View Full Version : Stories
Okies... from our Tag posting we've found out a BUNCH of Arthors here.... some (alot?) need help (like me -.-). What do yall think about posting our stories in RP fashion?
My problem with that is i NEED a ruleset and charaters that are compatable with the story.. also i have a limit to the chars (8 if done right, otherwise 4, excluding 'boss' badguys)
What do yall think?
Should we have stories with "limits" to how you can play?
A Pentacle for your thoughts!

I would pay lots of money to read a story from youhttp://www.rpgamers.info/images/smilies/smile.gif
Make them without limits go completly creative.
I don't know about that "RP fashion" thing really. I just like to read some stories.
JetBlue... i WOULD like ot go with out limits.... but im not sure how to... my story kinda revolves on a semi-sort true life story... that's errr. yet to happen -.-
LONG story there... err.... hmm... maybe ifen i could get some ppls to help me 'rewrite' the story for non-limits but still be able to write my story out of it...??
Who has IMs?? i've got AIM and MSN
AIM: KsaaZair
MSN: dacakak@hotmail.com
because i WOULD like very much to post my Story here! and MAYBE even be able to WRITE the dang thing now -.-

Quite some of us have aim, msn, icq or something. In the old forums we had a thread for that, but as these new forums have the option to add all these in our profiles, I'm not sure it's necessary to re-create that thread :)

I think that unless you are very capable of fully fleshing out the characters and making them matter to the reader, it would be wise to limit the number of main characters. That way you can have much deeper character development even if you're not that expert in writing stories.
However, if you're masterful you can do wonders with no limits. See the Wheel of Time (Robert Jordan) series and the Midkemia (Raymond E. Feist) series.
One tip I can offer that works every time: Keep on rewriting the story until you're sure it's alright. You never know what you'll overlook on the first authoring, so go back and rewrite. Every author does it :)
