Searching for: Demon Shaft (Dark Cloud)

I've searched everywhere i could think of for this song....this is the only song i'm missing from the Dark Cloud Ost and of course it's one of my favorites. Anyone who can find or come up with some information on this song would greatly be appreciated...thanks for your time.

edit: Forgot to mention that the composer is Tomohito Nishiura (hope that helps).

As far as I know there is no track number. http://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/bawl.gif I'm not sure if any of you have played Dark Cloud but the "Demon Shaft" is a hidden area in the game that has 100 floors of uber monsters. I was told that the japanese version of the game has no such area in the game, which is why i think it's not listed on that soundtrack. I refuse to believe that this song isn't floating around somewhere on the net. Maybe someone has ripped it from the actual game itself? Oh, well I can't help you out then. I have very little to none knowledge on in-game rips and the like. I have no doubt that someone probably has recorded it, but I have no idea where to find it.

No worries Kilu, I appreciate the effort. :D If I can manage to find someone who has ripped it and made it into a psf file I'll convert it to an mp3. Some songs are just so darn hard to find. :amazed:

Yeah, no psf yet out either. I'm guessing that Dark Cloud is rippable to psf2 though, as the sequel was. It probably can't be ripped with psf2starterkit either.

Though midis were never my favorite; so I hooked up my TV and PS2 close to the computer, turned the volume up high and recorded around 5:00 of it. There is indeed a bunch of noise left on the track and my sound editing software couldn't remove the noise without removing some of the actual song, so I couldn't take that out.

I have that song, if anyone's wanting. I got it quite some time ago from another vgm site, the now-defunct Cubed World. It's in mp3, just medium VBR but still -- it's a direct game rip and good quality. I had seeded it on the RPGN tracker when it was still up, though of course it's on hiatus at the mo. I don't think the original requester is still around (judging by their last profile date, anyway) but if anybody else is hunting for the "Demon Shaft" track, just PM me.

I'm in the same boat as you Ozma, been looking for that song ever since I reached the demon shaft in the game about 4 years ago. Actually, I kept checking this topic from a result in google search every once in awhile just to see if anyone responded, but only until recently new posts appeared so I decided to register. I even DL'd the midi, I'm trying to get what I can at this point. :biglaugh: I attempted to rip the song myself at one time, but there's so much I need to know to do it I gave up. I just don't have that kind of time or patience to make a project out of getting a song. O_O Hopefully now I won't have to drive myself crazy looking anymore; all those years searching. :knockedout:

Well...after doing some searching for the heck of it, I actually found it. That's insane. Now it appears all of a sudden. :wall: The quality of the song is excellent, sounds as if it were a direct rip; it's not like a recording off a TV ( not to knock you down Persium, I tried that method too because of the limited options). Looks like the nightmare is over. :dance: I'll send you a PM Ozma.

Now that I thought about it, it would be more beneficial to list the location here instead of solely PMing other members. I looked at the rules and the closest I could see to a violation states: "don't provide links to game roms, ISOs, cracks or serials on the public forum." I don't think this qualifies, for it's a link to where a song to a game can be downloaded. Since this forum is one of the first results in the google search engine when looking for this song, i thought posting this link would help others who were looking for it much quicker and easier:

As a side note, no wonder no one could find it since it was so covertly buried under some "LianKazairl & Top Dollar Gamerip" name. Chances are that it has been in Galbadia Hotel as well for a good while.
