It doesn't have any spirit. None at all. The way this guy puts his titles, presents his topics . . . it initially feels like less of a religious publication, and more of a semi-tabloid magazine article. I don't think I'd watch any of the films . . . I've been watching church type films for years, and these ones kind of sadden me at initial sight. And when it comes to sensing the spirituality of a film, yeah, you can judge by its cover.
My reccomendation is stay away.

Well i first became aware of jack chick becasue of one of his tracts, defence agains dark dungeons or something like that, as a right wing intolerant bigited christan asshole, he naturally feels its his duty ot tell us what we can and can not do and playing D&D is a biiig no no.
he is so full of shit (sorry but theres no other word for it) that i think if he was publishing anything more... legitimate than his obvious garbage hed quickly be sued by the companines owning hte produts he condems for false and misleading content.
What truly scares me about people like jack is not the fact that they accualy beleive all the bullshit they spout, but that if you just read their crap its sounds very well thought out and even beleivable, that is untill you apply the real world and some common sence to it then its obviosuly bullshit.

Heh. I seem to have hit the nail on the head, somewhat. Good religious tracts and articles eminate a certain spirituality from them; I've been getting that feeling for over a decade from many pamphlets and books and films . . . this guy's site and his articles do quite the opposite :(

:D I would agree but further expound on that sentiment. Any religion truly practicing what it preaches (excepting some of the fringe groups and cults, naturally ;)), should treat others with patient love, kindness, and tolerance. Intimidation, obnoxious rudeness, and finger-pointing, name-calling, or hell-damning seem to fly against the point of conversion and the religions themselves, in my opinion. :bouncy:

Sometimes I wonder if that guy really believes what he says. You know he's probably making a lot of money on this stuff.

:D Someone handed me a CHristian pamphlet at Walmart last week, but it wasn't a Jack Chick one. At least, it seemed too gentle and subtle to have been written by him. ;)

(yeah i am having one of thoes days leave me be)

I'm afraid I can't just let that one go . . . religion is not evil. If anything it tries to make people happy, and the pursuit of Christ is supposed to be a pursuit of happiness.
As to the notion that they are lies, they are not. While I don't have any physical or logical proof I have spiritual proof, a kind of proof only alloted to one who asks with real intent (who could, though, be anyone). Religion, at least my religion, is not one of fools deluded by lies, it is one of intelligence and evidence and pondering and searching for truths of which this world will never find an end. It has made me happy, it has given me joy, and quite frankly I am sick of people saying we should abandon it because people who claim to believe don't follow the practices and give it a bad name.
Wa-hei. I am full of the happiness that comes not only from the realization of immortality, but life eternal, and the grand and wonderful shot I have at it and the most perfect plan that has been set out for us.
I'm sorry to be so angry; I don't want to turn anyone off . . . but the idea that you would support those trying to destroy not only the existance but the future of these people's method of enjoying life sickens me. It sickens me to the core. I don't care what your opinions are of religion or of the existance of deity; I know what I know. I cannot deny it neither do I dare. And if they feel the same way, and simply want, unlike Mr. Chick, to make other people feel the same way; and have them say wa-hei as well, then let them do it. And never, ever attempt to crush their dreams like that. You may believe with all your heart they are but I testify they are not.

You Know what pissed me off a few months ago. I was waiting for a bus on sunday by a walgreens. The buses run every hour on sundays. There were about 6 people there. Im just standing there when a guy and probably his son dressed in suits came out of nowhere and started to preach to the people at the bus stop one by one. They shook there hands and talked to them and gave them a phamplet of some sorts and continued to the next person. Im thinking Im next and how to tell them politely no thank you when they started to walk in my direction towards me,stoped and walked away without saying a word.
Why the frell did they do that? Do they think Im damned or something?Do they think Im a waste of there precious time? They dont know me.
It really upset me.
And they just hanged around waiting for who ever got off the bus or showed up.

:p We got a knock on the door from some guy trying to entice us into visiting his church. I tried to politely get rid of him, but he kept making comments, (and making creepy, sinister faces, I might add :wonder: ). This is the type thing that I do not support, appreciate, or forgive about various religious groups. If you don't want me in your face or in your home, stay out of mine, especially when I've politely tolerated your interloper status for a bit. :finger:
