Anime! Top 5 Favorite

I don't know about everyone else but I love anime. So I believe everyone should share their top 5 favorite and possibly an explanation if you deem it necessary! I'll start her off. (I hope this topic isn't already in the forum)

In no particular order:

1.Outlaw Star - The only anime I actually purchased, soo good

2.Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - Relatively new, but it was damn good

3.Cowboy BeBop - I just love bounty hunters/outlaws and an awesome ost

4.DB/DBZ - I watched it so much as a kid I just have fallen in love with it

5. Samurai Champloo - Love the story, samurais, characters and fight scenes

Other important anime but not in my top 5: Rorouni Kenshin, Samurai Deeper Kyo, Trigun, Full Metal Alchemist, Inuyasha, Gundam Wing, Blue Seed, Bleach, Naruto (Last two are here because they're not done yet, I'm rating the overall series)

Trigun, Bebop and Hellsign.

Those 3 are the only ones I've seen, so it's my top 3. :p Actually, I haven't finished Bebop yet.

Ooooh. How have we not discussed this before?

In no specific order.

1. Trigun. A total classic and Vash is one of my favourite characters ever. A truly hapless hero who manages to keep an air of cool despite his luck usually being what wins the day for him.

2. Dragonball Z. Especially the much better Japanese version. This is a favourite for me just for Vegeta, let alone all the other coolness (and that one rock theme tune the American version had for a while).

3. One Piece. I can't watch it as hardcore as my brother does, but the characters really grew on me after a while. Yes, even Usopp. ¬¬ Also, fantastic Engrish in the theme tunes. The salty compass of destiny had me chuckling for days.

4. Ranma 1/2. I just really love the concept here. Boy becomes girl, father becomes panda. What's not to like? O_O

5. Urotsukidoji. Oh come on. Extreme tentacle rape. Bring it on! >_< Totally appeals to my fucked up side.

I'm only willing to say I liked FLCL and Cowboy Bebop. (I liked the music in FLCL, but... after I downloaded it... I found out I couldn't stand it without a cartoon attached to it. >.>)

But man, there are SO many good animes out there...I really think I should of done at least top 10, 5 is much too little.

And oh, random fact: Outlaw Star and Blue Seed are the only animes I actually went out and bought with money.

Haha, pokemon. That was was indeed, the shit. Only when there were about 150 (or more to see!) pokemon. Then it went downhill, but hey, I do love me some poke-a-mans!

I've heard of (and love with all my heart) the first 4 you mentioned...but Princess Nine? I'm assuming it's good if it's on your list.... You should trow me a sales pitch to convince me to watch it? (question?)

I don't know that it'd be for everyone - all I know is that I loved it. It's about a girl who can pitch baseball really well, and the headmaster of an all girl's school who wants to start a baseball program... to compete with the boys. :celestial:

My bro has been raving about Rosario + Vampire for some time and he put the series on disc for me. I still haven't watched it yet. It looks like it largely revolves around 'panties'. ¬¬ I dunno, the whole magic girlfriend angle is pretty bizarre as it is.

One anime movie that was on Adult Swim one night that I will never forget because it was sooo amazing was "Read or Die."

I won't laugh at some of those titles. I like Pokémon (at least, the first few seasons ;)), and Sailor Moon can be a sort of guilty (and furtive) addiction.

Avatar is a great American anime. I haven't finished it yet, so when I do it might possibly vault into my Top 5. :celestial:

I completely forgot about Avatar :O but I guess it is pretty self explanatory, since it's my avatar. (lolz)

However, I won't tell you the ending Zedie, only that it will make you want more Avatar. :( It makes me sad there is no more.

Pokemon I loved, until they got into the crazy 749 pokemon. The original 150 (151) were awesome, and even a little into the next tier. The movies were also pretty cool.

Haha! Sailor Moon, good man, good man. That show is pretty tight.

Ace and I are watching Puni Puni Poemy. Seriously. Every anime I see takes me down to a whole new depth of weirdness. If the fansub is accurate (which they often aren't) the theme song contains the lyrics "Man, my bunghole itches 'cos I'm a girl."
