Hopefully people will adapt to the new forums well. It will definately take time to get use to this new system, but I think its for the best for our community. Now it can grow and expand without worry of broken editing tools, moderator functions, I can make proper backups of the database, etc.
Plus, I use the WYSIWYG editor, and I find it to be handy as heck :)

actually, i think the WYSIWYG editor gets a little annoying at times...
like when i want to change the image "http://sixty9.servebeer.com/foxyfox.gif" to "http://sixty9.servebeer.com/happyfox.gif", i have to make a whole new image instead of switching out those few letters...
or is there some way around that?
I missed the birth as well, probably was sleeping around then  Or maybe I was watching tv. Who knows.
I don't use WYSIWYG editor. Mainly because I'm totally used to type in all teh codes. In the normal mode or whatever is the name of the one between basic and WYSIWYG, I use the Enhanced, not the guided mode.
If I for some reason need to use any of the code buttons, the pop-up boxis annoying :) That's why I don't use it :) I'm a guru of forum usage. So I could use the basic box. But I don't, just in case my guruness ends someday :p

I've been using similar forums for some time, so this ain't a learning experience perse. (That's so funny if you're finnish...)
But this place has my... approval.

Well for the majority of the masses, the WYSIWYG editor will solve people asking simple questions like "How do you bold? How do you add smilies and game sprites to posts?" I happen to like its ease of use, so I'll stick to it
As for your problem Silver, I'm not sure if there is a way around that. All you could really do is change which style editor you are using before editing the signature. How often do you change it?

Somehow, that dancing smiley reminds me of this:

How often do you change it? it's not too big a problem, i was just curious to know if i was missing something i should have seen earlier.

:w00t: I'm just glad I'm still able to view each thread in the reverse order I became accustomed to on the old boards. ;)

You know, I thought I'd want that option on too Zedie, but I think I'm gonna leave it the way it is for now. Maybe once the posts start growing pages I'll swap it back :bouncy:

I'd just like to say how much I love being able to link and italicize a phrase like I did in the book thread using the power editor. It is quite impressive.
(However, a lot of times, using Firefox, when I click on a smilie face in the menu it shows up as a broken image and I have to copy/paste the :etc: code over. What's up with that?) :wonder:

You use the WYSIWYG editor? I think I may test that out, I'm using firefox too.
edit: nope, no broken images for me. clicked quite a lot on those smileys, everything came out ok. go figure.

...works for me.
but when i click back then hit forward again, my little message window stays greyed out. with firefox. does that happen to anyone else?
Yup, the back and forth thing happens. But as I probably said before in some other thread or maybe in this one, I don't use WYSIWYG :p
edit: tested with standard and basic editors, no issue like that. so it's a WYSIWYG only problem. The back and forth thing. And I tested the smley thing before.
EDIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SILVER LOOKIE HERE :p

Yep, it did that also for me. The smilies I'm talking about are when you click on the drop down menu for them, then click on the full list. It then pops up a window from which I can click on a smilie. That's where the broken images come from... but only sometimes. It's weird.

what are the odds of it happening? like... one in 10 about? maybe more? maybe less? seems to work okay for me...
...but... apparently something else weird seemed to happen. (in the WYSIWIGGY editor, it shows up as nothing but smilies, btw.)
