I'm relatively new with ftp servers, but yesterday, I was downloading your Castlevania Music Sampler just fine (couldn't download the whole thing, though, because I was cut short on my own time). However, I tried to login today, and it won't let me in! I'm getting error messages. My retry is at 60 sec., and login info is okay. My program's set for PASV. Anything I'm not aware of?

If you got in fine yesterday with the same settings, my guess is that the server is full, or that he might have been offline for a moment when you tried to connect.

Edit: Ack, sorry if it looks like I hammered briefly there. I connected once and was dropped immediately for whatever reason, and retried manually twice (I don't have it set to retry connections on its own). I'll make sure to wait at least a minute between attempts, or at least retry later.

Anyway, I have not downloaded the Gitaroo Man OST yet because it seems that there are too many users. I've finished uploading that Giant Robo I OST. It is composed by Masamichi Amano and performed by the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. It's a fantastic album. The only thing is that the songs are in OGG format, I hope that is not a problem for anyone, I didn't have an MP3 converter. I'll upload OST II also at some stage.

I'm still looking to take a couple of those Suikoden and Grandia II OSTs, but I haven't done so yet.

It's all about the available amount of bandwith that the ftp owner can divide up between the 2 accounts (upload & download accounts) from his or her total amount based on their connection speed. He cound increase the amount of users that could enter the download account, but keep in mind that that's about another 25kbps to give to the download account, and if there's not enough bandwith to fully fill that need, then that 3rd person that connects may never even see that rate of speed.
(The first 2 people would get the 25kbps while the 3rd would get however much speed was left.)
You also wanna leave some bandwith available for those times when there's people using the upload account, so that it doesn't interfere too much with the transfer rates of those connected to the download account.

It may sound complicated, but it really isn't when you get into it. It's just all about how much bandwith you have and how far you can spread it evenly.
Hope this helps you understand it a little better.

Well it's all about patience really. Patience and persistence. If your using SmartFTP to connect to FTP servers, you should set your Max Retries to -1 ( -1 = Unlimited Retries) so that it doesn't stop trying to connect. (Just make sure that you still have the retry delay still set to 60 seconds. Then go to the Event option and associate a sound file to 'Login Successful' so that when you are able to get in, a sound or music will play letting you know. (Last thing you wanna do is what I did and miss your chance to get in when it actually does connect. I was listening to music at the time and so the sound didn't even play. By time I went back to look, I had already connected and timed out. ^^; )

Mechazawa: I have the jet grind radio future soundtrack, but have been unable to upload it since with my AOL speed it takes more than an hour per song (there are over 30) . If you really want it, you can find it in www.emuparadise.org under the "new releases" section; but you have to be a member to download it.

Apparently I'm having some trouble with the Chrono Cross soundtrack, particularly with Disc 1. All of the tracks on disc one were... wonky. I'll try to explain

The tracks kind of overlapped eachother. you start a track, and it'd be halfway through a song, often times not even the song that it's supposed to be. All of the tracks on Disc 1 are like this. Even worse, my favorite song Scars of Time flat out didn't make it because of this error.

So, If you dont mind, I'm going to download CD1 of Chrono Cross again. Thanks again.

If you do end up wanting me to upload some stuff, it might be wise to (at least temporarily) create a separate upload slot aside from the 4 you already have, specifically for my soundtrack uploads, so that one of the 4 aren't being used up for long periods of time (given that I am on a 56k, it's not like I can exactly eat up much of your bandwidth upload-wise). It will take me several hours to upload a soundtrack (hence doing one-a-night), but I don't mind doing so. As for downloading from you, seeing that I am on a 56k I will only download a few songs a night as to not tie up your download slots for too long at a time (given there are only two download slots available) unless you care to create a download slot for me (which I doubt).

All the track names are in Japanese, which my usual client doesn't support, so I'm trying a new client in the hopes that something will work (I haven't got the time to translate the track names and the list at Chudah's Corner is inaccurate). If it looks like I'm hammering, it's just the new client being stupid, sorry. Right now all I'm getting are 'unexpected null reply' messages from the server, so I'll try another client if this one doesn't smarten up.

Edit: Mmkay, that was retarded. The first client hammered with attempts at multiple connections (!!), which I certainly didn't configure it for, and its idiocy ended up interrupting the upload as a result. Despite trying other clients in an attempt to find something that's less of a hassle, I can no longer connect to even the 'look' account (ie. I finally figured out what it was trying to tell me with the 'unexpected null reply' messages), so I'm assuming the multiple hammers of the first client got my IP shut down, feh. Sorry, man, that was completely unintentional. :wall: Let me know if there's something else I can try.

Well, if you are looking for choir and orchestra I suggest you go with
"Final Fantasy 8"- Liberi Fatali
"Xenosaga" - The Miracle and Omega

if you want only orchestra...well....there's just a lot of that!

"Xenosaga" (the first one) contains some orchestral tracks which are just great and performed by the London Philarmonic.

"Final Fantasy 8 Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec - Orchestal Album" contains orchestral renderings of music from the game which is great.

"Opening Theme" from the "Final Fantasy VI Grand Finale" is great.

"Symphony Ys" is just great!

"Actraiser Symphonic Suite" contains music similar to John Williams and Gustav Holst music.

"The One-winged Angel" from Final Fantasy VII Reunion tracks.

"Nobunaga's Ambition Haouden and Tenshouki" albums contain some great stuff by Yoko Kanno. They are similar to some works by Prokofiev and Wagner.

Uploading "Steve Rippy - Age of Empires III" (Status : Up) & "Glorian - Knights of Honor"(Status : Up) .

AoE III is mostly background music with one or two epic tracks. Good to relax when one's coming home from a hard day of work.
Knight of Honor was unfortunally made in the synthetic way, therefore no real orchestra or choir was involved. Though it is pretty good to listen to while playing shooters. Very patriotic.

i have a problem connecting to hardhouse's ftp, and i've been desperate to knowing why.. -_-; i've tried using flashfxp and filezilla, and both only came with 'Connection failed (Connection Lost)' or 'Server closed connection'.

i'm new to this ftp thingy, but i believe i've set my ftp client to follow the rules mentioned in the first page (passive mode, retry delay, etc.).
can anybody help me plz..?? thanx before...

I yoinked Gitaroo Man OST and Speed Boy off the Initial D soundtrack. Been after both for ages, and I salute you for making all this music available to us. lol
