For those who don't know, this is the story of Edward & Alphonse Elric, two alchemist brothers who seek the philosopher's stone (well, at the beginning, but I don't want to spoil anyone on the first post of this thread :p ).

In my opinion, the plot and characters are fascinating. I like the way the atmosphere changes, between neutral mood, horror, action and fascination.

Does anyone here know this series ?

I know and love the series.
I can't watch them now because I don't have a internet connection of my own!
I wanna download them and watch but like I said... I am hoping to get the net back soon and I'll download the 14+ episodes I have missed so far.
Is all that alchemy stuff going crazy past episode 30? Don't tell me what's happening.. I just wanna know if it's getting crazy with the alchemy powers.

Define getting crazy? The series itself is crazy. Good! but crazy.

DarkSoul> You're on Episode 30 ? The last one I saw was episode 42.
Well, things have changed, but the interesting part is what's going on after episode 37. Alchemy powers do not go crazy but hidden parts of the plot, hidden past of several characters are revealed step by step... I won't tell you anything too precise, but WOW !

Has anyone seen the newest ending? Break dancing Envy is quite funny.

Thanks for the info, I was hoping that it wouldn't get stupit. It's good to learn about the other characters some more. I would like to know more about Scar because he got his brothers arm on there some how.

IMO, Scar is one of the most interesting characters. He's on screen very early but as a complete stranger... his intentions seem to be hostile and chaotic, his will as strong as the past of Ishbal is dreadful...
You'll know much more about him and his true intentions, don't worry ;)

BTW, I'm eager to get my hands on the 2nd OST when it's released... there seem to be great new themes in the last episodes !

:) Would you consider the first OST to be worth snagging, out of curiosity? :spin:

Zedie> From my point of view, having discovered the music while watching the series, each track has a strong emotional value.

Now that I listen to it with a reviewers' ear, I think that its quality is good enough to be appreciated by someone who doesn't know about the series, especially if this someone likes RPG-style music :D
What's more, if you know the game OST, I can tell you that the anime OST is way better, and more heterogeneous.

Kaze Nigai

The Game OST is awfull in comparison to the Soundtrack for the Anime.

Zeugma> I have the single for the new Kung-Fu Generation opening if you want it.

-Edit-

Zedie> Indeed.

It seems they have a movie project for next year : http://www.shochiku.co.jp/hagaren/top.html

I hope it won't be one of those good-animation-and-lame-story movies *sighs*

¬_¬; I'm kinda dissapointed that it's not slated for untill next year. The series is really close to it's end already, then they want to wait an entire year for the movie?! I'll already forgotten why the hell the whole thing began in the first place!

Umm... Here's what I know about Full Metal Alchamist. The Manga is amazing. The game by square wasn't very good (OR so I've heard) And I've never seen the show, plus they're making another game hopefully really cool.

what will the movie be about? i hope they dont want to try to fit 51 ep. in one movie.

Zeugma 440
06-30-2005, 02:47 PM
Nope, the movie will be some kind of sequel :) The 51 episodes have already been summed up in the special episode that has been released one month ago...
