Wheee~ An actual post about it. This is basicaly for the people who didn't read more than half way through the other thread.

I've removed the amount of user aloud on, as it hardly seems necesary now...
Your basic rules, if you want this server to stay up NO multiple connections! NONE! If I even see it no more for you~

As for that, there are no Upload requirments...but hey it never hurts to return the favor...right. Anyways...

Address: kaze.serveftp.com
Name: vgmusic
pass: tehyay
port: 21

for uploads
Name:upload
pass:upload
port:21

The upload account is more for my benefeit.

Anyways just play nice. The server will be up most of the time as this computer can't be used for much else. Right now I'm not sure how many people it will handle, but hey we'll find out right? The server will go down periodicly if I find I need the resources, or I need to use the internet on another computer ((God, I need a router!))

Two drives?
Yeah, just 'cause something is on one drive doesn't mean it's not on the other...my computer decided to partition my D drive all by itself, and I'm too much of a wuss to try re-partitioning it...I dun wanna lose mah musics~~~!

Requests:
Anything Suikoden that I'm missing!
((Note: I won't turn down a VGM if you feel like you want to upload it anyways...))

Alrighty, now maybe more than 4 people will actualy use this thing...I've only seen up to 2 people on this thing at one given time...

Limiting the number of users on at once is very needed for any FTP. If your upload is 60k/sec, having 20 people on is just silly. Limiting the number of people on at once ensures good speeds for everyone. Not many people may know of your ftp, but as the mirrors will tell you, many of them have 1000's of connections a day. When I ran an RPGN ftp, it had 25 people on at all times (max users) plus more trying to get on. It all depends who finds out about it.

Multiple connections happen, someone pings out, bad connection, whatever. The server should be set to disallow them, dont rely on the users not to abuse it.

Well, I also want to see just how much this computer can handle as far as traffic goes. And the server should be set to dissallow multiple connections...but anyone I see that's doing it repeatedly...well...~_~;

-EDIT-
Ack, I forgot! Thanks for the Advice though :D I'll definatly keep it in mind!

-Edit2-
Sorry for anyone who tried to get on today, we had some storming down here!

Its not up to your PC as to how much traffic you can handle, its more up to your connection/ISP. You should know your maximum upload speed. If not, find an ftp, send a big file and watch how fast it goes :p

Then I shall, just as soon as I get home...Thanks again for the advice :D *is indeed ignorant!*

Everyone has to learn these things somehow. I remember when I first started out, I didn't have anyone to advise me. It was confusing! Eventually I worked all the bugs out though :)

Thanks though :D! *wants to be a mirror someday!*
~_~; As soon as I restart and IE start acting normal I'll update the first post.

Anyways...Some of my limits have been reset ~_~; If you can't get on, at least set your retrys to 60 seconds...
