Hey! I'm new to the forums and basically would like to ask for help or advice for my new project.
I've got this idea last year and have decided to implement it.
Think of it this way. What is an RPG? Google defines it as "Long games with elaborate storylines that involve going on a quest and building experience that makes the PC stronger (ie, Final Fantasy, Dungeons and Dragons "
And it's true. But think of it, aren't RPGs based off of real life? In real life you can become a better, smarter, wealthier, more respected person (levels) AND you can grow in knowledge and skill (experience). I believe RPGs are based off of real life entirely, the same principles apply.
So I've decided to create an RPG for myself. It deals with the real world, and has a plot that takes place in the real world involving the goals I have set for myself.
So firstly, I'd like to ask is anyone interested in a project like this? Turning real life into an RPG ?

My first step was to sit down and ask myself what am I and what makes up my life?
I figure that we live in an orderly universe and we have certain values that we attribute to ourselves. For instance your character sheet might look like this:
Name: Joe Blow
Age: 20
Race: Caucasian
Height: 5'6
Gender: Male
Weight: 190 (25% body fat)
That'd be a basic stat sheet. Then you might have something like
Wealth: $200,933 (your net worth, including money in the bank and the value of the goods you have)
IQ: 202 (I dunno anything about IQ numbers so dunno if this is good or bad)
And so on.
In an RPG you'd look like this:
Name: Joe Blow
Race: Night-Elf
Class: Druid
Health: 955
Mana: 494
But they have similarities. They're both attributes. That's the first step to the reality RPG.

So I've sat down and taken a look at real life. Through research I've determined that our entire existance could be divided into four different but interrelated categories: the physical, the mental, the spiritual, and the social.
As such, I've created a list of real-life stats I believe may help figure out exactly what you are in the real world, check it out:
Earth (body)
-Diet (amount and value-type of foods)
-Exercise (aerobic, weight training, flexibility, etc)
-Hygiene (cleanliness, shaving, flossing, and applying lotions)
-Body State (this is maintained primarily through the above three, medical checkups and keeping note of your appearance)
Water (mind)
-Abstract Mind Qualities
1. Sanity (ability of the mind to function normally)
2. Mood (your overall consistent emotional state)
3. Focus (your ability to concentrate on a given task and carry it through)
4. Memory (your ability to memorize, how long it takes to memorize, and how long you hold the memory)
5. Intelligence (your ability to process information)
-Education
1. General Education (things you know about the world including basic academic facts, language, and social skills)
2. Specialized Education (related to money-making skills, especially software engineering and creative writing)
Fire (social life)
-Public Life (tatemae-how you are seen by outsiders)
1. Reputation (what others think of you in terms of your ethics and values)
2. Status (the level of value others attribute to you based on productivity, wealth, and other factors)
3. Sociability (combination of physical appearance, likability, and social skills that measure the chance you have to succeed in social interactions)
4. Fame (the number of people aware of your existance)
-Private Life (honne-your inner world)
1. Personal relationships (your inner circle of very close friends, pets, lovers, children, parents, and close family...the biggest quality-of-life factor in your life and is one of the absolute most important things and it defines your reason for living at all)
2. Wealth and Productivity (how much money you have, how much you make, how you spend, and how you make it are all part of this very important aspect of private life)
Wind (spirit)
-Lawfulness (your willing submission to and agreement with the unchangeable, unbreakable and divine Laws of the Universe).
a. This is accomplished by writing down a Law of the Universe when it is learned (such as DO NOT STEAL! or APPLY ALL YOUR EFFORT TO YOUR WORK! or BE CAREFUL WITH EVERYTHING YOU SAY! or NEVER SPEND MORE THEN YOU HAVE or DON'T RAPE ANYONE and so on and so forth). universal Laws are a combination of common sense, biblical, and experience-acquired laws. Since there are nearly an infinite number of laws that govern the universe and behavior you'll have an externally growing list to refer them to.
-Wisdom (the ability to step outside of your situation, look at the big picture, change your behavior and approach, and adapt)
a. A very strange thing, it's a combination of many things: imagination, lawfulness, adaptability, basic intelligence, and so on. It's what makes it possible to create swords from chunks of rock and to turn plastic and metal into computer systems. It's the power to change your environment out of seemingly nothing and is directly related to lawfulness). It may be too abstract to even assign a stat value to. You could say it's official definition is "the ability to obey universal laws but also manipulate them to achieve desired results".
