As I explained to you over AIM, that is next to nothing compared to what you can insert into the color tag. You listed things such as #cc00FF. You can use any letter A-F, and any number 0-9 for all 6 digits to create a unique color code. Example, #04AB39. There are thousands of combinations.

Using hex color codes is obviously not as handy as picking some color that is in the dropdown menu, but in the end the dropdown menu is quite limited. Whether I use dropdown menuset colours or hexcode, depends solely on the situation at hand :)
