Well, I spent most of the time stressing over finding a new server, getting our files back, and finding clients for Lintbox. I did spend some time playing Phantom Brave for PS2, and working on some php code. Nothing eventful.
Eventful, maybe not, dramatic I would think so.. what a horrible crunch :-(

Having recieved the first of Kyari's letters the day after the servers went down, I decided to start into pretty well any rpg I hadn't beaten that I could get my hands on. I went from Inindo, Treasure of the Rudra's, Treasure Hunter G, and Bahamut Lagoon for the SNES to playing 50 + hours of Morrowing for Xbox and beating fable. All in all an evenful little while. :D

:wonder: Well... I didn't really spend any of what would have been posting time playing games. I mostly ripped and tagged music files, or watched dvds. :bouncy:

I got nervous when all this started to happen. First SN was down then DN was down and then these forums and some other places I download from were experencing trouble and for the first time in a long time I shut off my computer. So I thought Ill play video games untill all this mess is cleared up. I took out my saturn because I wanted to catch up on playing some saturn games. I only have 4 saturn games and wanted to play something new so I got online and went to this saturn site to download saturn games and to my horror that site was also down. I thouht this was the internet rapture.
I had nothig to do.
I started to watch T.V. and clean the house and did all the laundry. After a week the saturn site came back online and Ive been playing saturn games all this time. It took me a while to learn the swap trick because I have a model 1 saturn and they dont make modchips for them anymore. Right now Im playing Panzer Dragoon Saga. Fantastic game, so unique. I cant belive It took me so many years to play it. The language they speak is so cool sounding. I must learn it. Tagra go finaa. Plost.

Wow, so many things happened while the forums were down...
* I've my brand new website online, at http://zeugmaonline.sytes.net/
* I've released the final version of my last AMV ("A Torn-Apart Heart", based on Kimi ga Nozomu Eien footage and a song by See-Saw)
* I've moved to a new flat and started my 4th year of engineering studies
* I've finished a couple of games I had been playing for months (FFTA, FF7, Freelancer) and enventually got hooked on Valkyrie Profile
* I'm currently working on two movie clips for student clubs on my campus (the International Gaming Corporation and the Manga Club). These will be shown next wednesday, during a show where all the clubs present what they do and who they are.
Anyways, it's good to be back here :spin:
I have been mostly sitting on my ass doing nothing.
I have some final exams I have been to, and couple courses before that, but mostly..I have just been sitting on my fine ass. Played couple pc games (check the 'what you play now' thread) and rippin some cds I borrowed from library. Nothing really interesting.
Of course I have been playing Samurai War RPG (http://yarold.ath.cx/sw_rpg/page.php?x=4418344) as well. Lately that is.

It's hard for me to answer this question because I disappeared about two or three years before the server went down!
Sans RPGamers.net, I mostly have tried to entertain myself by talking to those I live with about games, but they don't like to debate it. If you don't like the games they don't like, you're an idiot. And they're not very helpful when it comes to finding game music.
But what have I been up to since I stopped posting? I graduated, got married, and bought a house. That's about it. :)

I've been going to class and doing ROTC activities. I get up a few days a week at 5 a.m. and go do PT. I play Texas Hold 'em and video games when I can.
Hey! and welcome Nahkrinoth and Vicki! I see you were here before Vicki.. and so what made you come here Nahkr?? =)
Nahkrinoth has been here before. If you look at his join date... it's even earlier than yours :) :D :D MWAHAHAHA! :)
I'm looking at that.. but if you take a glance at his posts.. and then mine.. you realize mine are higher MUHAHAHAHAHAH!
The point was, that eventhough Nakhrinoth has been around for quite a while and Vicki has not, you treat Nakh as a new guy eventhough it's the exact opposite. You weird.

You weird.I think you misunderstand, I'm human.. and usually people on forums are :-/... and to tell you the truth.. I didn't know he was here before... nor am I telepathic.. so once you put the peices together.. just let me know.. and by the way.. it's YOU'RE WEIRD.. not you weird
nor am I telepathic
No need to be. As you so happily looked at your own post count couple posts back, you could have easily looked Nahks post count as well, and see that he has posted here before. No telepathy required, just eyes.
And proud of it.
hay look, it's my 500th posts. yey!

well done Kilu ^^
Well, welcome back everyone - and welcome me ! :p
During the down-time, I don't think I've done anything special actually. I've been working a lot - The Saga of Ryzom was out on September 16, and a game launch is always a busy period... I've been spending time with my girlfriend (oh and we like to play FF Crystal Chronicles together, it's so cool ^^)... I've been playing FFT Advance too, I like it. Aaannnd... That's about it. (°_°) Haven't done much really ! :wonder:
Happy 500th Post Kilu >.> <.< I played FF Chronicles on the Gamecube.. dunno which one that is.. but it was kinda sucky.. and really no point lol /shrug Atleast I got to use a spear and stab mushrooms..
The most idiotic thing from Square in the long time. Not the game, mind you, but it's name. They should have called it Legend of Mana 2 or something. I mean, it's more than obviously a sequel (atleast in layout, battle system & all if not in story) for all the Seiken Densetsu games.

E3 (was it?) had that Zelda Trailer where Link was all adult and heroic riding his horse and chopping some enemies on the way. But when will it come, is whole another question.

For now, you can expect Zelda - The Minish Cap, a whole new episode on GBA, coming November 12. Then there will be Zelda - Four Swords on GameCube, which looks very funny and graphically neat ! I might buy it... Or not. :) Like, if The Minish Cap has the Four Swords mode like A Link to the Past did, I'll be able to play it with Gigi on our GBAs, so I'm not sure there will be much need of the GC version (although it will more likely be a bigger, more complete game).
PS : Kilu, I definitely agree with you on FFCC / the Mana series. ^^
This is kinda obsque ^.^ but anybody know when/or if there's gonna be a new Zelda? lolUpcoming Zelda games for the US:
Minish Cap - GBA
Zelda 2: Adventures of Link (port of the 8-bit one) - GBA
Legend Of Zelda (working title) - GCN
A Zelda/Four Swords game is pretty much confirmed for the DS as well...

Yup ! And you guys are so lucky to get the DS way before us... Grrr !
Well, I'll still wait so that when it reaches our shores, the first models will have proved bugged and we'll get newer, improved DS series. :D
I have no interest in DS. No interest in any handheld actually.

 Nor I. I wish Nintendo would stop focusing on gimmicky handhelds and make more games. :p
Just to take it even further, I have never been interested in handhelds. I like to play my games on tv and sitting on my comfortable chair. Of course I could do this with gameboyplayer or something like that, but that sort of destroys the whole idea of handhelds.
Also, what I have seen from the PSP and DS confirmed releases... doesn't make me any more interested. Rereleases of old games that I have played on their original consoles do nothing for me. One reason why I have disliked Nintendo lately, bringing out the 'classic' series and selling them each separately. Jeez, I could have understood a compilation gba game, which would have included all of the classics, but selling them all separately (and full price?) is just evil. I'm of course talking about the old NES games re-released on gba in their original form.

Heh. That's why I don't plan on buying those (not to mention I never had a NES anyway ^^). Even A Link To the Past, which is one of my all-times favourite games ; I deliberately chose not to buy it, because I still have it on my SNES and it would be completely silly to play it on the GBA too ! But the temptation was there, hehe... :p
Generally, I'm not for all these ports from "big" to handheld - or any ports, actually. Because if I really want to be nostalgic and play those great games of the past, I can use an emulator and play them on my PC ! TV output, USB gamepad, it's all there (not to mention the various advantages to playing on emu ;) ). The real nostalgia is to play again those games on the original console, otherwise emu seems fine to me...
However, the DS looks interesting and the dual-screen system, although I thought it useless at first, could very well prove worth it. Besides it's still compatible with GB, GBC and GBA games - and I haven't bought the GBA SP, so... I could as well switch over to the DS when it's available. :D As for the PSP, well, I'm not so sure. I think Sony will copy Nintendo in this case and give people many remakes of PSX games... Since the PSX isn't that old, it looks even sillier to me. And the PSP is somehow "too much", it's a deluxe console - either people won't use it to its full potential, or they will keep playing it in their living-room just like an non-handeld console. It sure is cool as a hi-tech accessory, but is it really worth the price ? Handeld games are, by definition, not meant to be as impressive as their TV-cousins. :search:
 Nor I. I wish Nintendo would stop focusing on gimmicky handhelds and make more games. :pThey are making more games.
And in true Nintendo fashion, they're innovating them in completely new ways.
Sometimes it works (the whole "game system in your hand" worked quite well for them...), and sometimes it doesn't (the whole "10lb 3d goggles that'll burn your retinas in forty minutes" system)...
Nobody has stopped making games for the GCN or GBA...

I post VERY frequently! I bought an SP, I was never interested in the original GBA, because I forsaw the "lack of light" problem coming. (Maybe I'm psionic)
I don't hold intrest in the DS though, again I can't explain why.
PS: Jim, that thing is some kind of PS2 controler right?

Precisely. :)
As for the GBA, I was interested in the first model because even without a back-lit screen, you can see well if you're near a light source (it's not *great* but it's quite fine, really, and GBC was the same). Of course I would've liked a back-lit GBA, but since the GBA looked so great (games etc) and Nintendo had officially no intent of making a back-lit model... I wouldn't have wanted to miss that cute toy. :D Besides there was that guy who made the "Afterburner" kit, I ordered one and we mounted it with my friend... Except the moderate difficulty in mounting it correctly, the result is brilliant. :D Short : Nintendo stole the idea of the Afterburner ! The screen of GBA SP is exactly the same thing, it works on the same principle as the Afterburner kit on a basic GBA.
Anyway, since my normal GBA has a backlit screen as well, it's perfect for me and I'm glad I can play in the dark if I want. :) Now the GBA SP sure is more "professional" in the way it's done... But I really don't like its shape, the simple GBA is much better in my opinion. I don't like the way you handle the SP, it's unpractical - even thought globally the console's design is great. So I stick with my simple GBA (and it's hard, when they sell those great NES- or Zelda-collector SP...) and wait for the DS. This one looks more interesting than I thought initially ! :)

lol!
This Is one of my favorite web comics by the way.
I have the opposite problem with the shapes of the GBA and the SP, I dont like the way the original GBA felt in my hands when I used a model in the store, to me it just doesn't "feel" like a gameboy...
And when I use my friend's GBA in a lit environment, the screen often has alot of glare, you start to have to become a fung shui master to see it right. Well not really, but it can be difficult. I thought about the afterburner, but the comic above quite well portrays the likelyhood of my being able to do install it.
And you think SP collections are hard to resist? I had to resist every GBA game during that period! Though I think being broke at the time may have been a factor as well.

i really like the shape and layout of the original GBA's... but because of the shape of my hand, i tend to have trouble pressing the L trigger.
i suppose this means i should go buy an SP now... >.>
