Greetings everyone,
Yes, this is my first post but it wont be my last.

I'm the GM for an online (LIVE) Tabletop D6 RPG called SciRPG.
In short, its an alternate universe based on Starblazers/Yamato Anime and it uses the D6 Space Rules from WEG.

We play every Saturday night 7PM Pacific.
There is nothing to DL, all you need is your Browser (IE or Netscape or Opera or Mozillia... any will do) and the URL/password.

We play over a chat client that uses a dice roller and has a map/Icons feature.

If anyone is interested in participating email me: valgar @ gamezoid.com "Subject: SciRPG"
We have room for 3 more players.

No, you don't need to know the D6 Space rules, a collection of Character sheets are available with premade characters to start you off.

Need more info?

Not for me. When I play tabletop rpgs, I prefer to see players and see their reactions and whatnot.

Maybe Lord Draud is interested :)

Very creative, but I'm with Kilu also, I like to see players also, and maybe cheat a little :-P

LOL...
I have to admit, playing over the internet through a chat client is different.

As for cheating...
The dice client is intergrated into the software (I use Screenmonkey from NBOS (www.NBOS.com (http://www.NBOS.com)) which I bought.
An for the GM, you can force rolls or alter them, there is also scripting which can be used to alter the interface of the program.

Here is an example of me typing out stuff as two NPC's

http://www.gamezoid.com/images/ss001.jpg

And Typing out a dice roll is as simple as hitting a button or inserting it into your text like:

"I'll roll my dice to hit {1d20}"

and it will report the dice roll as:

"I'll roll my dice to hit 16(1d20)"

And if you are interested but worried about your typing skills?... dont be, we end up with lots of mistakes in grammar... the main thing is to have fun.

BTW, I've been trying to look for more players and I'm not finding many places to get chat role-players. Any suggestions?
I'm already at RPG Registry and two of my players are from there.

(I found this site through a search and I thought, why not try here for a few more players)

i personaly think that anyone that RP's online needs a to get better life, i am a hard core Pen And Paper fan and whle i don't have a fast army of freinds i would rather sit down with 4 of my real personal buddys rather then sit and type to a bunch of facless people miles and miles away, mind you i have been turn off to chat rpgs since i walked into a Yahoo rpg chat room, if you have the freinds why now sit and rp with them rather then spending more time infront of a computer screen? oh BTW what the hell is a D6 system is it like 3 steps down fro mthe D20 system lol

hehe, but seriously... some of us don't know any people who play PnP rpg's... when there's no clubs nearby, usually it's a better idea to meet people online with similar interests. it's a little less troublesome than screaming at a random crowd to ask if anyone's up for a quick game.

D6 is the original Starwars (West End Games).
Its a little more abstract than D20. you can pick up a sampler of WEG's rules here:
http://www.westendgames.com/d6/weg51010d.pdf

So, you say I need a life?
A 2 hour session every Saturday night is apparently taking up too much of my time in your opinion.

Ok,.. I get the picture.
I'm outta here, didnt come here for some rude@$$ flamewar.

Have fun . Goodbye

Like.. go out and talk to real life friends instead of posting. Get a life ;)

But seriously.. I am playing in two tabletop rpg's, but I am also playing in three games online. I prefer the tabletop games, but I just have too many characters I want to roleplay... So I resort to online gaming. :)

However... I do need to get me a life someday. Anyone know where I can download one?

yeah, i intentionally picked one that didn't work... took a while, tho. =)

and as to Gimble's school/girlfriend predicament: skip school and demand weird, kinky sex from the girlfriend. that way if you don't split up because of it, at least you'll get weird, kinky sex. =)

:shame: You guys were a little harsh with SciRPG. I hope he comes back.

There's nothing wrong with playing what is traditionally a pen and paper rpg online - in fact, I'd say it's only a few degrees different from playing a video game, especially an online one.

As often as gamers are made fun of, and vgm fans even more so, I would have expected less elitist attitudes around here.

Personally, I'd play such a game online if I had the free time, which I unfortunately don't. :spin:

by "you guys," i surely hope you mean "Danath."
i was sticking up for the guy.

(oops: Lord Draud is Danath, in case you didn't know.)

 I hope he comes back.oh, btw... i've seen his name down at the bottom of the today's visitors list maybe once or twice since then. if that makes you feel any better.

edit: apostrophe removal. >.>

Well, maybe he (how do you actually know that he is he? and not she? anyway...) came to verify if we are indeed complete asses :) And hopefully noticed that we are not. Atleast not all of us :)

i'll give you three to one odds that he's a boy.
or... three to one that's he's a girl which makes me have the one to three that he's a boy? >.>

...i bet he's not a girl.

most girls i know online have gender-neutral names (eg. Mysterious Otter, Dark Quartz, Nalot, PSLB, Zedie)... unless you count my AIM list, anyway. which i don't.

damn college kids and their AIM.

:) While I didn't mean to imply that Silver or Kilu were included with 'you guys', I don't feel like editing. Suffice it to say that I was referring to all posters who gave harsh or heckling, negative replies, which should make things fairly obvious. ;)

And I notice, Mr. Millions of Peaches Fox, that you accidentally-on-purpose included my name with the femmes. I'd like to point out that Silver Distortion is also gender neutral. :p (But then again, that comment was doubtless something you were setting up in the first place. ;))

 Don't play dumb - or are you playing coy...? After all, your name is gender-neutral. ;)
