Is anyone here a watcher like me? What do you think about it's move to Wednesday nights? Preceded by Lost, it makes my TV viewing a much more compact, complete night now.

And both done by the same guy (JJ Abrams), so you know this season is gonna rock. At least I hope so. I read some prelim reports that they might try to move away from the Rambaldi stuff, which I would not like. The multitude of twists and turns is what really does it for me on that show.

but that's just my .02$

Well I finished watching the third season just couple days ago, and I must say that the plot just gets more and more farfetched. I would prefer if they would move away from this Rambaldi junk already. Probably won't happen though. I like the series, but couldn't care less when it is aired, because I don't live in the US :)

actually, from what i've heard, your wish might be more likely than mine to be granted. i sorta like the rambaldi stuff since it sort of set it apart from every other type of spy stuff that's out there.

Is the 4th season airing now over in the States??? Definately enjoyed the first 2 series, the 3rd shifted a bit - but got better in the end. Although the cliffhanger was naff.

it will start first week of january. originally, it was on sundays, but with the success of "desperate housewives" (which i have never seen), it has moved to wednesdays, and will be after "lost" (which as i stated before, are both created an written by the same guy)

it works for me since all my tv viewing is on one day now.

So far I have enjoyed the first season the most, then the second, and the worst so far has been the third. Not to say that it was bad, just not nearly as good as the earlier ones.

in case no one saw it above....

SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

do you think it's a bad thing that sloane might be my favorite character? there's such a depth to him, it's crazy. his passion for rambaldi, his wacked out "sydney's my daughter" complex, and his past with jack; i think it's all good.

i certainly agree. i though if was fresh, with not too much twisting and turning at the outset. i'm guessing in the new time slot, they are trying to lure new viewers in with simple stuff at the beginning, and then work towards the amout of intrigue that i think makes the show great.

i think this season has been goign well. nice, concise plots and storylines.

still sorta miss some rambaldi. they can't just completely drop it out, can they?

anyone else have an opinion?

Haven't seen any 4th season eps yet. Too lazy to hunt them down on dc++ or anything like that. Oh well.

well, being as you said you wished they would move away from the rambaldi stuff, i think you'll enjoy this season more than previos ones. there's one episode involving suburbia that i thought was really well-done and interesting.

Thread back from the dead.

Following might contain :spoiler: or two.

Well I finished watching the 4th season just moments ago, and the season as a whole was okay. I was disappointed not to see more Sark, because he and Will Tippin have been my favourite characters on the series so far. The one problem with the series is that they run in circles, sort of. The plot twists are getting too predictable, maybe they should change the writers. Like, when it was finally revealed that Sophia Vargas is Elena Derevko, I saw that come from million miles away. Basically, eventhough I suppose that the twists are unusual when compared to other tv series, they are too similar to the plot twists earlier in Alias.

Which brings me to the cliffhanger. Oh please, that was so lame. Nothing else to say about that.

As for the rest of the cast, I'm glad that Weiss and Marshall are still in, comical reliefs are always good, especially because the series is starting to take itself too seriously. I would almost compare it to Buffy the Vampire Slayer in that aspect. In the earlier seasons the series was more funny, but later the humor sort of dried out. There was humour, but it seemed much more forced than earlier. I see the same happening to Alias, but we'll see.

As for Nadia, I like her, but she seems awfully naive considering what is revealed of her past. I would think that all that would teach a person to be less gullible atleast.

And that's it.

Yes, I agree, more Sark would be crucial. See below for some thoughts on that. I think Tippin is gone, though.

I think the writing problem is that JJ Abrams, the creator, was the main writer in the beginning. Now that he has blown up, he doing many other things [Lost, and I think he's the writer for the new Superman movie]. This leads to other writers, from which I think the show suffers.

I think the premise of the show was [and is] good, but I am slightly confused on where they can go now?

Was the Prophecy fufilled? Or it there more to it? Will Nadia recover, or will her death push Sloane to new depths?

It's my theory that the result of the cliffhanger might leave someone who now doesn't have a name related to Sark, perhaps. Which would lead him to be around more.

I think something interesting might be to go more into the Jack/Sloane past, to see some covert actions they had in the past and such. Could be a way to start some fresh story lines that won't be as predictable.

It will also remain to be seen how they write Jen Garner's [Affleck's??] pregnancy into the storyline [as they say they will]. Remember the eggs she ahd harvested in season three? Perhaps a tie-in there?

Oh, and yes, more Marshall please!!!! It's refeshing to have a dork on TV that reminds me of myself [minus all his technical know-how, of course!]

:spoiler:

Yeah, I definitely agree on the Jack/Sloane past. It could spice up things enough.

As for the one without a name  I'm sort of expecting him to turn out some sort of Russian spy, because Irina Derevko saw through him, and whatnot. But then again, that would be too expected, I hope it won't go like that. I'm actually more interested on his parents/family, and how they are going to explain it all, whatever it turns out to be. Because if my memory serves me, he has never meat any of his relatives or anyone in the show (unless there was something early on). As in, his father Bill has been dead for a while, and on 4th season his uncle apparently passed. But no one who would actually know the family or their son.

Could he be a member of a Rambaldi watch group, devoted to protect the Chosen One? Could he have been placed in the CIA [like his father before him], to make sure the Chosen One did not meet an untimely fate of some sort, or to protect her from unscrupulous ones? Just a thought, the quote of his, and I'm paraphrasing, "Some people think I am bad, some don't" would make me feel that way.

And how much longer before Dixon totally cracks and goes crazy rouge? For some reason, I see it coming.
