Right then.

Today I was listening to some SoaD and thought to myself that "how wrong was I once when I claimed that SoaD resides in the same category with Linkin Parks and Limp Bizkits and other shit like that"

Now this gave me an idea for this thread :w00t:

As we all have or have had some sort of prejudices towards some sort of musical style or band, I'm expecting everyone to know what the hell I'm blabbering here. Think of my example about SoaD.

Do you have any unexpected favourites, something that you once frowned upon, but now listen with joy and happiness? If so, and I'm sure everyone has, what would the style or bands be?

Some of that may not make sense, I have a bit of a headache and it's rather late in here. So, if all else fails, concentrate on the question :)

Hmm.. let's see if I get this right...

Actually Soad was that for me too, when my brother started listening to it I thought "this isn't music", but a few months later I enjoyed the the weird chop soy and forest like the best thing since sliced bread.

:D There are probably many examples I could use if I thought at length, but the first thing that comes to mind is Car Wheels on a Gravel Road by Lucinda Williams... When I first heard it I thought the music was mediocre and the vocals somewhat wavery; now I quite like the entire album. :spin:

((¬_¬; Lets see if my ISP will stop being stupid long enough to make a post this time))

I was real biased in Jr. High against bands like Offspring and Sum 41, now I listen to them almost daily. I've stopped being so biased and idiotic about music. I'd haved to say the biggest reason I was being bull-headed were the people around me...now I play everything from Japanese opera, to SoaD, to pokemon, then to Offspring just on the way to school.
