I heard he died. Is this true, or just one of those stupid rumors born from people taking things in the Inquirer too seriously?

It seems that everyone great are dying lately.

Ray Charles
Jerry Goldsmith

I don't think Rick James wen't from natural causes, nor was he old...

Faye Wray died recently, also.

She was the woman King Kong carried to the top of the Empire State Building in King Kong. ESB dimmed their lights for 15 minutes in respect.

Rick James was 56 years, it seems.
Ray Charles 73
Jerry Goldsmith 75
Johnny Cash 71

Well, 3 out of 4 is quite well.

Heart attack can be caused by unnatural causes :) I'm not saying that it is so though.

yeah, well, it stems from preexisting medical conditions... he was diabetic, had a pacemaker, and had a stroke some time ago... pick one, i suppose.

Elmer Bernstein, 1922-2004.

Everyone has heard his scores for Airplane! and Ghostbusters to name a few.

:D Yes, but I'm still waiting to hear what Bernstein has to do with Rick James... :p

I don't feel the need to start another thread just to point out that someone has died. It's more than appropriate to use this thread, as I did it before. No one had anything to say about that then, why do you now?

:D Because it's the first time I read it, and like you, I'll post my opinion about whether I think it is off-topic or not if I want to. :p
