Sanctuary is a webisode sci-fi series from writers of Stagate SG1 and Stargate: Atlantis. Has most of the actors in there too with the sexy Amanda Tapping. Have a gander at http://www.sanctuaryforall.com/home.php. I have watched the first 5 webisodes and I like it a lot!

I watched the first episode a while ago and thought that it totally blew. There were just too many lame things in it. And don't even get me started on the accent.

Besides Amanda must at least get a point or two out of ten from you. It would be nice to know where the 2 hour pilot is going storywise. But I am intrigued.

Well, I do have all the episodes so far stored on my HD, and I will give it another chance when there is a little more to watch than just 15 minutes. There's like 6 episodes out now, still a little too little for me to watch it. :)

I think there are only 8 at present, makes up the 2 hour pilot. Not sure on the chance of it continuing although they have received a lot of interest from fans.
Come to mention it I think episode 7 was released on Monday.

Well, I have now watched the so called pilot, that is, the 8 short web-episodes. I'd say that there is too much story crammed in them. And way too little character background. Basically there were no real introduction of the characters. So right now they are just shells. Writing so far has been quite shaky. Dialogue as well. Some of it is good, but too much of it is bad.

The quality of the CGI is okayish for tv show, but too often it's too obvious that it is indeed CGI. It's mostly evident with shadows that are cast by people. They just look unnatural, possibly they are not dark enough. The effect that it creates is similar to what some games have when polygons are drawn on prerendered background and it will look like some of the characters are floating inch or two of the ground, for example the early Resident Evil games.

And I really can't get around the fake accent. It's just so bad, and I'm not even british. It must sound horrendous to you guys. Another thing about accent is that it adapts a bit to your surroundings (and no, I'm not basing this on Madonna's overnight accent change). This character has lived for 150 years and still speaks ye olde English? Just doesn't seem right to me. They should have casted someone here who can actually do accents with skill. Better yet, someone who actually speaks English English.

As for Amanda Tapping, she is starting to look a little saggy on the cheeks. I never did notice this on SG-1, so possibly after the fairly physical role on that she has let herself slide a bit. :D And lets face it, the only reason she was cast on this role (it sure wasn't the accent) is that she is somekind of scifi icon and the daydream of all the geeks around the world, and the aim is to get her fans to watch the show. Speaking of casting, it's a little silly how in the first five minutes of the first episode there are two cast members of SG Atlantis in minor roles, as well as one earlier recurring cast member from BSG. And then later one more from SG-A. I don't know who casted this series, but it might be a good idea to not to cast familiar faces all over the place.

A little offtopic, but I really don't like the fact that Tapping will be on the next season of SG Atlantis. Big mistake. I mean, who knows how it will work out, but initially I think her character doesn't fit in there very well.
