of in the ending credits?

Doctor Who Confidential is a behind the scenes episode, very good to watch. They have started releasing the dvds in the UK also. You may get some info on Confidential from the BBC site.

And what did the doctor mean when he said welfare state when all the people were normal?
You know what else would be great If they redid? Blakes 7. That ship is burned in my mind.

You know what else would be great If they redid? Blakes 7. That ship is burned in my mind. In the future, the doctor made it sound like they have no qualms about sexuality. This was backed by Jacks playfull slap on the bum of the soldier after he said he also had a nice bum!
Blake 7.............you'll like this....................
They are making a cartoon which supposedly covers the original series and they are doing a live series which continues after the original series!!!!! It was a good few months ago that I read this in SFX. Should be some sites around with updated information :).
Oh, the ship was called Liberator. I loved Doctor Who, Space 1999, Blake 7, Buck Rogers and Battlestar Galactica when I was a kid.

But OMFG I was shocked Tanisthalon at the preview and wish i could get in a time machine and be at next saturday. I knew they couldnt be held back. I bet this time they have Davros. I hope its the same hindu actor as last time because he was brilliant as Davros and other char's of the series.
Lord Draud we have to sit at a cafe, bar or strip club(my treat) and discuss the doctor. Its basically pure science fiction. Not a space captain going at incredible speeds through the galaxy or a galactic empire or transdimensional sliding. Just a timelord/Galifreyian who like's us humans. Its just like japan has giant moths and godzilla, the UK has the doctor and aliens. For some reason the doctor stays with humans because he sees our impact on the universe in the future. But the series just doesnt revolve around earth it goes out there in millions of habited worlds. Its unpredictable just like the universe really is. Like I said we need to sit.http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Big brother is good because it takes the weirdest people from the UK and puts them together which keeps them away from the rest of us.
Bad news is it lets them out again.
They're running out of ways to find really weird people now I think, they deliberately chose people who would have especially close relationships with each other this year. O_o
But by far the worst thing at the moment is "Celebrity Love Island", I haven't even watched it but it basically takes a load of Z-list celebrities (actually people who just know celebs) and sticks them on a desert island together to get jiggy with it. :-\
What's the point?
Lord Draud

By that go you mean:
Smeg-head
Git
??
Yuffie
06-11-2005, 08:49 AM
Well smeg-head is just a funny insult they use, often meaning to be smug or full of themself.
The word git comes from when cannonballs were made using moulds, the git was the part left attached to the ball from the tube where the metal had been poured in (basically a little sticky out straight bit from the cannonball).
It was broken off because it was useless. It was called a git and therefore the term "useless git" came about. :D

All my mates on the uk hub I use to go to,it shut down permanently 2 weeks ago, said Billie is leaving the series along with eccleston. Are they both still leaving? Did the contract dispute get resolved?
And is the rumor true that American tv stations turned down airing the series? That even the Sci-Fi channel declined?
You all got my intrest in this red dwarf you speak of. I shall seek torrents.

Eccleston leaves after this series and Billie leaves midway second series :(. The guy who plays Captain Jack, well I think he continues to be a hanger-onner in the second series. The way its written its like Eccleston told them he wanted to leave well before they finished filming. In the clip for next week he says he may not get out alive - could be the cue for regeneration but I bet thats covered more in the christmas special.

I'm kinda glad that those 2 characters are changing, the doctor seemed to run out of facial expressions to use very quickly and I got annoyed at how Billie refuses to pronounce her "th"s.
The doctor replacement was the guy who was in Casanova recently (can't remember his real name), I think he'll manage it pretty well. :)
I never saw the original Dr Who, was it very different? :wonder:
