View Full Version : How's Life?

after over an hour of debating the ethicality of posting this topic without actually telling everyone how my life is...... (not really tho.)
i will say this, however: i like trees! ^.^
It would have obviously been so much cooler if the old starters would have started their threads this time around as well. But then again, some of the old posters don't post anymore, so I guess it's okay to start these anyway :)
I got my new computer setup on Friday :w00t: And assembled it quite fast, faster than I expected from me :) Hooray for my new not so crappy computer :)

Life is relativily well balanced soup of good and bad.

How's Life? Well, since you asked...
Life is going okay I guess, Lintbox has been a bit slow to start, lacking clients and all that fun stuff, but otherwise it's all good.
My old soundcard in my PC blew up, so I just got a new SB Audigy 2 ZS donated :D That's why we've been having all the live broadcasts lately.
My girlfriend of 5 years recently decided we were over. I have yet to know why we seperated, and I still love her dearly, but I hope things can be fixed with that at some point.
My apartment building just got new owners, and they have announced major renovations to our buildings. New windows, doors, a new courtyard with a garden and stuff, new walkways, lots of things to make the buildings more attractive looking. Construction has already begun, wakes me up every morning :/ Atleast they are improving this place :D
Well, thats all for now, hopefully these new forums won't give us too much trouble, so far it's smooth sailing.

How's life, eh?
Oh, on a side note, I like how the posts show which one they are. No more wondering who got what post!
Life is . . . . peachy, I guess. I've still got a lot on my mind, but I'm excited as well that there's only one month left before I leave on my mission. i'm getting prepared, mentally and spiritually. I'm also getting ready to quit my job; that'll be a relief. it's not a career for me, Tech Support. No sociality, many angry people. Oh well.

:talk: Life's fine, as always. I'll elaborate in my Hey, Zedie! Thread, when Bama creates it. If Bama creates it. If we even decide to do the Named Thread thing - or even follow our old set of self-imposed guidelines. O_O (http://205.209.144.11/forums/misc.php?do=getsmilies&wysiwyg=1&forumid=0#)

Blew up, as in smoke'n flames, shrapnel and wounds?
No, blew up meaning the card wasn't functional anymore. It was an SB Live 5.1, but the SB software said "No soundblaster is installed in your PC". The audio it outputted was distorted and way too loud, and the drivers had been installed many times. The card was pretty old, and we wanted to get a new one for the live radio shows (for voiceover support) so it's all good. :music:

Well, if that's the criteria for something exploding, then my Radeon 9200 SE exploded when I put Win XP on the computer. It works for the BIOS, but doesn't for Windows itself. I've reinstalled drivers and everything. Oh well.
Zedie - Make your own Named Thread (easier that way).
Locke Cole
08-02-2004, 10:31 AM
Kyari - Making your own named thread was not how we use to do things. The point of having a named thread was that someone else made it for you, in your honour or whatnot. Making a thread for yourself just makes you look silly. :p I'd make Zedie's thread, but I think I'll leave that to the original creator. However, I did make one person's personal thread, I think it's time to revive it. :D

I was watching that spanish soap opera(novela) about Gypsys that I mentioned in the old forums and they finally did the wedding. They took forever to get to it.
Last week was good because one of the gypsy daughters went to the sea shore on a full moon night to get rid of a curse. She had to be alone and strip naked in the water and pray to the gypsy moon god to cleanse her.In order for it to work no one must gaze upon her while she does the ritual.Of course a fisherman walked by and a fishing boat.
I like the word they use for us non gypsys.Gasho or gajo.
When it was almost 1 minute until the show started another soap opera was ending and I was on the floor with laughter. There was these 3 women on some train tracks and a train was moving towards them at a very slow speed and there was this nun shooting at them then the police arivied and stood there shouting for the women to get off the tracks because a very slow train was coming.Thats where it ended and it said tune in tommarow.
If you want to see the show its called GITANAS and its on telemundo network .It starts at 8pm central and If you put captions 1 the captions will be in english.
Life is good with shows like this. There not many shows with such beutiful women in it.Not like those anorexic high maintanece goofballs on fox.
These women have knives in such sweet places.

I'm working a shitty construction job for 10$ an hour. It's difficult, and I endure long hours in the hot Texas sun. I can't wait for school, where 15 hours a week is considered full time.

Wow, Nahk. Usually a labor job like that gets more than $10/hr. I admire you being able to do that kind of work in the sun. More people need to learn the value of hard labor, don't you think? :)
I've worked in a damn hot warehouse before, and as a delivery guy driving trucks around town. It's hot as hell in Alabama, too. I'm pretty sure I made $10/hr then, too. But now I work tech support and do network admin stuff and only make $7/hr. Bleh.

Wow, Nahk. Usually a labor job like that gets more than $10/hr. I admire you being able to do that kind of work in the sun. More people need to learn the value of hard labor, don't you think? :) Man, that is dead on. A few weeks ago I would've never done this and I probably won't ever again, if I can avoid it. I've screwed off in my share of classes, but lately, working in the hot sun seems so much more difficult than doing class work, no matter how difficult the class is, or how much stupid bullshit has to be waded through. By the way, I will never ever EVER haul 600 square bales with only 2 friends at 3 o clock in the afternoon in the middle of august, again!

How's life ? Well, a bit busy as you can guess. I amost had a heart attack when I saw the new forums (thanks to Kilu who informed me ;) ) ! As a matter of fact, Silver - don't take it bad - you should've waited more for people to start new threads. I won't curse your name and wish you a horrible and painful death because of it, but you shouldn't have done that, period. Hey I still hope you will err... like, be bitten by a rabid squirrel ! XD :p
Back to my life (it's so interesting ^^) ! Nowadays I use to go to my friend's and watch movies and talk with him ; I liked Hellboy a lot and I think The Butterfly Effect is a must-see (reminds me of Donnie Darko albeit less spacey) (hey Zedie, it looks like I'm starting to use your words... "albeit" :rofl: ) ! The Last Samurai was good too (maybe a bit long ?) ; the ending was sad, in fact I watched it on the last night with my girlfriend, before she left to her place (800 Km South) after one week together... By the end she was asleep by my side, and I think the emotional quality of both the movie and the situation overwhelmed me... I almost cried. ( ._.);
Enough for now ! :3

but... it's not at once... so that would make it completely alright. =)
because... (one person == true AND at once == false) == false.
meh, why do i bother to continue these ramblings...
well i jumped 35 feet out of a tree last night . . . . . i'm ok, it was into water. today my back started hurting and i think it was related to last night and it was bad enough i went home from work but that was no loss really. i have a new acoustic guitar to add to my list of instruments . . . . well until it's owner finds away to transport it across the country.
 i was happy to see my thread made it to the new forums too even if it made it here before i did :wall:

I've hurt my back somehow, can't figure out how though. O.o
I mean there's so many random prancing and jumping things I do I can't pinpoint it! :D
It's only on one side though so it's probably from when I decided to vault over the sofa and landed somewhat badly...
went to the doctors today and they said my back went into a spasm when i hit the water and stayed tense. they gave me muscle relaxers so hopefully these will work. :wonder:

I don't know how strict Locke will be regarding that, but don't overdo it Kai :) Some people (dialuppers) may not appreciate huge amount of pics.
As far as using them.... there are so many and I'm too lazy to open the popupbox to use them all :) After I remember some of the codes, I will probably use them a bit more. Right now I mostly use :) and :D and maybe :flagfi:
in that case (below) i was simply trying to make a point of the alarming amount of smileys available not break any rules. now that i have had my banana fix i will not use many emoticons (don't get me wrong i plan on using at least one a post) all the time . . . . . . . . . . i think

I've recently noticed a certain bulging..um...bulge in my stomach region in need of shifting before bikini time so I'm starting my good old summer toning and slimming part....it's tough......but it has to be done.
So I'm currently eating food which tastes like cardboard, drinking drinks with no taste and doing a variety of very ouchy workouts. Here's hoping it works. ;)

We got a phonecall saying the tickets couldn't be exchanged because my bf was going instead of my sister's (her main one who found out about the others and dumped her).
But we fixed it by yelling at the Virgin atlantic head office and they changed it. :D

W00t... I'm finally unemployed. :)
My collaboration with Nevrax, working on The Saga of Ryzom (http://www.ryzom.com), has come to an end on September 30. I feel kinda sad ! :wonder: It's been almost 2 years since I started working on Ryzom, and 1 year 1/2 since I joined Nevrax. They would've kept me if I had said yes, and I would've liked to say yes... But I think now is the time for me to get back to what I'm best at, and what I really want to do : graphics. :p So I prefered to stop now - which doesn't keep me from going back to them if one day they look for a graphist ! ^^ But for now the GFX team is full, they don't need more people. Maybe later...
The game is doing good, although some distribution problems make things more difficult ; we have a lot of players already, all very enthusiastic (and that's a relief ;) ) and wanting their friends to join... So the buzz is there... But too many people have problems just FINDING the box. Crappy distributors ! (è_é) Anyway, I'm happy to see our players really enjoy the game, be they curious newbies or veterans looking for a fresh experience. I'm no more a dev now, only a player, but I hope the community will remain as fine as it is now ; no or few whiners / rants, mostly positive and helpful feedback, enthusiasm and assistance between high-level and low-level players... Now all we need is the game to keep improving, good patches coming as intended, and all will be fine ! ^^ There's too much in this game to just lose it because too many people only care for EQ2 or WoW (although we have already "converted" some of them to SoR :D ).
Now that I'm unemployed, I'll enjoy my free-time and improve my book and website ; time to get back to 3DSMax, too ! :p Next week I'll go and see Steamboy with my friend. Katsuhiro Otomo's new film, that's to be seen ! :D Then I'll go spend some days in the South with Gigi, then back to Paris.
Life's fine, as always. I wonder how long this can last ? (^_^)

Nope, I didn't but I took this as an example because many students try and get money by doing jobs like this. When you're studying to be physician, you can't do anything until you get your diploma so you have to work on jobs that don't require a high study level, like pizza delivering or item counting.
With computer engineering, it's different. Even though you cannot work as an engineer, you can make money by working as a tech (coding, building websites, etc...) thanks to a broker association that takes care of legal stuff between you and your employer :spin:

Yeah, I've cheated on you guys. rpgamers.net was my first and only forum (I posted sometimes in gamefaqs and rpgamer.com, but not as much as in here), but now I post on a local forum with some friends who share a common passion for role playing games and animes. We formed a new club together named "Tomodachi to Ishoni". We meet each friday evening to watch animes and we play RPGs every now and then. This is a lot of fun !
Aside that, my job still requires a week per month away from home... And I fell in love with one fine girl (my sister friend in fact), and she now knows how I feel. She asked me for time, but didn't say no. Let me hope... Unfortunately, she's an hour away from my place, and we both don't have much time for ourselves. Depends on how deep you're fond of your "obsession", and how well you deal with it VS social skills and whatever comes around.
There's some luck involved too, me thinks. I, for one, have a lot of friends sharing the same passions.

I went to a gig last night, to see Franz Ferdinand. :D It was ****ing awesome. Managed to worm our way from the back, right up to the fourth row. >_< I emerged at the end, tired, sweating like a hog and grinning like a badger. Loved it.

Cool Charon, I think the band was supposed to come to Montreal but apparently the show got cancelled...
Anyway, what's up in Quebec City? Bus strike. Yeah and using yhe bus service to go to school, work and go out, I am now stuck at home or walking long distances. I hate BUS DRIVERS. I hate STRIKES.
They already have a 20$/h salary but they want more. They just drive ****ing buses! It's not like it was hard or something...

Well the strike finally ended...yesterday. Now the buses are back, the thing is, in two months, the maintenance workers might do also a strike which would cause a reduction of services...
But, I am no more stuck in my house or walking 1h30...hehe
(Short and sweet...) I'm all happy that Bush is President. Thank you. =)

Personally I was cheering for Kerry, but alas having Bush as president again has its advantages. For example, since Bush has run the US into such a debt, the Canadian Dollar exchange rate has soared, and is currently enjoying the low-mid 80's. This helps anyone who buys from the US, and thus makes our prices lower.
Alas, theres the whole war thing and such, but it seems the south likes him. He did get the majority of the votes, even if it was close, so the Americans can enjoy having him for another term. I'm glad I just get to watch. :)

Everyone here knew kerry was doomed. The republicans are intrenched and will wipe out the democrats eventually.
As long as big buissness backs the republicans they will always prevail.
I hate to say it but the democrats need to adopt republican tactics.

i think Kerry's problem was that he wanted to secure democrat votes by trying to adhere to leftist opinion... a lot of people voted against him because he flip-flopped. though, he could easily have turned that around as an example of moderatism. but he didn't.

Is it true that in Canadahttp://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/flag-canada.gif there's no prosecution for downloading stuff like here in america? That canadian laws protect them from american laws?
Afew months ago there were a lot of chicagoans being sued mostly kids in poor areas. It was on the news and I felt so mad. Usally our beloved mayor protecs the citizens but I could see in the press conference while that shameful recording industry lawyer called the people being sued theives, that his hands were tied. But the mayor looked pissed. Probably wanted to break the lawyers legs.
Thats what the democrats need. Chicago style politics and tactics.
I'm just wondering, but how did we get from abortion to people downloading stuff in Canada?

ok now about downloading i love it i downloaded every metalica album and over 5 gigs of other crap and i say thank god i live in canada cause if i lived in the us i would be sued so fast

Anyway, as to how my life is going, well I’m glad you asked.
First off my computer got a GRANDIOS virus last month so I had to reboot my computer and, interestingly enough, when it started again, it was running in safe mode, no big deal. Restart… annnnd safe mode… Hmmm, I knew this would take all of my cunning and skill… …In MS-DOS. (If you are wondering I have NO skill with DOS) After poking around a bit in the system I found the error and managed to correct it through what was likely a fluke. (And with my computer learned friend John’s help) So then I restart my computer with joy, and… …nothing happened… Wait no not nothing, a C prompt. Ok, I remember those…
C>WIN
Bad command or file name.
C>Win
Bad command or file name.
C>?WTF? How can “Win” be a bad file name? Answer me dammit!
Bad command or file name.
C>win
Bad command or file name.
WTF!
Restart.
But after awhile I found the source of the problem, “System ‘WINDOWS98’ no longer exists. Have a nice day.” (At this point my well known eye twitch made its appearance.) So my computer was rebooted and recovered once more.
C>win
Come on, come on, please be user friendly this one time…
Starting windows 98
Hurazpoof!
But my hurazpoof was short lived. 16 colours. Huh? 16 Colours? Well at least that’s something I know how to fix. Control panel, Setup, Colours… Choose between; 2 colours or 16 colours… “Uh, John?” so at John’s advice the computer was sent to be repaired. And joy was had by all. And A LOT of money was had by Zoomy Computers.
Sorry to have wasted so mush of you time…

I really like this online shop, they have lots of cool stuff and the service is good. Hey those grey starter sweatpants are exactly what I have on nowhttp://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/smile.gif
A month ago wal-mart and the mayor were argueing on the news because wal-mart wanted to open 4 store's within the city limit's. Wal-mart is owned by republican big buissness men and they would'nt play ball with our democratic mayor. Wal-mart has no union no health care and all the new jobs they will bring to the city would be all minimum wage, part time with no benefits and crazy hours. The mayor wanted them to make it better for the citizens they would be hiring. Wal-mart said no way that the mayor was preventing them from doing what is the american way and stuff like that.
Once you get a republican big buissness in your city they will start to manipulate city hall into bringing other buissness company's and sooner or later they will have there own candidate for mayor with there intrest's at heart. The mayor gave all the available parcels of land big enough for a wal-mart size store to Target superstores. Wich has union for its employes and full-time positions. Plus there owners are democrats.
But what bothers me the most is that when I go to wal-mart in the suburbs the old people at the exit that ask to check your receipt seem to only stop and check African Americans more and let non African Americans go by without checking only telling them have a nice day.
One way to prove Democrats are crazy. =D!

Good and evil is just words, you can't apply a test for them.my point was that friendly fire isn't in and of itself evil. not that i think it's acceptable or anything... but if i were to extend your logic, it would seem like a person who survived a fatal car accident would instantly become hellbound.

Also if someone survived a FATAL car accident, then, being that they are some type of resurecting demon creature, yes, hellbound.
As to the killing thing, look at the american revolution. Most of the weapons recovered were still loaded, and bullets had been found miles away, shot into the air or left in the gun 90% of the time. That's what the point of the army is, to overcome that "do not kill" part of the mind. Those who don't mind killing others are mentaly altered, or have been desensitized in some other way. This HAS been proven.
My point is the army should not take lives needlessly like that.

Also if someone survived a FATAL car accident, then, being that they are some type of resurecting demon creature, yes, hellbound.the implication there was that if a person were to survive a fatal car accident, then someone else would have had to die in it. i'm not sure if you were saying that to point out an inconsistency, or if you were just bein' funny, but i thought i'd mention it just in case.
That's what the point of the army is, to overcome that "do not kill" part of the mind. Those who don't mind killing others are mentaly altered, or have been desensitized in some other way. This HAS been proven.yes, people can be desensitized. i have no doubt of that. however, the "do not kill" part of the mind is a learned behavior. for the sake of argument, i'm just going to classify it into general violence because violence is often the cause of killing people, especially in times of war.
so... supposing people are naturally peaceful, as opposed to peaceful because they were taught that peace is good, wouldn't it be logical that children would be less likely fight? i don't know, maybe i'm wrong... but from personal experience, i have never seen two adults actually hit each other in person.
but... that's besides the point. your original statement was "most people are [psychologically] opposed to killing"... if this were true, why would we EVER have war? why would canadian government officials, and by extension, the people of canada, of whom the majority of eligible voters in fact vote, choose to ally with the united states?
anyway... i contend that most people agree that MURDER is wrong, yet, at the same time, most people also believe that killing is acceptable in certain cases.

My life is happy and wise. Murder is not acceptable in any case. Killing, however, is a different case. Many religions allow it for many reasons.
The army or any government has no right to take innocen civilain lives whatsoever the case.

Yes, I was making a joke.
*takes a deep breath.*
We have war, so that people in power can highten that power, or in Bush's case, to get re-elected. (And America has allies, because they have a huge army and other country's are trying to stay in it's good graces.)
Adults frequently hit each other. But most are taught by society to bottle up their feelings and not to react, People are NOT naturally peaceful, they simply do not truly WANT to kill when they are in their right mind. (ie: Not enraged, or filled with Zelot-isim)
Murder is unacceprable, but killing for food, though many don't approve, or to defend those with whom you form social links with, CAN neccecary for survival.
Religion allows killing because they are steadfast in their belief that they are right, and that some all-mighty force, whom they must obey, has decided that some group of people, innocent or not, deserve death. (I direct you to the crusades as a reference.)
(If you can't tell, I am not particularly religious.)
Thanks Buzz, killing innocents and cililians is, and should always be, immoral.
I am not saying war is always needless, (there are truly cruel people in the world.) My point is that it SHOULDN'T be needed.
PS: Since we are about five clicks south of off topic, let us end this quarrel.
My life is going well, as I have done most of my holiday shopping already.

(to change subject)
I do not have to cook or help cook this year for thanksgiving. I am so happy.
Last year I did almost everything because of last minute changes and it was almost cancelled. This time all the food is already bought and everyone that is cooking has taken the time off from work in advance.
This year wil be more joyful because one of my sister's who was.....kind of banned, will be joining us.
Hopefully all will go well.
Astrolounge
11-17-2004, 11:18 PM
Why was your sister "kind of banned?"
jetblue
11-18-2004, 01:16 AM
My dad banned her years ago because she had joined one of the many cult's that are here in chicago. She was taking the younger family member's to these so called outings even after she was forbbiden to.
She's at a crossroad's now because her job in the cult was to be a nanny for one of the leader's. No pay off course and she did this for many year's untill this summer the leader's of the cult arranged a partner for her with the purpose of marriage. She said no so they kicked her out of the house and told her to go into the world to preach. She came to us in a bad state, she was starving(lost alot of weight)and almost hysterical, so we opened our arms. Mabey she'll leave the cult forever now.
Cults have hit my family hard on both side's. My dad's youngest brother, has also joined one of the cult's in the north-west and has turned my dad's family home into a church. My other uncle's are fighting this.
Cult's have brought my family to the brink of war.
I will not name these cult's as not to offend anyone.
Astrolounge
11-18-2004, 12:48 PM
That is awful.
Don't worry about ridiculing cults, they aren't real religions, (not that I have ever seen much differince) and only rarely have substantial armies. Try not to start a block war though.

All the other tree leave's were brown so the yellow stood out. Circleing the tree in a nice pattern. I buried her there deep and place a rock on top so scavs wont get to her.

Dunno if this is a double post or not but frankly I don't care just now. I'm in battle mode!
Admittedly I don't normally give a damn what my sister does or what goes on but she's going to the police tomorrow because of her ex.
The story is she was going out with him then went out with another guy behind his back. Now she dumped him and is with the other guy (it was an ugly confrontation).
Anyway, recently the dumpee has been hanging around outside her work and threw in a big box today wrapped in xmas paper and yelled "Happy F***ing Christmas!", she opened it and it was full of dirt and had on the side "Rest in Peace" and stuff like slut all over it and under all that was her previous pet.
Since then he's also stolen the battery from her car and cut the wire to start it (he's a mechanic).
So it could have been worse like if he'd cut the break cable, but I can't help thinking which of them is right? She cheated on him but he's done a lot since then so where will it all end?
I doubt the police will do anything, there's no justice in this country. The policeman are just as crooked as the criminals.
So don't mess with me right now. :)

Thats very serious Yuffie. When my sisters were still living with us when I was younger there would be all kinds of angry ex boyfreinds coming over starting stuff and my dad and brothers would get into it and police were called many times.
There's no restraining order that she could get? Because that present will definately qualify her for one. No judge could ignore that.
Police documentation of every incident is a must no matter how small. You could build a case on the amount of incident reports alone.
But Im afraid it may last for years. Just last weekend one of my brothers ex girlfreinds from 2 years ago came over to talk to my mom. She is a nut. We did'nt open the door. We dont know how she found our address because we only been here a year.

Cheating on him was harsh sure... But not enough to merit that kind of shit.
If you want to get even with someone over a thing like that,
go for something a little more psychological.
Anyway, that definetly has police merit if she can actually prove he did any of it, which I don't think should be that hard.

Or we could just go and smash up his car, Vice City style! :D
Or maybe your approach is better.
One of my exes was weird, near the end of our relationship it went a bit weird because he was very possessive. He'd time how long I took to reply on msn to see if I talked to anyone else. O.o
I remember once he cut up his wrists and sent photos to my friends to warn them to stay away from us, being my friends they sent them to me and he was so out of there! :p
But some of my friends had a go at him for a while so he kept saying he'd call the police on me for harassment.
He was nuts. :)
But now he's gone so I don't give a damn! :D
but I can't help thinking which of them is right?
Neither.
Just a week or so ago I heard this story from a friend. Her friend had had a relationship with some guy a year or so ago, something came up, and she said that he would break up with the guy. The guy said that if she'd do that, he'd kill himself. Well, eventually they broke up, and less then week later the guy hanged (unless my memory fails me) himself and left some sort of a suicide note explaining that the break up was too hard, yada yada.
I mean jeez, it's not the end of the world if someone dumps you. Get over it. Shit, I wonder if she feels horrible because of this? Also, it is of course possible that one of the reason why the guy ended himself was to make the other person to feel horrible.
The point of this story was that what's with the people who can't handle break ups? Basing ones life around something as fragile as a teenager/young adults relationship is one of the more stupid things a young person can do. Also, clinging on to it even after the other side of the relationship has given up is just... weak. Getting burned is part of life.
If you can't handle it, don't get involved. Go live in the woods as hermit, safer that way?

http://store.x2tpro.com/images/crystalxbox.gif
pre modded costs $285
with 200 gb HD with a ton of emulators and games + $125
Total $410
Thats the cheapest I could find it. I could kit it and mabey knock off 100.
I had $105 put away for it but gamestop was taking pre-orders on RE4 for $59.99 and get some collectors crap with it. So all I got left is $45.
I have learned much about x-box over the last few weeks. Like It can read dvd-rw and cd-rw wich will save me a lot on discs. Also a secondary dvd drive can be added of any brand to make reading of rw better and if your original laser is faulty. And lots of stuff can be done with the HD. Such as ripping your games, emu, etc.
There's still not a lot of games Im intrested in but I like to tinker and this looks like the ultimate tinker challenge. Plus I would love to play neo-geo cd,3do,amiga,n64 games on it.
I heard soon they might play game cube games on it. But I dont think it will be necessary anymore now that the gamecube viper modchip is here.

Well, it's the cultural differences I bet. In Finland for example it's more common to handout the gifts sometime on 24th, rather than finding them under the christmas tree in the morning of 25th (or something). I have a new computer!
It doesn't suck!
And I can FINALLY play Neverwinter Nights Platnium!
So I am as happy as happy can possibly get.
PS: The new video card came with a free game, "Hitman; Contracts"
Is it worth the effort of installing it?

I'm gonna join the circus!!!! :D
Got all my extra presents from my other family and one of them was an experience day of my choice. :p
They had things like flying activities, water stuff, relaxation days, driving days etc.
I've decided on a course on circus skills for a day. I'll be taught trapeze skills, juggling, acrobatics and acrobalance (whatever that is). :D
Can't wait. :p
EDIT!!!
I forgot something! :D
I went bowling yesterday with my entire family and I won the first game...wait for it...without those barrier things up. Oh yeah.
Which is an achievement for me because I normally never win anything and I got strikes. :D
Came 2nd in the 2nd game though. But both times I beat my dad which is a good thing. :D
Then we had a meal at the bowling alley and they had these excellent sprung loaded party popper things!!! :D
We then discovered we could (with a few adjustments) rig them to fire again with ammo of our choice.
The food wasn't too great so we fired that! Then we hit one of the reception staff with a piece of tomato so we acted innocent.

I should find those...

I have tried alot of diffrent apps but the ones that work good with my pc are Mcafee Virus Scan Home Edition. Removes trojans and other virus. It updates good and it alerts and stops you when your downloading a virus laden file or a virus is trying to enter through a site.
Its not that good for removeing ad/mal ware so I recommend Ad-Aware SE and Ad-Alert SE. It also updates well and stops and alerts when something is trying to change a registery key.
I also have on the side Panda Titanium Antivirus, also good.
For antip2p of course ProtoWall. It also stops you from entering trojan infested spyware sites as well as block the pesky corporate/goverment evil forces from peeking at your files. It is difficult to install. It took me 2 weeks and pestering the PW forums to get it working. Plus you have to install the Block List Manager(BLM) to update your PW block file every week. But its worth it. Its amazing how much it blocks.
PeerGuardian is also good and very easy to install. But seems not to block that much.
And to remove all your taces through illegal sites that are now illegal, the best internet eraser is Evidence Eliminator. It erases all and gives you a clean PC. Also Trace Remover is good but doesnt do a deep erasure. Good for everday use and EE for every month or 2.
Firewalls I cannot use because they clash with everything else causing incredible lag. If I wasnt downloading so much then I would use firewalls.
This is a long post.
What OS are you using, windows XP?
Is your file system NTFS or fat 32?

http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/wave.gif For my PC I use:
Adaware - AdAware SE (free) & Spybot Search and Destroy (Free)
Firewall - ZoneAlarm (Free) & PrevX (Free)
Anti Virus - Avast Anti-Virus (Free), AVG 7 (Free) & Kaspersky Anti-Virus Personal 5 (££££)
Of these my faves are AdAware SE (Great allround but doesnt cover the same things as Spybot), PrevX (Excellent, stops Fishers etc. Although a secondary firewall is needed) and Kaspersky (As I have never had a problem with it). Most programs need a secondary as they generally cover things the first doesnt. There are some good free programs out there, and the vast majority have auto-update as a feature :).
I recommend you try those I use that you can and still try a few others. A lot comes to your own personal feel with them. Although you do get free virus protection programs, they generally dont have as much protection par say as there cash counterparts/equivellents. But that said both Avast and AVG are very commendable and highly rated for that.
*Avast isnt a big fan of other anti-virus programs on the same machine, but worth a look at. I used it until I got Kaspersky, and before Avast I used to use AVG. I put AVG back on a while a go (works fine with other anti-virus programs on the pc) and its improved a bit since 6. Of the two free anti-virus programs its up to you.
I'm using
Ad-Aware SE, Spyware Blaster (deals with active X shit so much better than spybot sd does) and Spybot Search & Destroy for adware and junk like that.
For firewall and antivirus I use EZ Armor. Some computer associates thing. All of these are free for me. No hacks or cracks.
And I have no issues. And then again, I also use Firefox, better security than IE will ever have. It helps a lot.

I don't know much about it.

XP is good. It will come in handy later. Norton is good.
If you want any of the programs I mentioned, let me know and Ill *cough*hook you up.
EE and mcafee are pretty expensive.

ZoneAlarm requires too much CPU and sucks when used with several other softwares (Azureus, GuildFTP...). I recommend Sygate Personal Firewall (free). A friend of mine tested 6 free firewalls on his comp and finally chose this one :D I let you do the test yourself...
As for life, I'm going back to my flat today, leaving my parents' house for a long time. Living my own way of life for five months has changed my behaviour and habits on several things, and going back home for holidays has revealed these changes. Now I feel uneasy at my parents' and I want to return where I live :p
Life's surprising sometimes.... ;)

I am going to have a look at Sygate Personal Firewall, thanks for the recommendation. I dont have a problem with the CPU usage of ZoneAlarm, for thoughs of you who do have such problems, maybe look at using CachemanXP or some similar RAM Recovery Tool :).

I got the parcel with the details of my circus thing today! :D
Unfortunately it says that spectators aren't welcome. :(
I don't understand it, the kit includes a free single use camera but there'll be no one to take any photos. O.o
But I'll have a chat over the phone and see what I can do about it. ;)
In other news I'm back at college today. :(

Is it a circus camp or a real circus?
If it was a real circus I would never come back. I would be a animal trainer.
There's a sad story by one of these cemetarys that has tombstones in the shape of elephants. There was a circus train that was passing 80 years ago and it derailed and caught fire. The elephants were said to have gone into the burning wreakage to save there trainers and others. They got so badly burned that they died and were buried in the cemetary. Theres some stories on the web about them, they say diffrent accounts that they are the graves of republicans. But all the older chicagoians know this train story. I counted 20 elephant gravestones.

How's life for Astrolounge? Lets peek in on him working at his desk.
*Shows a camer-like angle moving up a flight of stairs into a room where Astrolounge is seen in neer tears and with his head in one arm and his other hand pounding the table*
*Notices people looking at him, and immidiatly looks happy*
It's great everyone...

Life's cool because I always like my life which I figure is the best way to look at it in order to enjoy my life! :D
Had the photocall from the local newspaper for the pantomime last Wednesday (I know I'm a little late) which was very fun. If the photos aren't hideous I'll post them. If they are you'll just have to come to the UK and watch the show instead. :)
Got the technical rehearsal tomorrow which should be interesting considering neither the lighting guy or the sound guy can make it. :p
Oh yeah and my own personal achievement from my crappy job! :D
I did 30 surveys in 5 hours today and my supervisor said well done which means she's acknowledged my existence. :)

Best time of the year. Of course its not that cold out at the moment, only -15 or so.
